SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20150423-1DD8A-2147433488. Severity: Injury, Level of care not known. Matched catalog product: Shark Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away vacuum cleaner. Incident: I ordered a Shark upright vacuum cleaner from Amazon in November. It shocked me and anyone else who used it. I called Euro-pro and was made to feel very silly. The second time I called the gentleman was very understanding and asked me to not use it again. I ordered another one just like it and returned the defective one. The second one shocks me also. I have called Euro-pro too many times to count. I can never get through to a claims rep.

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 18, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20150426-A1CFA-2147433425. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Shark Vacuum Cleaner Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away vacuum cleaner (Shark Vacuum Cleaner Hand-Lift, Model UV56031). Incident: I bought a Shark Hand-lift vacuum cleaner by Euro-Pro at the end of March. The model number is UV56031. I heard about the recall of the NV560 models. My vacuum is white and not purple. However, it is also giving a very strong electrical shock when used. We have dogs and carpets and so a static charge is expected. However, we have been vacuuming for many years and never had a shock like this vacuum gives every time it is used. If my wife can vacuum the house in 5-8 minutes she can avoid the build up of the static charge. But this vacuum gives of a much stronger shock than we've experienced every before.
