Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260702-BBD83-2147314559. Severity: No Incident, No Injury. Product: VEEKTOMX VT103 (Black VEEKTOMX Mini Power Bank 10000mAh, 22.5W Fast Charging Small Portable Chargers. Amazon has since removed the product listing. Archived link to product provided below.). Incident: I have two *black* VEEKTOMX Portable Charger Mini Power Banks purchased in 2024. Currently there is a recall on white, pink, or purple ones. I reported to both Amazon and VEEKTOMX, that the black ones, when in fast charging mode to my [REDACTED], the unit gets extremely hot, too hot to even touch. I have an older [REDACTED] powerbank of similar capacity and under similar charging circumstances, that experiences low to no heat at all. VEEKTOMX indicated that this is not an issue, are safe to use and cannot be returned for a full refund. I am concerned if I continue to use them, they may cause a burn or fire. I would be willing to produce a video if requested showing this issue, but first I would need to obtain an infrared thermometer to demonstrate. (07/20/2026): I produced a video demonstrating how the usb-c port on the unit got over 160 degrees Fahrenheit, which can cause a third-degree burn in as little as one second.
