6 confirmed failure reports · Early signal · Data confidence: Low

Early signal (6 confirmed reports) suggests shorter ownership before failure (typical 4.5 mo), but that is not enough data for a D or F grade.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20240716-13A7B-2147337950. Matched catalog product: Samsung NE63T8111SS. Incident: Samsung oven model NE63T8111SS (SKU: 6412697) and had a terrifying experience with it. Today, we had a fire in the kitchen, and the cause was the overly sensitive knobs on this model. It appears that even the slightest accidental touch or brush against the knobs can turn the burners on, creating a significant fire hazard.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20210119-13E2D-2147366407. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Samsung NE63T8111SS (Samsung 6.3 cu. ft. slide-in range in stainless steel Model NE63T8111SS). Incident: My husband and I recently purchased this range and quickly discovered that it's a fire hazard. For some strange reason, the knobs that control the burners are located on the front and each time someone in the household reaches into a cabinet above the range, our hips bump the knob and turn the burner on. This has happened multiple times and there is no other way to reach into the cabinet above without bumping the knob. I contacted Samsung about this previously to no avail. This evening, my husband reached for his vitamins and didn't realize that his hip pressed the knob and about 10 mins later, we started smelling smoke so we ran downstairs and realized that the burner was on high and was burning my freshly baked cupcakes. This could have resulted in severe injuries or even death if the food on the stovetop had gone up in flames. Our smoke alarms work but we smelled the smoke about 1 minute before they went off. PLEASE check on this before someone gets severely injured or killed!!

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20230312-E25F7-2147348816. Severity: Injury, Emergency Department Treatment Received. Product: Samsung NE63T8111SS (Kitchen stove, electic). Incident: Electic Stove: Samsung 30 in. 6.3 cu. ft Slide-in Electric Range Model NE63T8111SS. Background: We noticed in January 2023 the top right stove burner was inadvertly turned on and melted a plastic container on the stovetop. I am not clear how the stove burner was inadvertently turned on. The burner control knob on the front panel has to be pushed in and turned for the burner to heat up. Perhaps when the cook is cleaning the stove top, the control knob is inadvertently push in and turned then does not notice the orange color heat indicator on the stove top. On March 3, 2023 about 5pm, we experienced a neighborhood power outage (probably due to downed trees from storms). The power was restored March 4 about 2:30 am while we were asleep. At about 5 am, our kitchen smoke alarm was sounding and woke us up. I rushed to the kitched and saw smoke and fire on the stovetop. My wife was already attempting to extinguish the fire when the fire flared up and caught her hair on fire. She quickly extinguished her hair and rushed to the bathroom while I turned off the front right stovetop burner and continued to extinguish the remaining flames. Apparently, the stovetop burner was inadvertently turned on during the power outage and became hot when power was restored. Our house would have burned down if my wife and I had not extinguished the fire. After the fire was extinguished, I rushed my wife to the emergency room where she was found to have 2nd degree burns on her right hand, face, and neck. She still is suffering physically from the effects of the fire.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260831-F5EF2-2147310781. Severity: No Incident, No Injury. Product: samsung NE63T8111SS (The product is a Samsung Freestanding Electric Range (Stove/Oven combo) with a stainless steel and black finish. It features a smooth ceramic glass cooktop with 5 heating elements and front-mounted control knobs. The appliance operates on a 240V electrical connection. The primary safety issue involves the manufacturer-provided plastic knob safety locks (the official recall remedy), which are meant to prevent accidental activation but are easily bypassed and removed by a toddler.). Incident: I am filing a formal safety complaint against Samsung regarding my electric range model NE63T8111SS/AA (Serial Number: 0HEW7DCRB06160Y). This specific appliance model is subject to an official federal safety recall due to severe, documented fire hazards caused by accidental knob activation.Samsung recently sent me their official remedy, which consists of plastic knob safety locks. This corrective action has completely failed to secure the appliance. My 18-month-old daughter can easily remove, open, and bypass these plastic locks, leaving the burner knobs fully exposed to her touch. This failure creates an active, imminent, and extreme fire hazard, as well as a severe risk of burns and injury to my toddler. In addition to this safety hazard, the appliance is mechanically malfunctioning: one burner has failed completely after only 4 years of use, and the remaining control switches are operating defectively. When I contacted Samsung Customer Support to report that their official recall safety remedy failed to protect my child, they refused to send a technician unless I paid out-of-pocket, citing that my commercial warranty had expired. As a low-income household with no financial resources to pay for a private technician, it is highly negligent for Samsung to demand payment to resolve a critical, active fire risk caused by a defective remedy on a recalle
