ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11723705

I own a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 with the 6.4L engine (VIN: [XXX] ). The vehicle has a dangerous condition where the engine stalls unexpectedly when the fuel level is approximately 1/4 tank or lower and the vehicle is traveling downhill. When the vehicle is positioned on a decline or downhill slope, the engine suddenly shuts off without warning. This appears to be fuel starvation on decline when the fuel level is below approximately 1/4 tank, resulting in engine stall and loss of power steering and braking assist after stall. This has occurred multiple times and creates a significant risk of crash due to the sudden loss of engine power and reduced steering and braking assistance while the vehicle is in motion. The issue is particularly concerning when descending hills or driving on angled terrain. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership (Carvana Jeep San Diego) where technicians determined the likely cause is a defective fuel pump module associated with the Wrangler Rubicon 392 6.4L fuel pump module. However, the dealership informed me the replacement fuel pump module is currently on national backorder from the manufacturer (Stellantis/Jeep). They stated there is no confirmed availability date and that many vehicles may be waiting for the same component. My vehicle has been awaiting repair for approximately four months due to the unavailable fuel pump module. Because the vehicle can stall unexpectedly while traveling downhill, this defect presents an ongoing safety hazard and potential risk of crash. This complaint is being submitted so the issue can be evaluated as a potential safety defect involving fuel delivery failure, fuel pump module malfunction, and engine stall under low fuel conditions in the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392. I have no technical no-how with cars so I will describe as best I can. We have a brand new 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe--bought it one month ago--and two weeks in, while driving, the check engine light came on. We were out of town so called the local dealer but they could not see us for three weeks. So we researched the issue and thought it could be a loose gas cap etc. We did some trouble shooting but nothing changed. Then, while driving, the entire dash lit up with various warnings, including the hybrid warning, and it just shut down. We were next to a parking lot and coasted in. Through a series of actions we were able to get it driving again and made it to another dealership. When we arrived all signals were gone and they could find no trouble codes to check. We were able to drive back home and we thought maybe it was the loose gas cap issue. We would have taken it into the dealership as a precaution, but service appts are weeks out. And it drove fine for several days. Then our daughter was driving it on an extremely busy and dangerous road. Luckily she'd just turned off it into our neighborhood--but she was still driving at a decent speed--and all of a sudden all the warning lights came on again, including the hybrid signal, and the car completely shut down on her. Stopped mid-drive and mid-road. We now have had it towed to the dealership. We have also read all the similar stories now with Jeep 4xes and have serious concerns about the extent of this issue and thus the safety of the vehicle. The dealership can't look at it for weeks, but we have already contacted sales to see what they can do. I feel like it could take months to work out what is happening here--especially with service backups--and I do not feel safe with any of our family members doing a back and forth on this until we find out that a serious recall in underway.

Since purchasing my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, the vehicle’s radio system has been defective, creating a significant safety hazard. The original radio (Radio 1) had a short that drained the battery and was replaced by a dealer. The replacement radio (Radio 2) has never functioned properly: the Bluetooth system fails to stay paired, requiring manual re-pairing every time the vehicle is started. Multiple software updates have been attempted, but the issue persists unchanged. This defect prevents reliable hands-free phone operation, which is critical for safe driving. My wife uses this vehicle daily to transport our children to school, and the lack of a functional hands-free system forces her to either forgo phone use entirely or risk distracted driving, violating Georgia’s hands-free law (O.C.G.A. § 40-6-241), which prohibits holding a phone while driving. This malfunction endangers my family and other road users, as it compromises the driver’s ability to communicate safely in emergencies or navigate without distraction. Repair History: * Initial Defect: Radio 1 shorted and drained the battery; replaced with Radio 2 (date unknown, within first year of ownership). * Ongoing Issue: Radio 2’s Bluetooth has required re-pairing every drive since installation, despite multiple dealer visits and software updates. * Recent Action: Dropped off vehicle on April 11, 2025, at Rick Hendrick Duluth (mileage: 48,177). Dealer staff (Heather Kratky and Matt Otis) stated Jeep has not authorized a fix and considers the issue unresolvable, leaving the defect unaddressed. * Mopar Escalation: Escalated to Mopar. Safety Impact: The persistent Bluetooth failure eliminates hands-free capability, a standard safety feature in modern vehicles. This defect directly contributes to distracted driving risks, particularly in a family vehicle used for school transportation.

