Government / agencyIndexed Oct 22, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20150216-64339-2147435357. Severity: Injury, Seen by Medical Professional. Matched catalog product: Keurig It was a Keurig smart Brew Plus. Incident: I was making a cup of coffee with my keurig k10 mini and I noticed that water started to spurt out of every crack and crevice. It has never done that before so I immediately noticed and went over to check it out. My natural reaction was to open the top lid where you insert the pod thinking the water would stop but instead it exploded out at me and when I went to protect my face it hit my hand leaving me with a major burn and a few blisters.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20141223-2B67C-2147437552. Severity: Injury, First Aid Received by Non-Medical Professional. Matched catalog product: Keurig It was a Keurig smart Brew Plus. Source model text: Keurig K10 Mini Plus 08-202453-017 Rev A. Incident: I received this Keurig K10 Mini Plus coffee maker last year as a Christmas gift and the 1st couple times I used it, the steam was SO hot I have not used it since, for fear of burning me, as my oldest son had just died 2 months before that in a mobile home fire!! I did not want to hurt my daughter's feelings so I just kept it in the box, and it's still there. Now I KNOW that I won't try to use it again!!
