The vehicle experienced a persistent electrical system defect causing the 12-volt battery to repeatedly discharge. The dealership replaced the 12-volt battery and performed a software update, but the issue remained unresolved. On two separate occasions the owner arrived to retrieve the vehicle only to find the battery completely discharged and the car non-operational. The vehicle remained at the dealership for over 30 consecutive days with multiple failed repair attempts.

The failure began when the home circuit breaker tripped and the vehicle refused Level 1 charging, displaying a 'Check Electrical System' warning. When connected to a Level 2 AC charger at a public station, a loud pop occurred and the charging station immediately suffered a mechanical failure and shutdown. The vehicle then displayed 'Stop vehicle and check power supply' and was limited to 40mph with a turtle icon on the dash, creating a safety hazard in traffic. Within two hours the 12V battery was fully depleted, leaving the vehicle unresponsive and requiring a jump-start for towing. The dealer confirmed ICCU failure requiring replacement.
