I was driving my vehicle in a local road at speed about 20MPH and suddenly got a warning saying "Stop safely, Vehicle will shut off soon". Then the gas pedal stopped working. It was on the middle of the road. I switched off my car and started it again a couple of times and that warning was gone but the engine light was on. I was able to drive the vehicle and so the next day I went to the dealer to find the issue. After 4 days the dealer said they couldn't replicate the issue and also the engine light was not on anymore and so they returned my vehicle without doing anything. After a week I was driving on a freeway with all my family members (6 of us), 75 MPH the same thing happened again. I immediately pulled over to the shoulder, since the gas pedal was not working. I switched off the car and switched on then I drove the vehicle. This happened at least 6 to 8 times on my 300-mile drive. It was really scary that the vehicle got a weird warning and the gas pedal stopped working in the middle of the road. At one place there was no shoulder, so I had to stop on the road itself. After coming back, I dropped my vehicle with the dealer to find the issue. It's been 2 weeks but they are saying they couldn't replicate the issue. I bought this as a brand-new vehicle on April 2023, and it's just 14 months old.

This complaint concerns hardship caused by dealer scheduling and parts availability issues during a mandatory recall, not a defect in the recalled part itself. My vehicle was scheduled for a recall repair at an authorized dealership. The dealership confirmed the appointment but did not have the required parts available. I was informed of this only after dropping off the vehicle. As a direct result of this failure in scheduling and coordination: –I was required to rent a vehicle unnecessarily. –No loaner vehicle was available, despite recall instructions advising customers to ask dealers about alternate transportation. –I incurred rental charges, mandatory fees, fuel costs, and extra travel time that would not have occurred absent the dealer’s error. –I also experienced additional personal hardship, including having to transfer a child car seat between vehicles and adjust family obligations, such as waiting at a medical appointment, due to the unexpected need to return and manage the rental vehicle. The manufacturer’s customer care has limited reimbursement strictly to a standard policy cap and has declined to consider dealer-caused hardship or goodwill review, despite conflicting written guidance regarding reimbursement limits. This complaint is about whether recall compliance processes adequately protect consumers from avoidable hardship caused by dealer scheduling failures during mandatory safety recall repairs.

On June 14, 2026, one day after purchase, while driving through the Mojave Desert on I-15 in temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit, the check engine light illuminated and remained on through Southern California. The vehicle required a jump start after being parked in a covered multi-level parking structure for 5 days in Long Beach California after which the check engine light cleared. On June 19, 2026, six days after purchase, during the return trip the high voltage hybrid traction battery failed completely without warning in active Las Vegas highway traffic. The vehicle lost all motive power and coasted to the roadside. Three minor passengers were aboard, the youngest age 13. The occupants were stranded in temperatures exceeding 100 degrees for approximately two hours awaiting a tow truck. The vehicle was towed to an authorized Chrysler dealership where the high voltage traction battery was confirmed failed and replaced under warranty. A valley pan oil leak was also discovered and hybrid software update were also performed. An outstanding curtain airbag safety recall had never been remedied prior to the breakdown. The towing company reported they had been towing multiple Pacifica hybrids with similar failures during the same Las Vegas heat wave, suggesting a systemic issue with the high voltage battery thermal management system in extreme heat. The vehicle had been purchased six days prior with fewer than 1,000 miles of ownership at time of failure.

I recently purchased a 2023 chrysler pacifica hybrid that did not have a recall listed for the loss of power incident. Within 24 hours of buying the car it died on me while driving. I was driving on a two lane busy road when without warning the vehicle beeped loudly and suddenly I lost all ability to use propulsion. The car illuminated that I should brake and it will shut off soon but soon was immediate and I had zero time to safely exit the road. After dying a little turtle symbol showed up on the dash and the check engine light became illuminated. Once I was able to get the vehicle restarted the check engine light remained illuminated and ai arranged for the car to be seen at the dealer right away. I took it to the dealer within a few minutes of this event and they did the update that was supposed to fix something. Within 3 days it repeated the same event. It is now sitting at the dealership to be looked at again. I had no time to stop safely, had I been on the highway the ability to remove myself safely from the road would have been zero percent chance. How long before the government steps in and holds Chrysler accountable for their poor quality and repairs that fix nothing? I lost power completely. I lost the ability to maintain speed in order to safely remove myself from the road. My family could have been killed. These are family vehicles, out yourself in the shoes of someone with children, would you feel safe putting your kids in a car that could die on you at any moment without any real warning signs?

