Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260804-23E5F-2147312881. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Baby Brezza One Step Washer and Sterilizer with HEPA filter (Baby Brezza One Step Baby Bottle Sterilizer and Dryer Advanced with HEPA filter. purchased directly from BabyBrezza.com as a gift to my daughter for first child due in 3/2026. Has great holding chambers with white top and bottom casing.). Incident: I purchased Baby Brezza One Step bottle sterilizer with HEPA filter in November of 2025 for my daughter as she was expecting our first grandchild. The product was not opened and used until a few days prior to the babys birth in March 2026. After using this product for less than five months, the bottom of the sterilizer has melted all the way through the bottom. This is a huge fire hazard for young families and their homes. We started smelling a burning smell about two weeks ago, contacted Baby Brezza and was told this is completely normal, there is no hazard and need to be concerned. We have photo documentation of this problem. Further, it is to be noted that we have only used distilled water each time we used this machine. We also t roughly rinse all item in hot water, then soak in a light soap and water bath, rinse that thoroughly before placing into the sterilizer. There was NEVER any milk, food or any other substance ever to enter the sterilizer.
