The product was plugged into a wall outlet and sitting in the middle of the floor. No injuries occurred.

It was purchased on Amazon.com, I got the description and when I bought it from my order history. Today I was using it and the blade mechanism became loose while using it. Then there was a smell of smoke. I removed the pitcher and blade mechanism. The turning rod at the base of the unit has been stripped by the loose mechanism. The whole unit is now useless. I am unhappy because up and til now I have been really happy with the unit. Now I can't use it. Can you please let me know what I should do? I saw your recall on the mechanism.

My family is concerned about the possibility of a fire so we discontinued its use. Incident: Sent this to the manufacturer: This unit worked fine for a few years but this past month started acting up. It would trip a house fuse repeatedly. I thought it was my home's electrical issue but electrician found a burned out outlet inside wall. Tried using A/C after repair but kept tripping fuse. I ran an extension cord to try different outlet and the A/C worked but we noticed after a while that the extension cord began melting. It caused smoke and nearly a fire. I have pictures if you wish to see. Obviously I have stopped using the unit. Thank you.

Incident: Our Haier HLC1700AXW ventless combination washer/drier unit stopped working a couple months ago without warning or error code. Recently, we decided to investigate to see if we could resell the unit since we are moving. I opened the back to install the shipping bolts and noticed the acute smell of burnt plastic. I removed the top and clearly saw signs of electrical fire. Upon investigation we found that the wire harness, plastic, and control board connections had melted and fused.
