I immediately unplugged the [REDACTED] charger (nothing was plugged into it), the Anker USB C to USB C cable and one other cable. The Anker USB C cable was plugged into my [REDACTED] over USB C at the time of the incident. My husband took the item out to the driveway for safety as it continued smoking for awhile. The other cables that were plugged in had the same smoky smell as well. If we were not home or if I was in another room this would have likely caused a lot of damage to our home, pets, etc. I used Anker all the time and reported the incident to them and sent them photos. I have the device here. Anker has asked me to send it back but i want to make sure this is investigated as a full on fire could have occurred. The damage is internal to the device as we caught it quickly thankfully.
