Incident: I am writing to formally report a serious safety failure involving my StoveGuard Pro liner, which caught fire during normal and recommended use. This was the first use of the product. I was using a small pot on the small, left front burner of my gas range. Despite using the correct burner size and an appropriately sized small pot, the StoveGuard Pro liner caught fire. Needless to say, I am glad I was at the range when this occurred and was promptly able to extinguish the fire. Because this product is marketed as heat-resistant and specifically designed for gas ranges, it should easily withstand standard use on a small burner. The fact that it ignited under these controlled conditions indicates a critical product defect, such as material warping, improper fit, or a failure in its fire-retardant properties. This incident posed a severe fire hazard to my home and safety.
