Government / agencyIndexed Oct 22, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20170623-65226-2147399470. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Weber E310 (Weber gas grill Spirit E310). Incident: The "catch tray" under the gas burner has caught fire twice. I believe it is much too close to the flames of the burners. The grill was only used twice after cleaning the tray. The previous design was a deep tray witch kept the tray away from the flames. I will never feel comfortable using this grill without cleaning the tray first. It is at best very poor design, impractical and most importantly a fire hazard. I called customer service at Weber Grills and they took my information, told me this was a new tray designed for 2017, and told me they Have not any other complaints of this issue, however I think it's very dangerous design, The grill model is Weber spirit E310
