SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260603-6773C-2147318050. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Electrolux EFME627UIW. Source model text: EFME627UIW0. Incident: An Electrolux front-load electric dryer, model EFME627UIW0 (600 series), approximately 7 years old, experienced an internal electrical fire during normal residential laundry use. A household member noticed a burning smell coming from the dryer during operation and immediately turned it off and unplugged it. Upon inspection after the unit failed to power on, significant fire damage was discovered inside the dryer cabinet. The damage included a completely melted and charred wiring harness connector at the control board, scorched and melted anti-vibration pads, and soot damage to surrounding internal components. The failure appears to be an arc fault at a control board connector. There were no physical injuries. The quick response of the household member in shutting down the appliance prevented what could have been a more serious fire event. Photos of the damage have been retained.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250515-DF397-2147331288. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Electrolux EFME627UIW. Source model text: Model # EFME627UIW0/EFME627UIW0. Incident: Electrolux dryer caught on fire. I was drying a load of towels and noticed the dryer had turned off. Thinking the towels were done, I opened the front door and smoke came billowing out. I immediately shut the door, ran to my electrical panel in the garage and cut the power to the laundry room. My son and I pulled the dryer away from the wall and unplugged the unit. I also disconnected the dryer vent hose from the unit. The back of the unit was hot to the touch. After it cooled down, we removed the top of the dryer and saw the fire originated from the circuit board at the top of the dryer. Cover is black from fire. No one was injured.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20241014-370D2-2147335986. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Electrolux EFME627UIW. Incident: Electrolux dryer model EFME627UIW bought 6 years ago caused a smell of fire in our home. The technician that came to repair it, removed the top panel which was burnt and found that the control and wiring harness had burned. This appliance malfunction could have potentially caused a fire in our home and it poses a fire hazard to consumers. It is important to note that we are diligent in maintaining the dryer and take care to remove lint after every cycle to ensure proper functioning and safety. The dryer was used by myself at that time, with a normal cycle selected and a normal load of clothes, as usually done in our home. Fortunately, there were no injuries or damages beyond the dryer itself, which was deemed too costly to repair.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20191022-DB4E7-2147377011. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Electrolux EFME627UIW (Electrolux Dryer Model EFME627UIW). Incident: RE: Electrolux dryer Model EFME627UIW We purchased an Electrolux washer/dryer set from Grand Appliance Store in Madison, WI. Our salesperson said that Electrolux had re-designed the lint screen to catch more. Our dryer set was delivered around March 22, 2019. With only the second load of laundry, the lint screen came out during the cycle. Approximately seven socks went down the vent area and one was caught. We could not remove it and called Electrolux. They said the lint screen coming out was "user error" and were going to charge us for the service visit. They did agree to send someone out at no charge and the sock was removed. The vent continued to come out or get caught on clothing. We were extremely concerned about a fire risk, but Electrolux would not stand behind their product. Grand Appliance was concerned and replaced the dryer with the same model. The same thing happened again!!!! We had the repair company come out and Electrolux did tell the repairman that they were aware of ten other instances of this happening, but would not authorize return. Unfortunately, Grand would not let us return the dryer. We called again and had more service appointments. Electrolux did not want us to submit our videos - they would only accept them from a repair service, which was a waste of time and resources. Finally, after months of emails with Electrolux stating our concern about a fire hazard, they acknowledged that the model did have concerns and said they didn't need to look at the videos we have because it is happening so often. I do have videos from both dryers if you would like
