SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20111029-1C43A-2147473827. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Matched catalog product: Microsoft Laptop wall charger with brick. Proprietary Microsoft Surface charger. Source model text: xbox 360 plug and play charger. Incident: Son's "plug and Play" charger for his xbox video game overheated. It got so hot that it melted a hole through the charger. I've called Microsoft several times regarding the issue, but each time they just tell me that they will have someone call. My son received a minor burn when unplugging this, but if we hadn't noticed it I believe it could have started a house fire.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20210426-98A6C-2147364495. Severity: Injury, Level of care not known. Product: Microsoft Laptop wall charger with brick. Proprietary Microsoft Surface charger. Incident: Microsoft Surface Charger gives electric shock when plugged in on one orientation. This is a charger for a Surface Laptop. I am using the product. The product is being used for home use (plugged in). The static electric effect seems enough to interfere with other grounded electric devices. The improper grounding can be reduced by changing the orientation of the non-polarized NEMA plug on the charger