High voltage battery pack, Power Inverter Module (PIM), and HV charging system. PIM replaced twice (p/n 68381781AD, 8/4/25 and 8/18/25) after being found melted with arcing damage at HV connections. Battery pack has active BPCM fault codes and a recorded cell voltage excursion. Vehicle available for inspection. Vehicle lost all motive power without warning at highway speed on multiple occasions, requiring the driver to pull over. This occurred on a platform subject to recall 24V-536 (HV battery fire risk). A melted inverter and arcing at HV connections were found on a vehicle still being driven daily. BPCM data shows Cell 79 recorded a voltage excursion to 1,526 mV — less than half minimum safe operating voltage — stored in permanent memory. Yes. Lawless Inc. (Woburn, MA), authorized Chrysler dealer, confirmed fault codes PA121-00 and P0A43-00 on 8/4/25 and replaced the PIM. Vehicle returned 8/18/25 with same failure — dealer confirmed arcing damage and melted inverter. Three visits total; defect unresolved after two repair attempts on the same component. All three visits performed by authorized Chrysler dealer under 10-year/100,000-mile HV battery warranty. Stellantis warranty claim opened each visit. No police or insurance involvement. Red warning "Will Lose All Power" appeared on instrument cluster before each shutdown. Battery range has displayed erratically since 2/28/25 (~17,788 miles), when nonlinear discharge was first reported and dismissed. Active BPCM Level 2 safety fault (L2/L1 CELL MAX V CMP_FLT) remains present today.

POWER TRAIN

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11666901

After driving 15miles home from work, stopped at a traffic light to turn left. When attempting to proceed forward van stopped with an error code that indicated "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon". The van shut down, and could not move even though it was blocking the intersection. Law enforcement had to be called as it was a safety hazard, and a tow truck had to be dispatched to remove the van from the intersection and tow to dealership for warranty service. The dealer provided warranty service as per Chrysler direction, which was a software update and reseating electrical connections. However, as per the notes from the dealer, "possible a loose connection was issue but still could be internal to power inverter module." As the repair was not a definite resolution for the issue, I contact Chrysler corporate to request a more definite repair. Their stance was that they considered the car repaired under warranty, and that they would not authorize any further work. Chrysler stated that they will not do anymore work until the issue happens again. The issue is that the condition that results is that the van shuts down - and it can happen anywhere, the middle of an intersection or on the freeway at highway speeds. Basically Chrysler has told me that even though they are not sure that the fix applied may not have remedied the issue that caused the van to shut off, they will not do what is required to ensure that it does not happen again. Chrysler has put the safety of my family second to their bottom line - by refusing to authorize the expensive work that it would take to remedy the problem, and ensure that my faily does not face a dangerous situation when driving our van.

