SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20111230-FFD13-2147471866. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Electrolux EW30DS65GS. Source model text: EW30DS65GS8. Incident: I have a new Electrolux Dual Fuel Range Model EW30DS65GS8. We noticed a strong gas smell and found that the knob to turn on the gas burner was slightly turned on and the igniter did not start the burner flame. Hence the gas continued to flow into the room. Had we not noticed the smell or had left the room and a spark was set, we believe the house would have exploded. I phoned Electrolux but they did not offer any solution other than to be careful. We believe that there should have been a fault sensor that if the gas was flowing and a flame had not ignited, the stove should automatically shut off the flow of gas.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20151113-47EBD-1530395. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Electrolux EW30DS65GS (Electric Range). Incident: The consumer states that after approximately a year of use, the front and right burner had been sparking but not lighting. The burner has been replaced three times but it never fixed the issue permanently. The first and second time that it was repaired, the unit worked for a couple of months, after it ceased lighting once again. The lighting issue seems to have been fixed the third time that it was repaired on 03/16/2015. After the repair, the consumer sporadically noticed the glass atop the burner was turning black. Approximately on 10/30/2015, the Fire Department went to his home because the carbon monoxide alarm went off. The Fire Department determined that the stove was the culprit. They told the consumer the reason why the carbon monoxide alarm did not go off any sooner is because the home was usually kept with windows open since it was Summer. The manager, [REDACTED], from Reliable Repair took his lead technician to inspect the consumer's range and both determined that the same burner is not burning the gas properly, thus releasing carbon monoxide above average levels. The consumer indicates that the unit is now one week out of his extended warranty and so he cannot receive assistance without paying out of pocket. The consumer believes this product poses a safety hazard.
