SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20151128-EC394-2147426311. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Bosch HBL8650UC 11. Source model text: Bosch 30" 800 Series Double Convection HBL8650UC. Incident: The interior glass on my Bosch oven door shattered on Nov 27 2015 while in the cleaning mode. There was a loud noise and both my husband and I came at the same time from different parts of the house to find glass scattered on the kitchen floor and shattered glass piled up against the inside of the door as well as on the top of the bottom door. I was able to reach around and shut the cleaning cycle off without injury. Nothing has ever been dropped or bumped against the glass on the door. The oven was not very dirty but there was an area on the oven floor that needed to be cleaned so I set it for a short cycle, of 90 minutes, which was the setting that came up when I touched the clean button. The cycle was well past the first hour when it exploded.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260706-B6671-2147314374. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Bosch HBL8650UC 11 (Bosch 800 Series, 30-inch Self-Cleaning Convection Double Electric Wall Oven (Stainless)). Incident: On June 6, 2026, the two inner panes of glass in the top oven door of my Bosch double-wall oven suddenly exploded approximately one minute after I turned the oven off. I had broiled asparagus for eight minutes, removed the food, closed the door, and turned the oven off. About a minute later, both inner panes shattered violently inside the closed oven. The outer pane remained intact, but the explosion created a loud blast and sent glass fragments throughout the oven cavity, and the kitchen upon opening the door. Fortunately, no one was standing in front of the oven at the time. I have photographs documenting the damage and debris. This oven has a long history of defects and repairs, including: - Replacement of the instrument panel - Replacement of door hinges due to improper sealing - Recalibration for uneven heating (which has persisted) - Multiple service visits by the same authorized Bosch servicer ([REDACTED] Appliance Repair) The authorized technician who has serviced this oven for years advised that a diagnostic-only visit is unnecessary because they already know the repair required to restore safe operation (replacement of the shattered inner glass assembly). They did not claim to know the cause of the explosion, only the corrective action needed. I contacted Bosch immediately. Bosch initially stated they would cover the diagnostic (estimated at ~$300), but refused to disclose the actual cost. Bosch also refused to provide any written commitment to cover repair or replacement if the diagnostic confirms a defect. Bosch acknowledged that the diagnostic is required for B
