Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11544453

HVAC CASE DOOR MELTED. GM case #9-10542006159. Repaired 2 years ago under warranty and GM knew there was a problem with the design. The air distribution system is placed to close to the heating coils and it keeps melting. It has failed again and GM will not do anything about it and keeps saying its out of warranty. They did not repair the problem correctly when it was in warranty. They tell me there is not a fix for it and there has not been a recall. I'm afraid the car will catch on fire

SERVICE BRAKES

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11156406

While driving the vehicle, the service "brake assist" light came on. I put my foot on the brake and had no brakes, then had Limited brakes when slowly pumping then pedal went to the floor. That warning went off and the malfunction indicator lamp came on. I then had about 85% brakes.this has happened three times. The dealer and GM cannot find the problem. The first time I was on a highway. The 2ND time I was on a street in town and the 3RD time I had just pulled out of a driveway in a subdivision, after the car had not moved from Friday to Sunday.

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11490883

Tires are measuring low tread (4/32in) under 27,000. At under 25,000 miles on 6/17/2022, my vehicle experienced a blowout at low speed (approx 20mph), minutes after it had been parked. No pressure sensors were alarming until the blowout occurred. I have a case with Michelin, but the dealership won't contact them. I have a case with GM, but they will not honor the existing service bulletin 19-NA-078 for ANY of the tires, stating it does not appear under my VIN. I'm fortunate this event occured at low speed, but given the quality of these tires, I'm sure others have not been so lucky. I believe this to be a safety issue, not just a manufacturer defect.

SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11742967

I have a warning on my dash, "Service Brake Assist" that comes on and off, but will not stay on. The dealer says they can't identify the problem unless it stays on and then bring it in. I did some research and find a class action complaint suit in 4 different states, of several GM cars manufactured between 2017 - 2020. Mine is a 2019 Buick Envision. The class action suit identifies the "Brake Vacuum Pump" defect. The defect will be known, when you step on the brake, the pump fails by exploding, and you have little or no brake whatsoever. More than likely causing a car crash and potentially loss of life. So what am I to do ? Wait for the pump failure and CRASH! Please look into this situation and potiential save lives.

SERVICE BRAKES

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11750713

Driving home from work and I seen the "service brake assist" light popped on. I did not know what that meant, until I tried to slow down around a curve. The brake pedal was extremely firm and mad stopping in time almost impossible. I made it home and looked on internet for answers. I checked the sensors, brake fluid and checked again and no help. I noticed a puddle of oil under the car and checked the lipstick which showed i was very low on oil. The next day I had to tow the car 45 to 50 miles to dealership. The dealership had car for 3 days and told us it was the brake vacuum pump that failed. The vehicle was not under warranty and we paid over $800 to have it repaired. We live off a busy road and it was very hazardous driving it home.

I bought this vehicle used to take on a trip with my family. Drove it for a week and seemed to be fine. Got on the other side of Chicago, on interstate 80 (70mph) and the engine started shaking like an earthquake. Had to slow down fast and cross traffic to pull over. As soon as I pulled of the road it stopped, so I restarted. This happened 6 times on way to my destination, with one time in pretty heavy traffic and almost got hit by an 18-wheeler. I took it to a good service center when I got to my destination and he read the Service bulletin 22-NA-211 on this issue and fixed it. Had a safe trip home. From what I understand, the hydraulic mounts leaked and they had to replace bushings. It seems to be a common problem for the 2019 model.

POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE

78 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11745260

The envision started losing power, the engine would not gain speed or if it did it was very slow, had the booster vacuum sensor changed, Sudden loss of power or sluggish acceleration, In the beginning the noise/whining was not loud however increased from the engine. Took to a repair shop, could not figure it out, informed dealership, was advised to bring it in. As the car was driven into the lot it died and was unable to start again, dealership informed it was going to cost more than the $22,000 that I paid for it. It appears that the turbo’s failure has damaged internal components, a full engine rebuild is necessary. Bought the car with 63,000 miles, engine went around 100k, had an easy care insurance/mechanical policy just over the mileage limit, tried contacting Buick, due to no recall they wouldn't start a case file for me