ENGINE

48 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11671279

While operating the 2021 Jeep Wrangler under normal driving conditions, I experienced repeated overheating issues. A high-pitched noise was consistently heard coming from under the hood during operation. Simultaneously, the engine temperature gauge would spike to high, and the infotainment system displayed an engine overheating warning. When the vehicle is started from a cold start - the high pitch is constant. To prevent damage or risk of fire, I immediately pulled the vehicle over and allowed the engine to cool. Upon restarting, the overheating issue persisted, with the temperature gauge rising and falling erratically—up to four times during a 15-minute drive. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealership service center for inspection. The following findings were documented: Coolant System: High-temperature coolant reservoir found completely empty. Low-temperature reservoir found low on coolant. Evidence of coolant leakage at multiple coolant line fittings. Engine Block: External head gasket leak observed. Pressure test confirmed leaks in coolant lines. Internal Engine Inspection: Spark plugs were removed and coolant residue was found in the combustion chambers. Cylinder walls showed damage consistent with overheating. Slightly burned valves noted during inspection. Based on the findings above, the engine has suffered critical failure due to overheating and internal coolant leakage. The combination of external gasket leaks, coolant residue in the cylinders, damaged cylinder walls, and burned valves presents a serious mechanical and safety concern. Full engine replacement is required. Estimated cost: $16,000.00 This engine failure may pose a significant safety risk due to: Sudden loss of power while driving, Potential engine fire from overheating, Exposure to steam or hot coolant under hood Risk of engine seizing while on motion.

SEAT BELTS,ENGINE

49 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11674109

From the moment I drove off the lot, I encountered problems. The battery light came on immediately, requiring a replacement within weeks. I returned to the original CarMax location for this service. However, this was only the beginning. Over time, I discovered the following: The driver seatbelt was not functioning properly The right rear passenger seatbelt buckle was completely missing The filters were filthy and had not been cleaned or replaced in well over a year, according to a trusted mechanic The engine may now require replacement at just 38,000 miles When I called CarMax to report the missing seatbelt buckle, I was incorrectly told that my vehicle was not under warranty. This was untrue — I was well within the warranty period at the time. Despite this, I was ignored, and the safety concern received no follow-up or correction. This points to either a falsified or negligent vehicle inspection at the time of sale. Your "125+ point inspection" failed to catch multiple clear safety hazards and wear issues — or worse, they were deliberately overlooked. What’s most disturbing is that I only discovered the missing seatbelt after my sister drove the vehicle with my [XXX] and [XXX] nephews in the backseat. One child had to sit in the middle because the rear right buckle was completely missing. That realization — that I unknowingly placed children at risk in a vehicle that your team labeled "safe" — is devastating. Now I’m being told that the engine may be failing — and it hasn’t even hit 40,000 miles. I was recently asked by the Southlake service team to provide oil change records, which I am willing to share. But let’s be clear: An oil change receipt does not explain why a newer engine is failing at this mileage — unless something much deeper is wrong. Electrical system failure

STEERING,SUSPENSION,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

46 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11742944

My vehicle suffers from severe electrical/hydraulic failures matching recall 21D (NHSTSA ID 26V363000) for the electrical hydraulic power steering pump (EHPSP). Despite Stellantis acknowledging a 1.07- million vehicle fire hazard for this 2.0L turbo, my VIN shows "0 unrepaired recalls" due to a database omission. The vehicle is available for inspection. Safety risk: Active Electronic Stability control (ESC) faults and "service start-stop" dashboard warnings are present. This defect causes severe voltage fluctuations and sudden heavy steering loss while driving, creating an immediate crash hazard and spontaneous under hood fire risk while parked. Dealer history & warranty abuse: certified jeep dealerships have repeatedly failed to fix the root cause. Elm Grove Jeep (Wheeling WV) misdiagnosed the system and repeatedly billed my third-party warranty for thousands of dollars to fix cascading mechanical damage instead of the underlying defect. Parts replaced is 4 consecutive sets of rear shocks, front shocks, a steering clock spring and a drag link pitman arm boot. when elm grove failed to resolve it Stellantis corporate instructed me to take it to another dealer for a star case to be opened there. I took it to Steubenville Jeep (Ohio) with an active ASC light and failed rear shocks and was told "couldn't replicate" the issue and dismissed it. A few weeks ago, the service "start-stop" safety light triggered. Stellantis had corporate knowledge of this ongoing defect for months via prior state Attorney General case but refused to cooperate and waited knowing AG wouldn't keep it open past a certain number of days and replied a day outside of the window. They are leaving an active fire hazard on the road, omitting my VIN from the database rollout, and depleting my personal warranty's financial limits. I request a federal audit to force the inclusion of my VIN.