We have had our 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid since [XXX]. This was a factory ordered vehicle. There have been no indications that there is any issue with the vehicle. About a week ago while driving the vehicle a warning came on the speedometer screen that said "Pull over safely the vehicle is about to turn off". The check engine light also came on. Once the vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and stopped the vehicle turned itself off. After waiting a few minutes the vehicle was able to be restarted and driven about 5 minutes home. The check engine light remained on. We did not drive the vehicle again until we were taking it to the dealership to be inspected. The check engine light was on the entire drive from our home to the dealership, which is about 10-15 minutes. The vehicle has now been at our local Chrysler dealership for 6 days. The technician at the dealership is telling us the code stored in the vehicle memory means it needs a new transmission. We are being told they need to replicate the issue for the warranty to cover a new transmission being put in. If they cannot replicate the issue, we are to take the vehicle back and continue to drive it until it happens again and then immediately have it towed to the dealership so they can receive warranty approval to replace the transmission. My research has revealed this is a known issue in Pacifica Hybrids regarding stalling due to a transmission sensor. I called Chrysler to clarify the warranty process and if there is a recall on my vehicle. The warranty process is correct and there is currently not a recall for this issue on our Pacifica Hybrid. On [XXX] while traveling on the interstate the car issued a warning engine light and turtle image to pull off the road as the car would shut off, immediately it had no power, maybe could only go 30 mph. Took the car in on 5/10 which was the earliest appt. Said they did a software update, gave the car back. Took the car again on [XXX] when the same warning appeared again on the interstate, same situation disabled vehicle at high speeds on the interstate and no power. Said they changed a module related to the error and gave me the car back. Yesterday as I was driving on [XXX] 70 mph the car gave the same warning and shut off again, immediately I had no power, 30 mph. The dealer acknowledged my car is not the only one in his shop with this issue. They had my vehicle for nearly a month the time before. This vehicle is not safe to drive on the highways as it can shut off at any time. It's a known problem by Chrysler and their idea of fixing it, is issuing a warning which gives you almost no time to get off the highway before your speed is greatly reduced and even then you're stuck on the side of the highway with cars speeding by in an area with no shoulder or construction zone you'd be stuck in the middle of the road. Someone will wind up dead on the highway, I am lucky that in the 3 times this has happened I have not been hit and have been able to safely get to the shoulder, but I don't see Chrysler being able to fix this issue, the dealership did reach out to the manufacturer each time. I know my car is not the only one that has this issue and I'm concerned for the safety of anyone who owns one of these. A simple google search of this vehicle will show the problem is wide spread. This is what I wrote to Stellantis. Dear Stellantis Customer Care, My vehicle has now stalled five separate times while I was making a left turn through an intersection. When this happens, the engine shuts off unexpectedly, the vehicle shifts into park and I must attempt to restart it while sitting in the roadway. During the most recent incident, the vehicle would not restart on the first attempt and required a second attempt before it would run again. This creates an extremely dangerous situation. Losing power in the middle of a left turn places me, my passengers and other motorist at risk of a serious accident. The vehicle has approximately 43,000 miles and has been taken to my Chrysler dealership for diagnosis. Unfortunately, I have repeatedly been told that they cannot duplicate the problem and therefore cannot repair it. Despite those visits, the dangerous condition continues to occur. I am requesting that Stellantis immediately: • Open a formal case regarding the safety issue. • Assign a regional field engineer, or star technical specialist to inspect and diagnose my vehicle. • Work directly with my dealership to determine the cause of this intermittent stalling condition. • Advise me whether the vehicle is safe to drive while this issue remains unresolved. I have been a responsible owner and have sought assistance through the dealership, but I cannot continue driving a vehicle that unexpectedly shuts off in the middle of an intersection. I am asking Stellantis to take this matter seriously, and provide a timely resolution before someone is seriously injured. Please contact me as soon as possible regarding the next steps. I would appreciate receiving a case number and the name of the representative assigned to assist with this matter. I intend to file a safety complaint with NHTSA regarding this matter. Thank you for your prompt attention to this urgent safety concern.

This is a PHEV and upon returning to my vehicle after being plugged into a Rivian public EV charge station I found that the charger handle overheated and smoking. When I left the vehicle 45 minutes earlier it was charging with no issues whatsoever. When I removed that handle, a large piece of the charge terminal came out of the handle a remained attached to my charge port. It was one of the connecting sleeves that melted out of the charger and somehow arc welded itself to the male end of my charge port. I still cannot remove it and so now I am unable to charge my vehicle. I notified the property officials and also notified Rivian, but neither is claiming any responsibility to the damage to my charge port. I took my car my local Chrysler dealer and explained what happened but they denied any fault as well. My vehicle has less than 13k miles and still covered by new car warranty so I thought they might know why that happened. In my judgment what had happened is the charge cable itself had a weak wire or a bad, loose connection to the copper terminal inside the handle that caused high resistance and heat to build, then broke away and bound itself to my charge port once I removed the charge handle. When I try to followup with Rivian, best I can do is communicate with their front line phone customer service (they never allow me to speak with anyone authorized to make decisions about the matter), however Rivian did fix their public charger after the incident, but they're seem uninterested in assisting a fix to my vehicle, which I feel they are at fault So have claimed Chrysler had had charge port issues but they are denying assistance. I have an estimate of around $980.00 to repair my charge port, but neither Rivian nor Chrysler warranty are willing to make repair. I feel victim here, used equipment as advertised but being denied product liability claims by both parties, Rivian and Chrysler.