TIRES

25 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11425999

All 4 Michelin Premier LTX 225 / 60 R 18 tires are worn down to (on 2 tires) and below (on 2 tires) the unsafe level, where the vehicle cannot even pass an insnspection, due to safety concerns. The mileage this occurred at is 26,175 miles. These tires are “rated” by Michelin for 60,000 miles. I say rated because they carry a 60,000 mile tread life warranty, in writing (and on their website) from Michelin, which they provide the vehicle manufacturer to be placed in the glovebox. The second page of fine print, however, states in the next to final bullet point, that the warranty does not apply to OEM tires provided on new vehicle purchases. After speaking with several dealerships, parts departments and stand alone tire stores (which sell this brand), they are all aware of not only this practice with Michelin, but knew which model of tire I was referring to, without me mentioning it. This HAS to be either misrepresentation by the tire manufacturer or a factory defect from the same. It has to be one or the other. There are no other options.

STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11743691

There are currently two items to report on this vehicle: 1) Failure of the gear shift. The replacement is not available for inspection. PCM found defective. The PCM was not seeing the transmission in park or neutral. The shifter assembly had to be replaced. The vehicle was not driveable and had to be towed for repair. No safety issues concerning this event. Repair confirmed failure of gear shifting mechanism. No inspection by others prior to this event occurring in April 2026. No messages of impending failure. 2) Failure of steering gear. Replaced parts not available for inspection. At highway speeds steering became unstable and unresponsive with various pavement conditions(almost a feeling of becoming airborne), Even at low speeds (over a speedbump) vibration occured. Dealer repair consisted of replacement steering gear with new motor and internal power steering control module. 4 wheel alignment performed after parts replacement and a test drive. This was a serious safety condition to us and others. No inspections were done by others prior to this event occuring in May of 2026. There were no messages of impending failure.

I'm recalling an incident I reported last year. GM refused to honor the service bulletin, and Palmen Buick GMC Cadillac in Kenosha, WI refused to work with Michelin. At 30,000 miles, I now hydroplane, and when I had my car serviced a few weeks before my warranty was set to expire, the dealership again refused to honor the prorate chart for the tires, and again tried to just sell me new ones. I provided a picture of one of the tires now, and you can clearly see how they have deteriorated. I IMPLORE YOU TO MAKE A FULL RECALL. GM IS CLEARLY AVOIDING THIS ISSUE, AND THEIR DEALERSHIPS WILL NOT WORK WITH MICHELIN TO CORRECT IT. Below is the original complaint. I have a case with GM, but they will not honor the existing service bulletin [XXX] for ANY of the tires, stating it does not appear under my VIN. I'm fortunate this event occurred at low speed, but given the quality of these tires, I'm sure others have not been so lucky. I believe this to be a safety issue, not just a manufacturer defect. Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11320414

April 7, 2020 I am writing to you today to shed some light on how dire a situation GM Buick has put me in with regard to a lack of a resolution regarding my 2019 Buick. General motors has been unable to produce an airbag part #84548108 for my 2019 Buick Envision Premium since November 27, 2019. My car was t-boned on the passenger side of my 2019 Buick by another driver while I was traveling on a main road. He was issued a ticket for failure to yield. I am a registered nurse at westchester medical center in valhalla, new york. I cannot be without a vehicle to take care of my family and get to my job as an intensive care nurse at wmc in westchester county new york. For the first 3 months GM has used the uaw strike as an excuse for not having the available parts for my vehicle. Now they are using the coronavirus pandemic as an excuse for not producing the part. No one at GM knows more than I about how the coronavirus has affected our daily lives. GM refuses to provide me with the replacement part or a loaner vehicle! They have offered a rental car arrangement where I would be charged $240.00 per month. This is totally unacceptable, they are taking food off of my table. In addition they refuse to put a hold on my loan from GM financial!. It is now 5 months that I have not gotten my car repaired. Please let me know if you can help me resolve this dismal situation asap. [Xxx], rnc, bsn information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (FOIA), 5 u.s.c. 552(B)(6). *Tr
