iPhone 15 Pro Max began dying at about 65% during use. An authorized provider said the battery could not be replaced in-store and sent it to an Indiana repair center, which then quoted about $562 for additional repairs. Owner refused and requested return; phone came back damaged despite local shop photos showing pristine condition before shipping. Owner warned others to photograph devices before authorized repairs.