We have a continuing issue with the Pacifica of showing a dashboard warning of "STOP SAFELY VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF SOON''. The power becomes diminished and with a few minutes, all power is lost, including lights, engine, all dash warnings are gone. After sitting on the side of the road for a few minutes, the vehicle will restart like nothing happened. Occurrences shown in order by date, location and mileage. [XXX] in Gatlinburg, TN with approx 1800 miles. Dealer found error codes relating to hybrid system but could not repair for at least 4 weeks. Advised to continue trip and make an appointment when we return to Georgia. [XXX] on [XXX] enroute to Myrtle Beach the issue reoccurred [XXX] in for repairs at Chrysler 3206 miles. April 18, back to dealer same issue at 14,145 miles. Extensive repairs performed on hybrid system. April 24 with 14,303, same issue. Received vehicle back on June 20, 2025. [XXX], another occurrence with 15,645. This time the vehicle would not shut down by the FOB but would not function at all, though the dash stated put vehicle in park, but it was in park.. Ackerman Towing of Macon, GA attempted to tow vehicle, but the parking brake would not release nor would the transmission shift into neutral. After 3 hours, vehicle finally shut down and restarted. Back to Chrysler. Received vehicle back Aug 13. They could not find a problem. [XXX] enroute to VA Beach. Same issue at 17,750 miles on [XXX] outside of Lumberton, NC. Restarted after a few minutes. Continued trip. I feel this problem of shutting down is a death trap. Losing all power including outside lights could easily become catastrophic, especially if it happened after dark. Chrysler is aware and seems to be unable to find a remedy. I have more info, but out of characters to relay more. ENGINE,LANE DEPARTURE

24 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11664364

I rented this car from Budget on Saturday, May 31, 2025. When I drove it on Sunday, June 1, 2025. The check engine light came on and the car gave a warning that it would shut off. The first time I saw this notification I was stopped at a stopped sign at a 4 way intersection. The car proceeded to shut off after some time (maybe 20 seconds or so, not sure). I was at a full stop and the car was in "Drive". When the car shut off it went into "Park" automatically. I turned the car back on and put it back in "Drive". The car would not move. I check to make sure the parking brake was not turned on and it was not. I put the car in "Park" and back into "Drive" and the car still did not move. I turned the car off a few more times before it switched back into gear normally. I was unable to return the car at that time. About an hour later as I was driving on the interstate in the left lane, the same warning light came on. I had to immediately move from the left lane of a 6 lane interstate all the way to the right shoulder. There was no exit or left shoulder. Once I got there the car idled for a moment and shut off; I am uncertain how long it was before it shut off. I waited a couple of minutes since I was also shaken up at having to move so many lanes on a busy interstate with so many lanes. I got to my destination after about 30 minutes. On the way home about an hour in to the drive, the same thing occurred. I moved onto to the right shoulder of a two lane interstate at this time. This time I shut the car off myself and waited a couple of minutes to turn the car back on. I then drove another 45 minutes home. Then this morning, same warning in my driveway before I left to return it. There were issues with the blind spot warning not working some of the time as well as the display screen would flicker on and off or just become disabled but still visible. I have reported this to the rental company but I want that car off the road.

