10 confirmed failure reports · Early signal · Data confidence: Low

Early signal (10 confirmed reports) suggests shorter ownership before failure (typical 10.5 mo), but that is not enough data for a D or F grade.

I was driving on the freeway and was between two cars. The car on my right was trying to merge into me. I immediately was breaking while trying to control steering. I attempted to honk three times and my honk horn would not work. In a case of an emergency, that is absolutely unacceptable a car like this should be able to honk.

Car has been asleep after parking and will not wake up leaving all electrical components dead. GM has not been able to repair and unfortunately this has occurred 5 times including twice the month of March, 2026. Having a car parked in an unsafe location and not being able to move it very unsettling. After 30-60 minutes the car will start back up and operate normally.

Telematics module failed and the vehicle couldn’t connect to emergency OnStar services if involved in crash. GPS also doesn’t work with a faulty module. No cellular or WiFi connectivity. Car reroutes to somewhere without this module working. I’m paying for the OnStar subscription but with a faulty module it can’t connect. GM says part back ordered with no ETA. Thousands of people are reporting the same problem and it should be a recall at this point.

Stopped at the West Bound Thruway Seneca service area. After returning to the vehicle, multiple error messages were displayed on screen. "Have Power Steering Serviced, Service Stabilitrak, Service Headlamps, AWD Tempoarily Unavailable" Steering was the main issue. It was almost impossible to turn and steer. It was fortunate that it was after a stop and not while driving. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but it has yet to be determined why the steering failed.

AIR BAGS,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11759823

On XXX, I was involved in a collision with my 2025 Cadillac Lyriq with vin # [XXX]. in which my vehicle struck a parked car, then a tree, then a curb, in sequence, at approximately 30 mph. The vehicle continued onto the curb after the final impact. All passengers sustained injuries and required X-rays and medical treatment. There were no warning lights or dashboard indicators prior to the collision suggesting any system malfunction. During the collision, the front airbags did not deploy despite multiple significant impacts. Additionally, Automatic emergency braking didn't engage as it should Following the collision, inspection showed extensive front-end damage including damage to the tires, suspension, and cross member, hood, grill, fender etc. requiring full front-end replacement. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate the non-deployment of the airbag system and the brake failure in relation to this incident. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

15 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11768447

My 2025 Cadillac LYRIQ has approximately 12,000 miles. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has unexpectedly applied the brakes and come to a sudden, forceful stop even though there was no visible vehicle, pedestrian, or obstacle requiring emergency braking. During the most recent incident, the abrupt stop caused my body to move forcefully and I developed neck pain. This creates a serious risk of injury, loss of control, or being struck from behind. The vehicle has also displayed “AWD Temporarily Unavailable,” ABS/brake warnings, vibration while braking, steering vibration, and shaking during acceleration. These symptoms began before the latest sudden-braking incident and have continued after a previous software update. I attempted to obtain diagnosis and repair through Pepe Cadillac and North Bay Cadillac. I was told at different times that the vehicle could not be serviced promptly, that there was no technician or loaner available, or that the vehicle did not have applicable warranty coverage because it was previously a fleet vehicle or was not purchased from that Cadillac dealership. GM/Cadillac Customer Care has also been contacted repeatedly, but the safety problem remains unresolved and no complete diagnosis or permanent repair has been provided. The vehicle remains available for inspection. I request that NHTSA associate this complaint with Engineering Analysis EA26006 concerning the Gen 2 eBoost system/Electronic Brake Control Module and review the vehicle’s event data, stored diagnostic codes, service history, braking system, Automatic Emergency Braking system, ABS, AWD system, and EBCM.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11698753

I was driving about 40 MPH, message popped "camera blocked, clean front windshield" I did and the message cleared. A few minutes later it came back so I cleaned the windshield again. What happened next shocked me. Without any warning while traveling 30 mph the automatic braking system came on and stopped the car quickly. Thank God for my seatbelt! My backpack that was in the back seat came flying to the front. No warning at all! I called the dealer and brought the car t them. They told me they need to load new software in the car that would take 5-6 hrs. They did the software and told me that it should be all set now. I picked up the car and drove it home. A few days later an incident more alarming happened! I was at a traffic light, car stopped and auto hold when suddenly the car accelerated on its own. I pumped the break several times and the car eventually stopped. I was terrified. I called the dealer and brought the car there the next morning. Dropped it of Saturday morning. I call Monday afternoon and spoke with the service person and he told me they could not replicate what happened and that there were no bulletins from Cadillac. I asked how they tested it and he told me they took it for a ride and also looked for any errors recorded in the cars memory. I said it happened to me once in 2 days so taking it for a short ride will not necessarily repeat what happened. He said they will hold the car and look at a few more things today. I just spoke to the dealer and they told me they drove the car for 15 minutes and found no issues. They also said they are looking for any bulletins on the car. Not sure what the outcome will be but these 2 incidents could have both been very ugly and people could have gotten very hurt. I ask myself...should I be driving this car!
