I wanted to report that on this vehicle Ford has a very unsafe and hazardous horn. I just purchased the car and had to use the horn for the first time yesterday to avoid a car hitting me. I avoided an accident but the other driver said they did not hear my horn. The horn sound is not loud at all and i thought it was defective. I had others listen to it and they all were amazed at how ineffective the volume was. I did some research on line and found i am not the only one that complained about this to Ford. Apparently Ford changed the horn assembly in sometime after 2017 on the Ford Edge to save money. Apparently there is no federal standard for horn decibel levels on automobiles. I travel with small grandchildren in this car and feel this makes it unsafe, as many, many others do after researching this. It is a disaster just waiting to happen. Can you confirm that there are no regulations for automobile horns other than that they work? I just wanted to bring this up as it is dangerous to drove a vehicle like this. Interested in knowing if you have received any other complaints. Most of the research i have done shows owners actually having the horn assembly removed and replaced with one that actually works correctly at their own expense. Seems Ford should be held accountable for this defect. Seems the opted for profit over safety here. Thanks.

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11736811

I am reporting an ongoing and concerning issue with my 2022 Ford Edge. My vehicle has begun hesitating when pressing the accelerator and jerking or skipping, mainly when going from cruising/coasting to accelerating. Some days the issue is worse than others, but it has progressively made the vehicle feel unsafe to drive. At times, it feels as though the vehicle may break down while driving on the interstate in heavy city traffic with my child. After researching this issue, I have found that many other 2022 Ford Edge owners are experiencing the same symptoms, with the torque converter frequently identified as the cause. We had it scanned for codes even though nothing was showing up on the dashboard, and a code of U2107-68 came up, which doesn't make sense. This appears to be a widespread and recurring problem rather than an isolated incident. This behavior is not normal and raises serious concerns regarding drivability, safety, and long-term damage to the transmission. Given how common this issue appears to be among 2022 Ford Edge vehicles, I strongly believe this warrants further investigation and the establishment of a recall. Owners should not be financially responsible for a known and recurring manufacturing defect. I am requesting that Ford address this issue promptly and take responsibility for repairs associated with this problem. My family appreciates your review.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally report an ongoing and concerning issue with my 2022 Ford Edge. My vehicle has begun hesitating when pressing the accelerator and jerking between 20 mph and 40 mph. Some days the issue is worse than others, but it has progressively made the vehicle feel unreliable and unsafe to drive. At times, it feels as though the vehicle may break down while in motion. After researching this issue, I have found that many other Ford Edge owners are experiencing the same symptoms, with the torque converter frequently identified as the cause. This appears to be a widespread and recurring problem rather than an isolated incident. Additionally, the vehicle will coast between approximately 2,000 and 5,000$. This behavior is not normal and raises serious concerns regarding drivability, safety, and long-term damage to the transmission. Given how common this issue appears to be among Ford Edge vehicles, I strongly believe this warrants further investigation and the establishment of a recall. Owners should not be financially responsible for a known and recurring manufacturing defect. I am requesting that Ford address this issue promptly and take responsibility for repairs associated with this problem. I appreciate your time and look forward to a resolution. My 2022 Ford Edge Titanium (equipped with the 8F35 transmission) is exhibiting severe shuddering, jerking, harsh shifting, lurching, and hesitation. I just received the $8,500 cost estimate to rebuild the transmission on my car that is only 3 years old due to the torque converter failure. These faulty Ford Motor Co transmissions are on back-order due to so many failures across the country. This high out-of-pocket repair cost count is HALF of the money I still currently owe on this vehicle. It is available for inspection if someone comes to inspect it within the next couple of weeks because I have no choice but to have it repaired. I am a nurse who has a job to get to on a daily basis. It causes severe shuddering, harsh shifting, and sudden loss of power when I am traveling and trying to accelerate in traffic or cross dangerous intersections. It has been thoroughly inspected by a certified transmission mechanic who is very well versed on this same particular issue with all of these particular Ford Edge transmissions that enter his shop on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. Their were no warning lamps, messages, and no other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. The issues first starting appearing around a year after purchasing the car, so probably around XXX. I purchased the car from a Ford dealership in [XXX] on XXX. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

1st noticed problem- turning sharply to the right heard clunking coming from under car. Put car into reverse and felt like brake was on. But wasn't. Clunking stop when put back into forward and parked car. One hour later, drove a mile and a half home. No clunking until I backed into driveway. Clunking stopped after going in reverse about 10-15 feet. Drove to Dealer next morning. Couldn't get clunking to happen at quicklane. A few days later went to lunch and was backing into parking spot and clunking returned. After lunch drove to Dealer. They witnessed the clunking. Put car on hoist and checked obvious spots nothing found. Provided loaner and after determining differential was the problem. (almost $5000.00). Problem repaired next day. Had car about 2 weeks and clunking appeared when we were 3 hours away from Dealer. Called and made it to the dealer before closing. Clunking was noticed and this time at the dealer the transfer case was the issue. (Another $5000.00). They said this was the cause of the differential problems. After waiting for a week for ford to release a new transfer case, the car was again repaired. The mileage range of 400 to 1000 was given for the parts to get back in sync and stop making the clunking. We have now have about 600 miles after the last repair and an occasional clunking is still appearing. One more note. We will be traveling to Michigan from Florida in 2 weeks. (1771 miles). Is this car a lemon? Issues started after 60,000 checkup was done.

Airbag / restraint failure

AIR BAGS

44 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11718929

Airbag System Failure Warning - Dealer is unable to diagnose The ford pass app alerted me that my airbag system was not functioning and instructed me to not drive the vehicle and to have it towed to a dealership. This too me seemed like a very serious alert. I immediately called the dealer and brought the vehicle in to have it looked at. During the call the dealership technician confirmed for me that the problem had persisted for a couple of days prior and was concerned that I just found out about it. Naturally the day I took it in the light went off. The technician looked at it for over a day and ultimately said they could not determine the cause. They then advised me to continue driving the vehicle and only return when the warning appears again. I called Ford to get their take on this problem and to ask for help, and I got the same response, that there is nothing that the dealer can do unless the light is actively on. This contradicts fords own safety warning and leaves me driving a vehicle that may have a non-functional airbag system. I am reporting this because it appears to be a potential safety defect, and the dealership was unable to repair it. I am not sure if this is a defect of the airbag system itself, or the system that monitors the safety of the vehicle. If there is a couple days of specific warnings that ford and the dealer has access too, I wouldn't think that they would need the light to be actively on for diagnosis. I have attached a screenshot the warning in the ford pass app, however it will no longer let me view details that I had before, just the occurrence and warning name.