While driving I got "rear seat alert" followed by "Car Shutting down in 9 secs" message, it happened twice. The first time on Northern State Highway in NY. I was driving with my family, and the car unexpectedly shutdown happened. Nothing worked, I had no power, no steering, no brakes, all gone. Our luck was that I was already on the right lane and just had to let the car stop in the curbside. Because of the messages, we thought the rear door was opened or something. After a few minutes, after several tries, the engine started, and we exit the highway and parked on the local road to try to understand what happened. We decided to continue our trip on the service road. We end up on Ocenside, NY on a two lane, busy street and it happened again, but at this time I was not able to move the car to the curb, the car stop completely on the middle of the road, no steering, nothing. Because of the incoming traffic, our hazard lights alone were not enough to warn the coming traffic. We though that an accident was eminent, for which we called 911 for help. I could not get out of the car because of the speed of the incoming cars. After several attempts, the car turned on again, I parked on the curb and I called the AVIS Rental Roadside Assistance, because I was not going to put my family, including an 87 year old in jeopardy. After we got home from the long, stressful day. I searched internet and for my surprise, there were several posts (links) relating the same issue I had. Including recalls from Chrysler about a short circuit, which could even cause a fire. Chrysler issued a NO PARKING INSIDE note, which is hard to understand. I feel it is my obligation, as a family person, to report this incident, because this car should not be in the ROAD. Avis is currently RENTING this car. Furthermore, for my surprise, I saw a ad on NBC, 5pm yesterday, 07/26/2023. It is just a matter of searching on internet to see the DANGER that families are exposed.

Airbag / restraint failure

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,AIR BAGS

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11733424

I received the recall notification for Campaign 25V-302 regarding the Curtain Airbag (CAB) defect, which per the manufacturer's notice may fail to retain sufficient pressure during deployment, increasing the risk of occupant ejection through a side window during a crash. The notification informed us that no parts were available at that time. Many months later we received another notification that parts were now available. Upon contacting the dealer, I was informed that parts were not available. I have been waiting for parts to become available for an extended period. Most recently, the dealer scheduled a repair appointment for Tuesday of this week. Approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled appointment, the dealer called to cancel, stating that the parts were still not available. A new appointment was scheduled for the following week. As of today, the dealer has confirmed parts are still not available. Throughout this period, I have been required to continue operating the vehicle, including with my family as passengers, with a known, unremedied ejection-mitigation defect. The manufacturer has not offered a loaner vehicle or any alternative transportation, and no firm parts availability date has been provided. Concurrent stranding failure: Separately, today (23rd April), the vehicle failed to start in my driveway. Symptoms included: interior electronics (infotainment, lights) powered on, but the start button produced no response, the brake pedal would not depress (electronic brake booster inoperative), and the steering wheel remained locked. No error message was displayed. The vehicle was ultimately determined to have a dead 12V battery, the second battery failure on this vehicle, with the previous battery having been replaced under warranty by the dealer in August 2025 (only 8 months prior to this failure). The dealer has declined to investigate whether a parasitic electrical draw or other underlying defect is causing repeat battery failures.

Four separate incidents but related incidents. Primary concern: vehicle turns off and puts itself in park without notice and cannot be restarted. Two incidents were in traffic at a stop light, and the vehicle could not be started for 12-15 minutes. Two times it occurred while the vehicle had been parked for a short period of time but could not be restarted. March 4, 2026 driver was stopped at a light, after about 20 seconds, driver received a dash message “Press brake and push button to start” indicating the vehicle was off, and the vehicle was in park. Driver depressed the brake and the vehicle started. March 7, 2026 driver pulled into a store and when they excited the vehicle, they notice their carplay was still attached to their phone/music. Driver disconnected their phone but notice a dash message “auxiliary connected.” Driver attempted to start the vehicle, but it would not start, however all of the lights, carplay, messages were cycling as if the vehicle was on. When driver attempted to start the vehicle there was no give to the brake and the vehicle would not start. Driver was able to start the vehicle 15 minutes later. March 27, 2026: Driver was stopped at a light and the vehicle turned off and put itself in park. Driver had to contact police t0 block traffic to prevent vehicle from being hit. Vehicle started after 15 minutes. Driver immediately took the vehicle to the dealership. April 2, 2026: Dealership service technician called and said they could not recreate the problem, that all codes were checking out, however they did see a intermittent short in the crank sensor and it was replaced. April 3, Owner pick up the vehicle at 5:30, drove five miles away. Put the car in park to get fuel and the vehicle would not start. Again – “press brake and push button to start” was indicated on the dash but the vehicle could not be started. There is no warning to when this happens. No sputtering, engine noise, just unusual turns off and goes into park.

