Electric Coffee Makers or Teapots (217)

99 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 28, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260328-BF1FA-2147321223. Severity: No Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Cuisinart DCC-3200. Incident: Condensate water is dripping down to the power cord on the back side of the cuisinart DCC-3200 coffeemaker. When opening the lid after brewing, a significant amount of condensate water drips from under the lid and down the back side of the machine and onto the power cord. This has been occurring from day one of use, (approx. 2-1-26) and creates a safety hazard. Other than that, the machine works normally. The machine was stored brand new in its original box since my wife bought it brand new at the end of 2017. We did not need to start using it, however, until the start of February 2026, as our old machine refused to die. Also, this same DCC-3200 model is still being sold on Amazon.

Electric Coffee Makers or Teapots (217)

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 16, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20210928-8C144-2147360367. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Cuisinart DCC-3200 (PerfecTemp 14-cup Programmable Coffeemaker model DCC-3200 serial number 50622). Incident: What made me want to file a report was when my wife lifted up the coffeemaker to clean the counter top and the bottom of the unit completely fell out and disintegrated. The rusted and corroded base plate on a PerfecTemp 14-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker by Cuisinart disintegrated after normal use over about 6 years and exposed electrical wires and components in the bottom of the coffeemaker. This gapping hole poses an electrical saftey and fire hazard. Being on the very bottom of the unit and out of view, the corrosion went unnoticed when cleaning the counter top because there is no warning in the manual to look under the coffeemaker for corrosion and you do not turn the coffeemaker upside down when you clean it. My wife and I use the product daily using the instruction unit guidelines. Potential injuries include electrical shock and fire.
