Reliability signal

—

5 confirmed failure reports · Early signal · Data confidence: Low

Early signal (5 confirmed reports) suggests shorter ownership before failure (typical 22 mo), but that is not enough data for a D or F grade.

Gas Ranges or Ovens (279)

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 22, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20240119-FE1C5-2147342636. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: LG LDG4313ST. Source model text: lg-LDG4313ST. Incident: We purchased an LG gas range and it has been leaking gas at burner over the past few days. We believe this was a faulty unit when installed and the problem has gotten worse and hence we detected the smell. The installer confirmed yesterday that the connection point is not faulty and all the burners leak gas (when the knobs are off, we smell gas). The installer recommended replacement of the unit and has turned it off for safety reasons. I am concerned for other owners if this problem may be dormant and may worsen over time. I am also concerned that when I called LG they are claiming the first appointment for a technician would be to arrive in 4-5 days from today (Jan 19, 2024). LG claims this is their standard process which is very problematic as gas leaks are generally considered serious issue. And surprisingly, someone in the president's office noted this is not the first time they had this issue and they will send a technician only during weekdays.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20221113-76410-2147352698. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: LG LDG4313ST. Incident: We own an LG double oven stove, model # LDG4313ST, which was bought in Jan. 2020. Flames are coming out of the convection oven from the fan area, when it is in use. It almost set the parchment paper we used on the baking tray on fire, but we caught it in time. The oven is a fire hazard and we have stopped using it.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250222-B5D0A-2147332973. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: LG LDG4313ST. Incident: When I bought my house, there was already installed an LG gas range with a dual oven (Model number LDG4313ST) On multiple occasions, the slightest accidental bump or brush against the knobs has either turned the gas on or lit the fire on the associated burner on my stove. While wearing my baby in a carrier and simply walking past (not cooking) her foot bumped the knob and ignited the burner (no injury I turned it off right after) and I have bumped it walking past or leaning to grab a spice or something (thankfully no injuries at this time). I live in fear of my cat jumping up and turning it on when I'm asleep because it is just that easy to ignite or to turn on the gas. The knobs are also too large for most baby proofing covers (I've wasted money trying them) so I don't know what else to do. Today is the most recent occurrence but it has happened multiple times.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20170610-3E086-2147399812. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: LG LDG4313ST. Incident: This gas range has knobs that turn on if barely touched. We have had several incidents. Our painter covered the stove with a tarp and leaned over it to paint the wall; the tarp caught fire. On several occasions we have walked by the stove, barely brushing against the knobs, and the gas turns on - sometimes with and sometimes without the flame. Last week we opened the front door to a wave of gas odor; our dog managed to nudge one of the knobs and the gas leaked for over an hour. I'm lucky because I do not have small children, however, I need to remove the knobs to be safe in my own home. This product is a safety hazard. LG refuses to acknowledge that there is an issue. I should not have to look at a beautiful $1500 range in my kitchen without knobs for fear of my home catching fire or blowing up.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260213-8CA48-2147323601. Severity: No Incident, No Injury. Product: LG LDG4313ST (LG 6.9 cu. ft. Gas Double Oven Range with ProBake Convection in Stainless Steel. Model #LDG4313ST / 00 Internet/Catalog # 206290120 Product Code: FB4753LS.ASTELGA Serial # 608KMQG06732 Manufactured: August 2016). Incident: I am submitting a safety complaint regarding an LG gas double oven purchased new from Home Depot at the end of 2016 (Model: LDG4313ST). Over the life of this appliance, our household has experienced multiple safety-related failures involving both gas operation and electrical components. Historically, the unit exhibited abnormal flame behavior in the lower oven (Flames Shooting-Out of the Oven), requiring service intervention. We later experienced electrical faults in the upper oven, including shorting, repeated breaker trips, and damage to the wall outlet that required replacement by an electrician. The upper oven subsequently failed, and the unit began exhibiting cross-impact issues between the two ovens. Most recently, on December 24 of this year, the lower oven failed completely. LG-authorized service diagnosed the root cause as failure of the main control board (motherboard). LG supplied a replacement control board that did not physically match the original configuration and did not support all required wiring connectors. The technician contacted LG for guidance and WAS INSTRUCTED BY LG THAT UNMATCHED ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS COULD BE LEFT UNCONNECTED. GIVEN THAT THIS IS A GAS APPLIANCE WITH A DOCUMENTED HISTORY OF ELECTRICAL FAULTS AND ABNORMAL FLAME BEHAVIOR, guidance to leave electrical connectors unused raises SERIOUS CONCERNS ABOUT A FIRE RISK AND FAMILY SAFETY CONCERNS. At present, we do not feel it is safe to operate this appliance in our home. The unit remains unusable, and our household has incurred ongoing disruption and expense while awaiting a safe resolution.
