5 confirmed failure reports · Early signal · Data confidence: Low

Early signal (5 confirmed reports) suggests shorter ownership before failure (typical 10.5 mo), but that is not enough data for a D or F grade.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20241201-777C9-2147334923. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Matched catalog product: LG LREL6323S. Source model text: Model number is LREL6323S. Incident: Found a black splatter on the bottom of our oven 16th of November after a self cleaning cycle. Discovered that pieces of porcelain/paint from the inside the oven were coming from the fan, blowing out and melting on the bottom of the oven. Most concerning is that this has been going on for longer since it was not realized at the previous time of cleaning the oven 7-8 months ago. The concern is that the fan has been blowing small particles of porcelain/paint onto our food over the last 7-12 m since there clearly is paint/porcelain that melted on the bottom. I can used my finger nails to scrape up small specks of the blue from the bottom. I believe we have likely been eating porcelain/paint dust in our food over the last 7 - 12 m. This can not be healthy for our bodies, may lead to more stomach problems which I have had. And my husband had a horrible headache the day after using the self cleaning since porcelain/paint was melting and could be smelled in the air. May even find out that this leads to a cancer in the future.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250507-477C8-2147331477. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: LG LREL6323S (Product Description: The product is an LG electric range, model number LREL6323S. It is a freestanding stainless steel oven with a ceramic glass cooktop featuring five radiant electric burners. The range includes a digital control panel with touch-sensitive buttons, a large front-facing oven window, and a lower storage drawer. Key details: Brand: LG Model: LREL6323S Color: Stainless steel (silver-gray finish) Cooktop: Black ceramic glass with five radiant burner zones Oven Type: Electric convection oven with internal light Control Panel: Digital, located above the oven door Overall Dimensions (approximate): Height: 47.31 inches Width: 29.88 inches Depth: 28.94 inches The range is designed for standard household kitchen use, and was used as the main appliance for stovetop and oven cooking. The unit was installed and operated according to the manufacturers instructions, in a smoke-free, clean, single-family residential environment.). Incident: I am reporting a serious safety hazard involving an LG electric range, model LREL6323S, purchased new in March 2025. The product was installed in a residential kitchen and used solely for typical household cooking by an adult user. Within days of installation, the ceramic glass cooktop began sparking, especially when multiple burners were used. Shortly after, the surface developed permanent discoloration and cracking, despite normal cleaning with manufacturer-recommended products. Most alarmingly, even small splashes of cooking oil from a frying pan would ignite instantly on contact with the cooktop surface, creating a severe fire risk during ordinary use. Due to the sparking and open flame hazard, the user immediately discontinued use of the range and purchased a temporary portable electric burner for safety. In addition to the cooktop hazard, the control panel is defective. The oven frequently fails to re

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260627-4EC98-2147314931. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: LG LREL6323S (LG 30 in. 6.3 cu. ft. Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Fan Convection Electric Range Oven with AirFry and EasyClean in. Stainless Steel, Model Number LREL6323S). Incident: My LG electric range, model number LREL6323S, has a burner that repeatedly overheats while I am cooking food on it. While an electric cooktop, burner should cycle on and off depending on the setting level, this one will occasionally and unexpectedly cycle on and remain on indefinitely. This has ruined many food items and a few pots and pans. However, on one occasion it overheated a pan of oil, which began smoking so much that it was apparent that it would soon catch fire. It was serviced once under warranty, but that did not solve the problem. During my research into the problem, I observed on several platforms that many consumers are reporting the very same problem with LG ranges and I learned that the issue is caused by a faulty element control switch (part number EBF62174907), which was what was replaced during the warranty service mentioned above. While I searched multiple appliance parts sites, I noticed that many of them listed that part as the most commonly purchased part for LG electric ranges. Clearly, this range model and any other model that uses this control part is a fire hazard. The approximate occurrence date I am providing is just the first of several (hundreds) of occurrences. The most recent incident was on 06/26/2026.