STEERING,SUSPENSION,WHEELS

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11398971

I purchased this 2021 Jeep Wrangler unlimited on September 9, 2020. It is a totally stock vehicle with no modifications of any sort. It has not been driven off road at all, and only on city streets, highways, and interstates, no accidents. While driving on a nearby interstate in January of 2021, at about 77 MPH, a minor seam in the road sent my vehicle into what is commonly known as 'death wobble' mode. Had about 4,000 miles on the odometer. On a five hour road trip, it happened over a dozen times on that trip alone.i videoed the car in violent wobble at highway speed and returned the car for another day of service. The local Jeep service center ordered a 'steering damper' assembly as a fix for the problem, even though the 2021 wranglers come with that steering damper as standard equipment starting this year. Unfortunately, the part is on an extended back-order, I am told, and won't be available for some time. In the meantime, they did a 'road-force' wheel and tire balance as an interim fix. One tire was at 24 lbs, one was at 17 lbs, and the other two were at 10 lbs and 1 lbs. Since then the car has had fewer, momentary, wobbles of much shorter duration, and has recovered quickly more it does wobble briefly at slower speeds now as well. While driving, I can feel the suppressed wobbles in the steering wheel and gas pedal and am concerned for safety and continued wear and damage to front suspension and tires, and the frequency of having to do costly road force balancing on the tires. I love the Jeep but I've lost confidence in the car at this point. I have attempted to upload some video of one of my cars death wobbles, showing its intensity, and refusal to subside until decelerated to about 55 MPH. The video exceeds the space allowed for this document, so you'd have to contact me to arrange another way to view it if necessary.

The Air Conditioner in my 2021 Jeep Wrangler with 15K miles caused two anaphylactic reactions to mold. On Wednesday May 31, 2023, immediately upon starting the Jeep engine and the AC fan starting I had a severe allergic reaction while driving that resulted in me having to pull over and administer my EPI pen and use my inhaler. At the time my soft top was off as were the windows and doors. On Sunday, June 1st, the next time I got into my Jeep to drive the same thing happened. This time the doors/windows and soft top were attached. The the only constant variables to the allergic reactions were my Jeep and running the air conditioning. Today ran my Jeep engine in my driveway (it is currently 83 degrees in St. Louis) and ran the air conditioner for 30 minutes and there was NO fluid under the Jeep from condensation from the AC running. I believe the AC condensate line is clogged, and that there is mold on the AC evaporator, both causing my entire AC system and entire vehicle to be contaminated with mold causing both my anaphylactic reactions. The mold allergy is life threatening to me. The mold is also life threatening to the general public if I am driving and unable to maintain control of the vehicle due to anaphylaxis caused by the mold in the vehicle and AC system. The risk I would need to assume, if I choose to drive the Jeep again is unacceptable - and I will not take that risk. Additionally, I will not cause or assume liability for any harm caused to the public that results from an anaphylactic reaction of increasing severity to mold while driving the Jeep, which would likely temporarily incapacitate me and render me unable to control the Jeep. I will not drive my Jeep until both issues have been repaired and the Jeep has had a mold inspection and appropriate mold remediation. The Jeep dealership cannot service the Jeep for over 30 days rendering me without a car.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

62 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11765186

Since the 68C Jeep Wrangler recall was applied to my vehicle this past July, it has been exhibiting erratic behavior during acceleration. At varying times, when the accelerator is pressed from a stop, the vehicle will begin accelerating at normal rate, but then suddenly the power will drop off, resulting in the acceleration rate being dropped to where the car is barely accelerating. For instance, I was making a left hand turn from a stop, and when I accelerated onto the road, my speed quickly rose to 20 mph, but then the vehicle stopped accelerating, and remained at 20 mph. At the time, the vehicle was operating on battery power only. I immediately began increasing my throttle input, but the car failed to increase acceleration. Only once I had the pedal to the floor for a few seconds did the internal combustion engine activate, allowing the car to begin accelerating again, albeit at a slow rate that was not commensurate with the throttle position. This event has almost resulted in other vehicles colliding with my car when I was attempting to enter a busy road. This has occurred on a number of occasions, and the fact that this happens randomly presents an extremely dangerous situation that is not predictable. Other people who own the same Jeep Wrangler 4xe platform as me have also reported this occurring to their vehicles. Jeep, however, has not responded to this alarming problem, and simply has been telling customers who call Jeep customer service or take their vehicles to a dealer that there is nothing wrong, and the vehicles are operating normally. This is not acceptable, and with tens of thousands of these vehicles on the road, presents a significant danger to the owners and public at large. For the record, there were no warning lamps, messages, or any other symptoms prior to each incident for me. It also has occurred no matter the current capacity of the battery.

POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11703521

I purchased (traded into) a 2021 Jeep Wrangler on October 31, 2024. The vehicle already had an open safety recall (68C) at the time of purchase. Shortly after, the vehicle began experiencing severe and dangerous safety failures. While driving, the Jeep suddenly goes into “turtle mode,” loses power without warning, and drops to 7–12 mph in traffic. The engine light comes on and the vehicle becomes almost undrivable. This creates an extremely hazardous situation where I could be rear-ended or left stranded on the road. This is a serious safety risk to me and to other drivers. I contacted Jeep/Stellantis Recall Customer Care to report the issue. Only after calling did I receive an email telling me I must pay out of pocket for a rental vehicle, even though the vehicle is unsafe and the recall remedy is not available. I immediately responded saying I cannot pay upfront. Since November 25, Jeep/Stellantis has ignored my messages completely. The vehicle remains unsafe, undrivable, and under a recall with no available parts. Jeep has refused to provide a direct-billed rental or any safe alternative transportation. I have been left without a usable vehicle while the manufacturer fails to communicate or offer assistance. This is a major safety defect, and the lack of manufacturer response puts me in danger. If this vehicle loses power in traffic again, it could cause an accident. I am requesting NHTSA intervention because Jeep/Stellantis is not addressing this safety issue, not providing a remedy, and not honoring their recall responsibilities. Symptoms: •Sudden power loss •Turtle mode activation •Speed dropping to 7–12 mph unexpectedly •Engine warning light on •Vehicle unsafe to operate Manufacturer Failure: •Recall 68C remedy unavailable •Denied direct-billed rental •Required me to pay upfront for rental •No response to my communication since Nov 25 •Left me without transportation

STEERING,SUSPENSION

35 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11743030

I am reporting a serious safety defect involving my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (VIN: [XXX]). The most significant issue occurred at approximately 50,000 miles when the vehicle experienced a violent steering and suspension instability event commonly referred to as "death wobble." While traveling at approximately 60 mph on a highway, the vehicle suddenly began shaking violently from side to side. The steering wheel became extremely difficult to control, and I had to fight to maintain control of the vehicle while slowing down in active traffic. The event was severe enough that I genuinely feared the vehicle could roll over or cause a collision. Prior to my experience, my wife experienced a similar incident while driving the same vehicle. The safety risk extends beyond my family to surrounding motorists who could be involved if the driver loses control. Immediately following the incident, I contacted the servicing dealership, Jeep Chrysler of Somerset, Massachusetts. The dealership informed me this was a known issue and instructed me not to drive the vehicle above 55 mph until it could be inspected. After inspection, I was advised that the steering damper was defective and that additional suspension-related components could also be contributing factors. The steering damper was replaced, but I was required to pay for the repair. The dealership further advised that instability could continue and recommended changing to smaller tires to reduce the issue. I also reported concerns through Jeep/Stellantis customer service channels and have documented multiple service visits regarding this and other vehicle issues. Despite repairs, the vehicle has never driven the same. My family avoids highway travel in the vehicle, and we do not feel comfortable transporting our children on long trips due to concern INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

59 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11743588

COMPONENT/SYSTEM THAT FAILED — AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION: The electrical system failed at the under-hood fuse box / power distribution center (the component sometimes referred to as the TIPM), located near the battery. The vehicle started roughly, shut off within about 3 seconds, would not stay running, and emitted a plastic/electrical burning smell from that area. The vehicle is currently at Oxendale Jeep in Cottonwood, AZ and is available for inspection upon request. A photo of the damage from service advisor Jason Smith and a dealer pre-service inspection document are also available. HOW SAFETY WAS PUT AT RISK: The vehicle would not run and stranded me in an unfamiliar parking lot in Jerome, AZ. The electrical burning smell created a fire risk. A responding firefighter, a police officer, and online guidance all advised not to restart the vehicle due to the danger of fire. REPRODUCED/CONFIRMED BY DEALER: Not fully. Oxendale's pre-service inspection states they could not perform actual diagnostics due to the mechanical damage and burnt components. The dealer documented the damage but has not reproduced or confirmed a root cause. INSPECTED BY MANUFACTURER, POLICE, INSURANCE, OR OTHERS: A local firefighter and a local police officer observed the burning smell at the scene. The jeep dealership service advisor inspected and documented the damage. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer or an insurance representative. WARNING LAMPS/MESSAGES/SYMPTOMS BEFORE FAILURE: No prior warning lamps or messages before the incident. Symptoms first appeared at the time of failure on Friday, [XXX]: a rough start, immediate shut-off, and an electrical/plastic burning smell. Dash lights and electrical power stayed on with info on dash don’t remember wording, but the vehicle would not remain running. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11765628

