SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20190824-B41D9-2147378094. Matched catalog product: LG LRE30757ST. Source model text: LRE30757ST /01. Incident: We own an electric LG stove and while using the cook top, one of the burners would not turn off after repeated attempts it would just turn itself back on when pressing the off button. It also appeared as though the surface was getting hot to an unsafe and dangerous point. At that time we disconnected the power supply. Thinking this was odd I checked into any recalls for this product and found that similar ranges in the same manufacturing time period were effected with a defect and are on recall. I called LG and they were unwilling to assist us in this because the serial number was not within the recalled range. I feel that this recall needs to be extended and that LG should be responsible for repairing this dangerous hazard

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20130126-5AE55-2147459454. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: LG LRE30757ST. Incident: When I first purchased my lg lre30757 electric range I had trouble the first time that I ran the self clean. The unit got so hot that the thermostat malfunctioned and shut the entire range off with the door locked shut. Lg sent a repairman that had to replace the thermostat before the door could be opened. LG did replace the entire range under warranty, however, the new unit did exactly the same thing and after that LG would not do anything to help me and I had an extended warranty and that company never did get the problem fixed either and then the extended warranty ran out and the issue was never resolved. The unit gets extremely hot when running the self clean and at temperatures over 350 degrees. It also makes a very loud continous noise when using the convection bake or roast.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20121108-28DDF-2147462113. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: LG LRE30757ST. Incident: I own a LG Electric Range, model number LRE30757ST, mfg in 2009. I bought it from Best Buy. One 11-6-12, I set it to self clean. I noticed a smell that was worse than I have ever smelled when using the clean feature, it smelled like burning rubber, and quickly the house became immersed in the smell, even though we opened all the windows. It also burned my throat after awhile. I stayed outside, and soon began to smell the fumes coming out of the house, even though I was sitting quite a ways from my sliding door that was open. The clean feature had been running for about an hour when I became concerned and went in to check the range. The top of the range was so hot you couldn't touch it, as well as the stainless steel along the top of the range. The oven door was just as hot. I felt the sides of the range, as it sits between two cabinets made of wood. It smelled hot and I became concerned that it may be burning rubber around the glass top. I noticed the gasket on the oven door looks burned, and is no longer plyable, it looks stiff from being burned. I turned it off and haven't used it since. I have used the clean feature before, and it has never gotten that hot. It would have caused serious burns if someone touched it without knowing, it seems to me there is no need to lock the oven in clean feature, if the rest of the range is as hot on the outside, as it is on the inside. Today, 11-8-12, I noticed a recall on this range, (Release # 13-031 dated 11-8-12) so I am submitting thi

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20181220-A7D18-1818531. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: LG LRE30757ST (electric range). Incident: The submitter is reporting her range for posing a fire hazard. She is aware her range was included in recall # 13-031 and she had an incident with the unit on July 20, 2018. She then contacted the firm and received the recall repair. However, she believes the unit has not been rectified. On December 6, she was baking a cake in the oven and had set the oven to 350 degrees. She also had a pot on the front left burner. After approximately 30 minutes of use, her daughter advised her that flames were emitting from the oven. She used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire. The unit has been unplugged and has not been used since the incident. She contacted the firm and reported the incident. She was told that a technician would go out and inspect the unit. They also informed her that the unit did not need to be plugged in during examination. However, when the technician arrived he told her the unit had to be plugged in. She refuses to plug in the unit because she is worried an incident will occur. She told the firm she would plug in the unit if they provided a letter taking responsibility of any future incident that occurred but the firm refused.
