Six months after purchase, the vehicle exhibited abnormal vibration while driving and accelerating, along with hesitation. An undisclosed recall was identified but had no remedy. The vehicle later shut off independently at a red light and required multiple restart attempts. A pump was replaced at the dealer, but the issue recurred. Eventually the engine failed completely, the vehicle could not be restarted, the check engine light illuminated, and the vehicle began smoking while stopped in the roadway. A following vehicle rear-ended the disabled car; airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was not repaired.

While driving, the vehicle suddenly lost the ability to accelerate, idled very roughly, and the check engine light illuminated. The car would not exceed 35 mph and felt as though it might stall when turning corners. After dropping the vehicle off at a Nissan dealership, the owner was informed a week later that the engine had failed.