2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Sahara, VIN [XXX]. 1. The exact malfunctioning component is UNKNOWN; I suspect the hybrid propulsion system. The vehicle is available for inspection. After recall 68C was completed, accelerator response, electric-power availability, and combined gasoline/electric performance changed substantially. The Jeep hesitates when I press the accelerator, the gasoline engine starts at unexpected times, and full electric-mode operation becomes restricted. Combined acceleration is noticeably weaker than before the recall. My complaint concerns restricted propulsion power, not reduced driving range. Horsepower loss has not been independently measured. Whether battery overheating or thermal-protection controls cause these restrictions is UNKNOWN. 2. I regularly pull out into traffic expecting the acceleration the vehicle previously provided, but the Jeep hesitates or fails to gain speed quickly enough. The approaching driver behind me then has to slow down. This recurring delayed response and reduced acceleration make safe gaps harder to judge and create a risk of a rear-end collision. 3. No dealer or independent service center has reproduced or confirmed these post-recall problems. 4. Recall 68C was completed, but these subsequent drivability problems have not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others. 5. I first noticed these symptoms on XXX, at 62,000 miles, after recall 68C. They became more pronounced during summer 2026 as warmer weather set in. No warning lamps or messages accompanied these problems. I suspect a connection to the recall work based on the timing, but the exact cause is UNKNOWN. I request that NHTSA investigate whether the 68C remedy causes or leaves unresolved restricted propulsion power and delayed accelerator response. Sudden loss of power. Vehicle completely lost response to accelerator pedal while driving: Had a very strange experience last night. I have been barely charging my 4xe after 95b recall trying to maybe slow down battery degradation and drive it like during the recall period. Last night I was going down a rural road. I rolled up to a 4 way stop slowing down from about 55mph to stop. Vehicle was in hybrid mode, and cluster was at <1%. I had barely stopped, I don’t think the ICE shut down. I tried to accelerate to clear the intersection and I had 0 power. Car would barely move and slowly rolled in the intersection. Engine was running but not responding to the accelerator with RPM increase, just like when you try to rev at idle. No response to half or full throttle. I just slowly rolled in the intersection (scary situation, luckily no heavy traffic) I turned my hazard lights on and tried again to accelerate, 0 response, no MIL light, still gas in car. I tried to change drive mode to electric, message “unavailable, battery depleted” (no surprise there), tried e-save no response to throttle either. Last resort I put tranny in park and re-cycled start/stop. HV battery had enough power to start engine and responded to throttle and I was back driving. Did another 10-15 miles yesterday, no wild issues (sometimes it feels a little jerky, but that could be just me now). I did some heavy accelerations. Power meter went to 100, re-charged on coasting and did that for 4 or 5 repetitions. No warning lights ever. Checked my SOH last night and it had dropped to 80.8%. I decided to charge on L1 outside. Didnt have full SOC this morning, just 75% on dash. Drove normal this moaning, stayed in electric mist of the time. My 75% was completely depleted after maybe 10 miles driving. All seems typical for a poor SOH HV battery, except the loss of power and 0 response to throttle. Very scary and potentially dangerous.