Returning from [XXX] to [XXX] area Wed. XXX, traveling at ~75 mph on [XXX], I experienced a loss of power on a mild incline and an associated “Stop Safely - Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon” instrument cluster message. I had to move hazardously in traffic while coasting to a stop on the right shoulder. This occurred with ~24,810 total miles on the vehicle since I purchased it new. I turned off the vehicle, waited a few minutes and then restarted it. I continued the drive with the vehicle acting normally until it happened again at 24,897 odometer miles, same message with same behavior. Traveling ~75 mph, I again had to move hazardously in traffic to coast to the right shoulder. Except now I notice the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) is illuminated. I again turned the vehicle off, waited a few minutes and then restarted it. I was able to drive normally to the Chrysler dealership (Autonation in Katy Tx) where I spoke to a Service representative. He recorded my VIN and took some notes as I explained what happened, but would not plug in a code reader as I requested. Instead he said I would need to leave the vehicle there for at least 24 hours or bring it back later. Since I was still ~55 miles from home, had my wife and cargo still in the vehicle and wanted to know what malfunction code(s) were present, we elected to drive the vehicle home. On the way home, I stopped at both an Advance Auto and an Autozone where both read the only code present as P0A43, see attachment. I also noted that the Emission Ready status was showing "NO". I then drove the vehicle less than a mile to our home where it has remained in my driveway. Mileage is now 24972 on the odometer. I plugged in and charged the vehicle to 100% high voltage battery state. Two days later on XXX, I started the vehicle and the MIL is no longer illuminated, still at 24972 odometer. The dealer promised me that the code would remain and could be read later, but it did not and nobody erased it. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT T

[XXX] First “Red Turtle” Breakdown on Freeway After about an hour of freeway driving, car went into “red turtle mode” (“limp mode”) on the freeway, alerting us that the engine would shut down shortly and that we needed to get to a safe place to stop. The car wouldn’t accelerate fully, putting us in danger on the freeway, where cars were speeding all around us. June 2025: Dealership’s First Attempt to Fix The dealership showed stored error codes P0A43 Drive Mode Code A Position Sensor Intermittent. But, the tech said they were unable to replicate the error. They kept it in the shop for a couple days, then sent the car home with us with no fix. They told us to restart the car a few times and it should go away. [XXX]: Second Breakdown on Freeway On [XXX], with all three kids in the car, we drove the car from Sacramento to San Rafael. On the way there–the first long car trip with the van since the [XXX] incident, the Red Turtle Alert appeared again. We were going uphill and unable to fully accelerate on the freeway, again putting our entire family in danger. We were luckily able to pull off of the freeway, restart the car several times, and continue driving–wondering the entire time whether the vehicle would again lose power, and sure enough it did. [XXX]: Third breakdown on freeway Later that same day, on our way home, the Red Turtle alert appeared again, the vehicle was unable to fully accelerate, and the message warned us that the car was about to shut itself down. This time, we were on the freeway with no exit available to us. We had to pull over onto an unprotected shoulder, with cars speeding by us on both sides. It would have been unsafe for any of us–but especially my toddlers–to exit the vehicle. We sat on the side of the freeway, restarting the car repeatedly, waiting to see if the Alert would clear and the vehicle would become drivable again. Eventually, it did. We brought the car to the dealership again. Spent over a week there INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT

Purchased new [XXX] from above. Towed/ driven to service over 3 attempts prior to 7/2023. Ongoing issue of vehicle FTS/intermittent FTS/vehicle cutting off while in gear. Multiple failed repairs, that would qualify for lemon. Parts replaced Summer 2023, minimal issues until 6/2025. 6/2025, FTS issues returned/dealer refused to run services; even with warranty. July 2025: van multiple FTS/error lights/eventually towed/loaner given. Constant claims issue could not be replicated at dealer. Go to p/u 8/8/25-would not start on lot, after being cleared. Chrysler tech sent out with no issues found per technician; although service manager reports he personally had multiple issues of FTS including AM of technician visit. Multiple conversations had with Mr. Sheets and Mr. Freeman. [XXX] FTS per “Red” at dealer prior to vehicle being returned to me; Foreman suggested ignition replacement/returned by dealer to residence that PM. RF Hub may need replaced, if issue reoccurred but shop refused to replace then. Van was taken to Pittsburgh, PA Labor Day weekend and FTS away from hotel on 9/2/25. Sheets provided loaner that PM at residence. RF hub replaced, van returned on 9/8/25. [XXX], van FTS at residence in late PM. 9/10/25, dealer contacted asking for service/loaner; no answers received. Drove after multiple FTS’s to dealer. Mr. Sheets stated “he can’t have me driving one of his cars for months” that dealer has “done all they can.” Also stated “Even though we’ve had issues from the start, there was a period where van functioned and ‘at least we got some use out of it.’ 9/19/25, Chrysler tech could not find issue and Mr. Freeman stated Mr. Sheets said “they will no longer pay for a rental going forward.” Multiple calls and media of vehicle failing to start. Vehicle unreliable/unsafe to operate on roadway. Vehicle not reliable to get to/from and cannot be relied upon in sudden event/ emergency; or if vehicle were to malfunction out of home area/in a dangerous environment. INFORMAT

Letter sent to AVIS after the incident: The image included is an example and not associated with incident Concern Regarding Recalled Rental Vehicle - Avis Rental Agreement [XXX] Dear Mr. Tucker, I am writing to share a concerning experience my wife and I had with an Avis rental. We rented a Chevrolet Pacifica Hybrid for a drive from Atlanta to Chicago. About an hour into our trip, the vehicle displayed a warning message: "Stop Safely. Vehicle will shut down soon." Following the instructions, we immediately pulled over, activated our hazard lights, and called Avis emergency roadside service while consulting the owner's manual. We then decided to move to a nearby gas station parking lot for safety. While still on hold, we researched the warning online (see link) and discovered it was a known recall for our vehicle. The recommended temporary fix—turning off the car, opening and closing the driver’s door, and restarting the engine—allowed us to continue. However, the warning appeared three more times during our trip, requiring us to stop and repeat the process. Though we managed the situation, it caused unnecessary stress and could pose a serious risk for other customers. After 15 minutes on hold, we disconnected from emergency road service as we no longer needed assistance. We called back later to inquire about switching vehicles, but chose to continue rather than delay our trip even further. This raises important questions: Why does Avis place vehicles with outstanding recalls into its rental fleet? What is Avis’s general approach to managing manufacturer recalls? If such vehicles are rented, why not inform customers in advance and provide a workaround? While I have contacted Avis/Budget about customer service concerns in the past, this is a safety issue. I urge you to escalate this matter to your management team and clarify how Avis plans to prevent similar situations. I would appreciate a formal response outlining your approach to recall management. See attached document for complaint. I am writing to you with deep concern to report a serious matter regarding the safety of a vehicle I recently purchased and to respectfully request your intervention in a case that endangers not only my safety as a consumer but also that of the passengers transported in this automobile. On XXXX X, XXXX, I purchased a 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Wagon 40 Touring L 3.GL VG, VIN number [XXX] , through Napleton Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, located at 1460 E Osceola Pkwy, Kissimmee, FL 34744. The vehicle was financed by XXXXXXXX XXXXXXX LLC under loan number XXXXXXX-XXXXXXX. Prior to the purchase, the sales representative informed me that the vehicle had a recall. However, I was assured that it was a minor issue of no real consequence and that I could take it to any Chrysler dealership the following day for immediate resolution. Unfortunately, this statement turned out to be entirely false. To my shock, when I went to the dealership to address the recall, I was informed that the issue was related to the rear seat airbags and that no solution is currently available from the manufacturer. Since then, I have visited several Chrysler dealerships seeking assistance, and in every case, I was told that nothing could be done until Chrysler provides an official remedy. As a provisional measure, I requested a replacement or loaner vehicle to ensure the safety of the occupants-particularly those seated in the rear seats-but I was instructed to contact Chrysler's customer service directly. On August 25, 2025, I contacted Chrysler's customer service and spoke with a representative named XXXXX, who documented my case in detail. During that call, I also reported that the vehicle is experiencing additional operational issues, specifically with the engine and steering. On several occasions, the steering has locked up, preventing the wheel from turning and creating an even greater risk of an accident. I firmly believe that this vehicle should never have been so
