SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20241216-3729A-2147334574. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Frigidaire LFEF3054TFG. Incident: The outside glass on my Frigidaire range oven door (LFEF3054TFG, VF90221347) which is ~5 years old just exploded in the morning. I was standing in the kitchen and all of a sudden I heard this explosion and just stood there until all of the noise stopped. I looked around and saw that there was glass all over the kitchen and that the door to the oven had exploded outwards. I was not even using the oven. The last time I used the oven was 3 days ago. The clean up was horrible because of all of the little shards everywhere.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20221205-E129B-2147352214. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Frigidaire LFEF3054TFG. Incident: The outer glass of our free-standing Frigidaire gas range exploded spontaneously. The cooktop was OFF when explosion happened. The lower oven hadn't been used for around 10 days. Suddenly a super loud noise/explosion. Dared not to come closer because did not know if the inner glass was going to explode or not. Waited from further away and still could see glass fell off. Luckily no one was nearby at the moment. Still shocked by the loud boom. Tiny shards of glass were all over the place. Very dangerous.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20201226-D94DC-2147367205. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Frigidaire LFEF3054TFG (Frigidaire Electric Range, stainless steel, black 30" W 48" maximum tall, 29 7/8" 29 1/4" w After researching this product, I learned that it is discontinued Model LFEF3054TFG). Incident: On December 23, 2020 my Frigidaire Stove Oven exploded causing the glass on the outer oven door to shatter completely to pieces. I was beginning to prepare Christmas dinner and heated the oven to 350. About an hour or so later after heating the oven, there was this a big loud boom/noise that came from the kitchen. Upon entering the kitchen I noticed that glass was all over the floor !! It was a scary moment. I was anticipating that the stove was going to eventually blow up. My family and I felt so unsafe while we were in the house. We monitored the stove all night until we could contact someone Christmas Eve morning. We were all stunned in disbelief that this occurred. Our Christmas dinner was spoiled as I had to cook the meal at mom's home, as she was cooking her meal. Very inconvenient. I thus learned that this did not just happen to me and that it has been happening for years and no one is doing anything about it!! I still have the stove as of December 26. I did speak with the warranty company and they scheduled a repairman to come out fix the stove the week of December 27, still making it inconvenient. The repair man came out to view the stove and advised that he needed to order the glass and that he would only be available on January 21, 2021 to install the glass! I then get an email on December 31, 2020 stating the there was a delay on one or more of the parts for the stove and that a replacement is being sought out! A replacement part! Come on! As of January 11, 2021 I have heard from no one the part. I am to afraid to cook on the stove not knowing what caused the ex

Product: Frigidaire LFEF3054TFG (Smooth Surface 5-Element 5.4-cu ft Steam Cleaning Freestanding Electric Range (EasyCare Stainless Steel) Item #: 848340|Model #: LFEF3054TF This was purchased at Lowe's.). Incident: I had made dinner in our Frigidaire oven this evening in our Smooth Surface 5-Element 5.4-cu ft Steam Cleaning Freestanding Electric Range (EasyCare Stainless Steel) Item #: 848340|Model #: LFEF3054TF that we had purchased from Lowe's in September of 2019. We sat down to eat at the dinner table and just after finished eating we heard a huge explosion in the kitchen. We went to go look and there was broken glass scattered all over the floor from the oven. We have lived in many homes and I have 2 ovens in this home and never in my life have I ever experienced anything like this. This is extremely dangerous. I have a young child and dog that regularly sit on the floor in front of this oven and just were doing so about 35 minutes prior to the explosion. If we hadn't been eating they would have been there. UPDATED 2/9/2023: [I just want to emphasize that it was not like a warranty issue like a burner stopped working or anything else. This was a full on safety hazard of an explosion happening in my kitchen. This is a serious issue.] UPDATED 2/13/2023: [REDACTED] [Particularly interesting is the part that says," Chicago glass expert [REDACTED] said many oven manufacturers have switched from borosilicate glass to tempered glass to save money. The problem is tempered glass is not as sturdy as borosilicate which is the same type of glass used in laboratory beakers. Because its tempered it can tolerate a lot more stress, a lot more, [REDACTED] said. Nonetheless, there are times it can be pushed beyond its endurance and it will break. Frigidaire would not tell [REDACTED] what type

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20240530-DB421-2147338917. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Frigidaire LFEF3054TFG (Frigidaire Oven). Incident: I contacted Frigidaire customer service on Tuesday, May 28th, to report an issue with the exterior oven glass on my mother's Frigidaire oven exploding during use. The model # is LFEF3054TFG and the serial # is VF90510005. While I understand this unit is out of warranty, it is only 4 years old. The glass was not damaged and she was simply baking a meatloaf. Luckily no one was in front of the unit, as the force of the failure blew the glass 8 ft across the kitchen. I simply don't believe this to be an ordinary wear and tear failure. If it was an element, or some type of electrical issue, I'd say oh well and move on. I was offered 10% off a replacement part, however I am hesitant to trust a part from the same source that provided the failed one. There are smaller children in the house on occasion, as well as dogs. Just the right height to sustain facial injury.
