Reliability signal

—

6 confirmed failure reports · Early signal · Data confidence: Low

Early signal (6 confirmed reports) suggests shorter ownership before failure (typical 12 mo), but that is not enough data for a D or F grade.

Electric Blenders (215)

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 28, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20150217-C3112-2147435312. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Ninja Ninja PB051 Single-Serve Pods & Grounds Specialty. Source model text: Ninja Professional, ph. # 877-646-5288. Incident: I was using my Ninja Professional blender. I mixed the pancake batter and was unable to remove the top. I tried several grippers in order to remove it and it wouldn't bufge. I sat it upright on the counter and turned to do something else. All of a sudden there was a loud bang. The top flew off and went about 12 feet. The top contains the very sharp mixing blades and fortunately it did not fly in my direction or hit someone. The blades and force could have killed a child, pet or severely cut someone. Batter flew everywhere. I know that the lid was on straight. I have used this to mix this batter many times. I feel this is a great safety hazard. I did call the company about this incident but they seem to only be interested in settling a claim for damages. I do not feel that is an issue, but product safety is the issue.

Food Processors (275)

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 28, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250927-BCD62-2147327495. Severity: Injury, Seen by Medical Professional. Matched catalog product: Ninja Ninja PB051 Single-Serve Pods & Grounds Specialty. Source model text: Bn600. Incident: I purchased a Ninja professional food processor. On 9/26/2025. The purpose for the purchase was to puree food for my 3 month old baby. I decided my purchase by observing the labeling on the box in the store. Considering what I needed the product for it seemed sufficient for the task. I brought the product home. That day I looked at the packaging a 2nd time looking for any warnings prior to opening. The only thing observed was fruit vegetables cookie dough and individual parts of the product. I proceeded to open and then read the instructions. Included is a quick start guide, owners guide and a food prep, dough making 101 one page guide. The first 2 materials that I read were the quick start guide and the owners guide. With in contents there are warnings that the product contains sharp objects. It is not cleary depicted that it can cut body parts off. I did not have a clear warning of it slicing human flesh. The illustrations and recipes only depicted fruits vegetables and cookie dough. My blade was sitting in my strainer drying not oscillating. I simply added an object to my strainer. Thats when the tip of my little finger along with the nail was severed off. None of the pictures or recipes included elude to the fact the blade is sharp enough to handle meat. Excersize care when handling blade under before first use does not explain clearly why. Are we Excersizing care to avoid damage of product? Again #3 blade being sharp. Does not say or illustrate the severity of sharpness.

Electric Coffee Makers or Teapots (217)

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 18, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20251006-DB065-2147327298. Severity: Injury, First Aid Received by Non-Medical Professional. Product: Ninja Ninja PB051 Single-Serve Pods & Grounds Specialty (Ninja PB051 Single-Serve Pods & Grounds Specialty Coffee Maker). Incident: I was using my Ninja PB051 Single-Serve Pods & Grounds Specialty Coffee Maker this morning to make a cup of coffee. I have had the product for less than a year and only use bottled water. I ensure after each use the product is clean. However, this morning, I put in a pod and pressed to brew 12 oz. After a moment of it trying to dispense water (but not dispensing), lights on the top began to flash and smoke came billowing out the top. I shut it off and went to open the top (expecting that there was something burning inside and I would need to extinguish it) but very hot coffee grounds exploded all over my kitchen. They ended up on my arms, my shirt, my pants, my floor, my wall, my carpet, the stove, the refrigerator. I now have a blistering burn on my arm.
