If someone, or God forbid, a child touched that it could lead to sever injuries. These appliances usually have safety or failsafe mechanisms that shut them off when the lid is lifted. Since the heating element in the lid can achieve temperatures of 450 degrees Fahrenheit, there is a huge danger if it stays on when the lid is opened. The fryer was also powering on without being prompted and the heating element was on while the fan was not, which could start a fire if left unattended for any length of time. (for instance while one is sleeping) We can't now, without concern, even move away from it unless its unplugged from the outlet. I believe the public should be warned before someone gets seriously hurt, or a serious fire occurs. BedBathandBeyond.com Gourmia.com [REDACTED]
