Incident: Sent to information center Summary of phone destruction on January 16, 2023 At about 12:05 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023, the Motorola cell phone previously purchased from Verizon in Menomonie WI started to heat up and start on fire while in the back pocket of [REDACTED]. [REDACTED] clothes were all stained with burn marks and his underlying skin was reddened. The house, especially the basement, was saturated with the most irritating toxic smell for more than a day. The house was aired out the best we could but some of the smell exists two days later. Both [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] acquired sore throats and headaches in the 12 hours following the incident.
