While operating under Full Self-Driving (FSD), the vehicle phantom-braked abruptly and then accelerated through red lights into cross-traffic intersections on multiple occasions, requiring forceful driver override to prevent a crash. Tesla Service performed a camera recalibration and charged a fee, after which the red-light running stopped, but aggressive phantom braking continued on every trip, posing an ongoing rear-end collision risk.

While using Full Self-Driving (FSD) on the highway at over 50mph, the vehicle suddenly braked hard with no obstacle directly ahead. A car to the right was swerving into the lane, and while the system appeared to react to that, the owner reports it should have steered left rather than braking abruptly in the fast lane with a vehicle close behind.
