Government / agencyIndexed Oct 16, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20201219-A1E24-2147367370. Severity: No Incident, No Injury. Product: Allen Roth ZHS-30-A (Electric fireplace, Lowes item #466656. Allen Roth brand, 62 wide, 120-BTU infrared quartz electric fireplace. Model #FEBO-ZHS-30-A. Serial #133005430512. Date code. 0714). Incident: A couple Sundays ago I started up the fireplace before bedtime to warm the house. It was making a clicking noise but I didnt think much of it. My son was cold and wanted the fireplace on for bedtime. I assumed the clicking was since it was the first time started up this year. We went to bed and when I woke up the fireplace and TV that sits on top of the fireplace were off. Not exactly sure what happened but I assumed something was wrong with the fireplace. It kicked the breaker while we were sleeping. Then this week I got the recall notice on this unit. No one was injured, no apparent fire, no visible damage to the unit from the exterior. It is terrifying to think that this could have caught fire while we were sleeping and could have burnt my house down and Possibly killed us. What is to say this wont happen again? I do not feel safe with this product in my home and would prefer a refund.
