Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260727-42919-2147313313. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: LG LSEL6330FE (Manufacturer: LG Electronics Product: Electric range Model number: LSEL6330FE Serial number: 602MMFU0H763). Incident: I am reporting a potential product safety hazard involving an LG electric range that resulted in an actual fire. Product information: Manufacturer: LG Electronics Product: Electric range Model number: LSEL6330FE Serial number: 602MMFU0H763 Installation date: May 22, 2026 On July 26, 2026, the front-right burner knob was accidentally moved from the OFF position to HIGH. There was only a silicone stove cover on the cooktop at the time. The burner immediately heated the cover, causing it to ignite. Flames rose nearly to the ceiling. I understand this model is not currently included in a recall. However, after experiencing an actual fire and multiple accidental activations, I believe this presents a potential safety hazard that should be investigated. The range did not have the optional plastic knob locks installed when I purchased the home. However, my concern is not simply the absence of the locksit is that ordinary contact with the knob can move the burner from OFF to HIGH without intentional operation. A safety feature that depends entirely on consumers installing additional locks may not adequately address the risk of accidental activation. I am requesting that CPSC inve
