Leak

Clothes Dryers, Not Specified (127)

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 22, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20240707-365FA-2147338149. Severity: No Incident, No Injury. Product: LG DLEX4000W (White LG ThinQ Sensor Dryer with steam cycles). Incident: I was using the steam function on my LG dryer and it started leaking on the floor. After switching the hose, which I thought was the problem, it was still leaking. After taking a part off the back, I saw that the hose inside the dryer that runs up the unit was pressed against a hot element, causing the hose to split making water leak down the back of the unit, causing water to pour down along electrical cords in the back of the dryer. There is also a significant build up of hard water deposits on the back as well as the cracked hose.

Electric Clothes Dryers Without Washers (106)

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 18, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260322-EA85C-2147322419. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: LG DLEX4000W (LG Dryer DLEX4000W. Previous versions of the product had a felt seal to prevent lint which was removed with this version.). Incident: LG Dryer DLEX4000W Lint Trap is ineffective at capturing lint as a result of a design flaw. It never has lint on it and my dryer duct is full of lint with normal usage and less than 1 year old dryer. This is a fire hazard. No injuries or fire occurred. Previous versions of the dryer had a felt seal to prevent lint filled air from bypassing the trap. This version removed that felt seal, likely for cost savings.
