Government / agencyIndexed Oct 28, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250731-6854E-2147329040. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Samsung NX58M6630S. Source model text: NX58M6630SS. Incident: I note that Samsung is supplying consumers with knob covers on their electric stoves because of accidental activation. I have a Samsung GAS range and the same thing happens. I used today's date below, but this has happened approx 10 times over the last 3 months. Its very easy to have the knob turn if you bump into it. No one has be injured.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20240810-CA2DE-2147337326. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Samsung NX58M6630S. Source model text: Model #NX58M6630SG/AA. Incident: Our greyhound dog turned on Samsung gas stove flame on two different occasions by pressing the stove knob by putting her paws up on the stove. First time was when we brought her home for the first time on January 6, 2024. She turned on the flame again a week later. We then bought universal size stove knob guards that do not fit the Samsung knobs. I looked for information on how to make the stove childproof/pet proof but found nothing helpful. We ended up taking off the stove knobs and fencing off our kitchen so that the dog could not turn on the stove again. I understand that Samsung is recalling its electric stoves because they are not pet or child safe. The gas stoves have the same problem and should also be recalled.

Incident: Our Samsung Range model # NX58M6630SG/AA started acting erratically, the control board, flashing different numbers, no codes than went into self cleaning mode. It would not turn off, had to unplug it. In my research I found many have had this problem and replaced the control board to have it start over again. Some have almost started fires. Am having to replace this appliance.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20190218-FEA0E-2147382635. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Samsung NX58M6630S (Freestanding, Samsung Gas Range, Model number NX58M6630S, Serial Number 0f8p7ddk40z46e). Incident: On February 13, the panel that controls oven functions on my Samsung Gas Range, which we have owned since August 1, 2018, Model number NX58M6630S, Serial Number 0f8p7ddk40z46e, ceased to function causing me to be unable to shut off the 425 degree oven. This same control panel had been replaced on or about November 29, 2018 for a similar occurrence. Any time I cook something on the range burners and use the oven at the same time, the control panel malfunctions. One time this happened, various oven functions were randomly turned on and off until the panel cooled down. Because I am unable to reliably cancel oven functions and because oven functions randomly begin, I am very afraid of this gas range causing a fire. I believe that Samsung should remove this gas range from being sold until this manufacturing defect is resolved
