Incident: Approximately three weeks ago, our Kenmore cooktop, Model #790.44229101, Serial Number: NF40722446, spontaneously ignited at approximately 1:40 a.m. CST. I was not feeling well and was still awake. I smelled smoke and was on my way to the kitchen when I heard the smoke alarm. I hurried to the kitchen and discovered a fire on my stovetop. A stack of paper plates and several other items were in flames and the kitchen was filled with smoke. Each time we turned it off, the rear right burner would reignite This cooktop was manufactured in February 2014; and, we purchased it on 4/10/16. We purchased it as a discontinued floor model and were NOT offered the option to purchase an extended warranty.