STEERING,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11439002

Description: - Recurring on multiple occasions - Multiple lights on the dash come on. They may flash or persist - i.e. engine light, turtle light, crash avoidance light, among others. - The vehicle loses power (it’s a hybrid). This includes the motor and the engine. - The steering is compromised. You cannot steer the vehicle very well during this loss of power. - The vehicle usually will not restart and must be towed in or, in some cases, the battery can be disconnected causing the vehicle to reset and allowing it to begin operating again. This solution can work for a several power cycles or none at all. - When this happens, and you attempt to restart the vehicle sometimes when the power returns you are unable to tell if the vehicle is in neutral, drive, reverse, park, etc. - I experienced a case where the vehicle was in the Run position and the power windows would not open. When it was in the Off position, the windows would open. Perhaps this is intended behavior. - The seatbelt light will stay on even though all passengers in the vehicle are buckled in. It is unclear if this is part of the same issue, but it seems to be. - Systems compromised: Steering, braking, power/engine, seatbelts, etc. Examples of Incidents: - Driving in neighborhood (Safe Location) - Driving at highway speed (Unsafe Occurrence) - Driving on an off-road trail (thankfully with others) (Unsafe Occurrence) - Driving at highway speed - We almost crashed twice trying to get off the hwy. (Unsafe Occurrence) Compounding Safety Issues: - Roadside Assistance didn’t show up after ~7 hours waiting. - FCA’s utter confidence in the repair process is scary to me. - Confidence apparently based on recent software updates to the system, which was installed in a prior visit. The FCA rep wasn’t initially aware the vehicle was back in for service 2 days after installing the latest firmware. - Lack of ability to update software OTA (over the air).

June 5, 2025 stopped at red light turned green tried to turn left and the jeep flashed the electric red bolt symbol and check engine light came on lost all power would not go when gas pedal was pushed. a/c lost power started blowing hot air and engine turned off. Restarted engine finally got it to go enough to pull out of traffic. Turned off engine opened hood checked battery cables, fuses and all was intact. Started engine drove slowly to the Autozone store to have the diagnostic test done and it showed P2101 power train system throttle actuator A control motor circuit range /performance detected unexpected voltage on the throttle actuator control motor circuit also C121C-00 ABS torque request signal denied Anti-lock Brake System U0401-00 implausible data received from ECM/PCM “A”. System was reset to be able to drive home. 6/16/25 went to start jeep to go to work made a clicking noise check engine light on and the voltage warning sensor flashing and showed Service Electronic Stability Control error would not stay running checked battery cables fuses and restarted engine tried to back out of driveway engine would not go. Had jeep towed to Moore CDJR dealership where it was purchased from 9/2023 to have serviced found throttle body needs replaced dealership contacted several parts dealers, Mopar, and other dealerships etc. to locate the part needed was advised couldn’t find the parts needed for the repair. Contacted service department and they advised they were calling National Auto Care my extended warranty for approval for repair. My concern is if I had been driving 65 mph and it went out I would have been in a accident when the vehicle stopped functioning. Safety of myself and other drivers would have been compromised. This is the 2.0L Turbo motor and have been advised that there are several issues with this motor and should trade in vehicle. I don’t have that option and this is the only vehicle I have.

I was notified of recall ZB7 affecting my 2021 JEEP Wrangler 4xE by phone on February 3, 2023. During this call I made an appointment with JEEP for the issue to be fixed on February 24, 2023. On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, two days before my scheduled appointment, the engine of my Jeep failed ~6PM while I was driving on highway 495S near Merrimac, MA (mile 114.8). I was in the far left lane traveling at about 70 mph and lost all power steering, power brakes, everything. The engine completely lost power without warning. No messages, warning lights or other signs of any issue before a total loss of power. Thankfully, I was able to drift from the left lane, crossing 2 lanes of traffic on a busy highway, to reach the shoulder on the other side of the highway. I did this in the dark without without power brakes and without power steering. I was with my 2 year old son and am grateful that we are both still alive. A loss of engine power at that speed on a busy highway could easily have caused an accident, perhaps fatal for ourselves or others. After 2 hours stranded on the shoulder of the road, the Jeep was towed by AAA to the Jeep dealership nearest to where I lost power, Bill Deluca Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Haverhill, MA. It has been sitting in the parking lot of that dealership now for 6 days and they claim to be too busy to investigate the issue or perform a recall fix. The service repair shop at this dealership has been wholly uncooperative and unhelpful. I have called the manufacturer and am currently awaiting a service appointment at another Jeep dealership. According to Jeep/Chrysler, I am responsible for the out of pocket cost of the tow from the Jeep dealership in Haverhill to the Jeep dealership in Lynnfield. This seems absurd as the faulty vehicle is the reason I am unable to drive it from one dealership to the next. In the meantime, I have now been renting a car for 6 days, paying out of pocket.

