SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20240809-B29CC-2147337355. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Samsung ne58k9500sg. Source model text: NE58. Incident: Slide-in range NE58K9430SS - smelled smokey/electrical smell. Samsung-recommended repairman found fan motor not working correctly indicated fluid running from top motor to lower motor was cause of issue -"fortunate noticed before a fire was started". Those were replaced - the after using only 1-2 times oven stopped heating. HE then replaced the "relay board" after wait of almost a month for the part. Now see recall regarding "accidental starting" and need to replace switches.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20220907-15D31-2147353987. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Matched catalog product: Samsung ne58k9500sg. Source model text: NE58K9500SG/AA. Incident: Samsung slide in range model # NE58K9500SG/AA glass stovetop has cracked and been replaced twice. Both times the stovetop was not being used and nothing touching it. The last time the Samsung tech said it was physical damage and not a defect which was totally false. Samsung replaced the top the first time but refused to replace it a second time. My wife was wiping down the top with a sponge and received an electric shock when water fell into the stove through a crack. We are continuing to use the stove because we cannot afford a replacement at this time.

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 16, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20200211-ACB40-2147374883. Severity: Injury, Level of care not known. Product: Samsung ne58k9500sg (ne58k9500sg samsung slide-in electric range, purchased in 2017). Incident: Our electric Samsung range (model NE58K9500SG) has caused many injuries and damage. The knobs are so easily bumped that you barely touch them and they ignite on high. Numerous items have been melted and burned, the stove has been on for hours without anyone knowing. I have suffered burns myself trying to remove the items from the stove before they catch fire. It happened when we were installing the stove, resulting in the entire protective plastic and foam cover melting on top. Pizza stones have exploded due to the unknown. At least with a gas stove you generally have the clicking and smell, with the electric there is no noise or smell which makes it even more dangerous. It is easy enough to turn on that our one year old can turn the stove on in one second. We cannot leave anything anywhere near the stove when it is not in use. Samsung's response is to get a third party child safety cover for THEIR product. That is not a solution, there should be no reason to need to buy a third party child safety product to fix their poor design. There is no reason the stove should be so easily ignited, whether it be by a 1 year old, pet, or an adult. We have never regretted a purchase so much in our lives. We live in fear, Samsung needs to either develop a child safety replacement knob and/or recall the stove. Someone is going to end up dying from a careless design.