ENGINE

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11703882

Jeep has a design defect in vehicles equipped with the 2.0L turbocharged engine where the coolant reservoir is positioned directly adjacent to the turbocharger and turbo heat source with insufficient heat shielding. Due to the constant high heat exposure, the plastic coolant reservoir and/or connecting plastic fittings degrade, warp, and become brittle over time, eventually leading to coolant leaks, erratic coolant temperature readings, and/or sudden coolant loss. This failure often occurs without warning, and many vehicles do not initially trigger a check engine light. In my case, the vehicle exhibited intermittent coolant temperature readings, abnormal fan operation, and heating inconsistencies before the leak was discovered. Multiple repair attempts are frequently made before the root cause is identified. Mechanics often replace components such as the thermostat housing, coolant temperature sensors, or related assemblies, not realizing the coolant reservoir heat damage is the underlying cause. This results in unnecessary repairs, significant consumer expense, and extended vehicle downtime. This defect poses a serious safety risk, as coolant loss can result in: •Engine overheating •Sudden loss of power •Potential engine failure while driving •Increased risk of breakdown in traffic or unsafe driving conditions Numerous owners report similar failures, indicating this is not an isolated incident but a widespread design flaw affecting Jeep vehicles equipped with the 2.0L turbo engine.Jeep has not issued a Technical Service Bulletin or recall addressing the placement of the coolant reservoir or providing guidance to technicians to inspect for heat-related degradation in this area.I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this design defect and require Jeep to issue a Technical Service Bulletin or recall addressing this. The vehicle was properly maintained and not modified and The issue occurred at relatively low mileage.

On April 15th 2025 my Instrument Panal Clusters IPC which is main computer system of Jeeps 2018-2024. It has service lights for check engine, tire pressure, def system recalibrations/cleanings, tells me how fast I'm going, oil levels, all other fluid levels, when I need a oil change, how many miles is on jeep, gas gage, along with all other issues or maintenance on a vehicle including if something is wrong or overheating of vehicle. After doing some research I did see there was a Ipc recall on Jeeps/Gladiators 2018-2024. After going on the website to check if my vin qualified it was sadly not included. I ended up taking my vehicle into the dealership and paid out of my pocket 150.00 to have my vehicle diagnosed. The dealership said it was indeed the Ipc but also said my vin number was not included which was a shock to them also since is a severe issue not being able to see anything on dash for my and other driver's on the road . They tried to submit a goodwill to Jeep Corporate office which was sadly declined also. They advised me to park my vehicle and suggest that it was not safe to drive as I do not know when it needs gas an oil change or any other important issues that may be needed. After waiting 8 months patiently making payments not only for a vehicle I cannot use is ridiculous not till mention insurance on top of that something needs to be done weather it's fixing problems, giving me a rental, or just trading the vehicle in for a usable one. Thank you for your time in advance. I tried to upload photos of the diagnostics for the Ipc also the denial of the goodwill. Oh and I forgot I was on the phone for 4 hours with FCA 18003349200 customer care spoke to recall center spoke to Shawn on 6/27/2025 @ 215pm after getting the run around and being transferred 6 different times to Ann Riley and Josh wasting my time to get told I'm not able to speak to a supervisor and there was nothing they could do to help!!!!

My local dealer has all the documentation on this jeep. It has been into the dealership many times now the check engine light is on for another problem which I am taking it in again this weekend . When I ask the dealer, I’ve been seeing things on Facebook about these jeeps having issues they just filled me full of a bunch of Bull and says every vehicle has issues. I’ve ran the VIN number and found out that mine is one of them that just catches on fire plus sometimes shakes when it’s driving down the road but that’s been minor considering everything else. One time I was driving up the driveway and it felt like the transmission slipped or something. They said it was something in the four-wheel-drive that went out. This is a new vehicle. It has very low miles on it. I’ve had it going on maybe the fourth year now it’s only got 31,000 miles on it I don’t drive it very far. It’s been in the shop several times for recalls or things that’s happened to it. When I first got it, it left me stranded would not start. I’d only had it a few days. It has been a lemon from start to finish. I am terrified to drive it and I don’t have another vehicle. I paid $55,000 for this jeep just a few years ago. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. I desperately need help if the manufacturer is refunding people’s monies I want to make sure that I get enough money to buy another vehicle because this one is only a few years old and it’s been in the shop numerous amount of times. The other day it shimmied a little bit on the highway and I thought it was the road and now I’m reading that there’s problems with that also, it’s clearly a lemon. But as I said, I’m scared to death to drive it now. The newest development as I’ve said is now the check engine light is on. It’s only been out of the shop for maybe three weeks since they fixed something in the four-wheel-drive which I’ve never even used. I love the looks of this Jeep, but it’s not dependable so I need help.

⸻ Title: Loss of Power While Driving on Freeway – Dangerous Malfunction Similar to Recall 23V-116 Complaint Description: I am reporting a serious and dangerous malfunction with my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon EcoDiesel. While driving on a high-speed freeway (70–80 MPH), all warning lights on the dashboard illuminated—including the check engine light—and the vehicle suddenly went into limp mode, resulting in a loss of power. This occurred in fast-moving traffic, putting me at immediate risk of a crash. This started happening again every time I got on the freeway for 10 minutes. I’ve owned this Jeep for about a year, have never taken it off-road, and have kept it properly maintained. All electrical components, fuses, and systems have been inspected, and no clear cause has been found. The problem persists and is clearly not due to driver use or negligence. This issue strongly resembles Recall Number 23V-116, which states that affected vehicles may experience a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. That recall was for 2021 Jeep Wrangler vehicles, the same model and year as mine. However, my VIN was not included, despite the fact that I’m experiencing the exact same symptoms described in the recall notice: “A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.” This issue began occurring shortly after that recall was issued, and it has happened multiple times, mostly during highway driving—making the vehicle extremely unsafe. I believe my vehicle should have been included in Recall 23V-116, as this is clearly a safety-related defect involving the powertrain or control module software. This is an urgent safety issue, and I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate why this VIN was excluded from the recall and consider expanding the recall to cover additional affected vehicles before someone gets seriously injured or worse. Vehicle Information: •Year: 2021 •Make: Jeep •Model: Wrangler Rubicon EcoDiesel •Transmission: Automatic

My jeep wrangler has axle lockers. They are only supposed to be able to be engaged when the vehicle transfer case is set to 4wd low (4L). Since buying this jeep brand new, the vehicle information intermittently shows the axle lockers being engaged in 2wd high (2H). I have brought it to the dealer twice for this problem. First they reset the computer. The second time they replaced the 4wd module. The incorrect status is redisplayed again. I have only had this jeep for 2 months, it has less than 3000 miles on it. The dealer doesn't seem to know what the problem is. I have talked with Jeep corporate who also says they can find no reports of this issue. However the internet jeep forums are full of people reporting this problem, supposedly it is related to failed axle locker sensors on the Rubicon wranglers. It is common enough an aftermarket company sells a wiring harness that bypasses the sensor. Because the sensor is not available separately, eventually this requires the entire axle be replaced. Some people have had their axles replaced 3-4 times. There really should be a recall. More than a few posters have also stated their axles have locked by themselves in 2H. This could cause a crash as axle lockers are not designed for use on pavement or at high speeds. Here are some links to the the forums: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/%E2%80%9Cservice-axle-locker-system%E2%80%9D-light-on.13241/ https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/what-happens-when-the-axle-lock-sensor-fails.67068/ https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/random-service-axle-locker-system.35153/ https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/jl-rubicon-owners-keep-your-locker-sensors-from-failing-how-to-pot-your-sensors.56892/ Here is a link to the wiring harness sold because it is such a common problem https://www.zautomotive.com/product/z_lkr_oem/ The attached photo shows the car in 2H, the lock symbol over the axle, driving 70mph

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

63 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11766181

Since recall 68C was completed in February, the performance of the vehicle in Electric mode has degraded significantly. Prior to 68C, the gas engine was nearly impossible to engage in electric mode which was a good thing and clearly intended for extreme circumstances where unusually rapid acceleration was required. Also prior to 68C the electric acceleration was dependable and predictable both around town and at highway speeds. I live atop a 1.5 mile hill and could travel bottom to top without the engine engaging. Since 68C, I have consistently observed multiple changes in performance in electric mode: 1) the engine will engage much sooner and more frequently upon acceleration in any conditions. Wherever it happens, this is an unpredictable behavior that puts instant load on a cold, unlubricated engine. 2) At and approaching highway speeds in electric mode, the vehicle will begin to lose acceleration, hesitate and the gas engine will engage - again putting load on a cold, unlubricated engine. This can happen after several miles or after just a few miles. When the engine engages, it does not engage smoothly - the engine will rev high then drop down, then rev high then disengage - all inconsistently and all unexpectedly. While this is happening, the vehicle's acceleration or ability to maintain speed is inconsistent and constant manipulation of the throttle is necessary to ensure I'm not losing too much speed relative to the traffic around me. I don't know what changes were made as part of the 68C recall remedy but it has dramatically changed how electric mode is managed, has significantly decreased vehicle performance in electric mode and puts my and my passengers' safety at risk when I'm driving. The problem has not been reproduced by a dealer and I've confirmed that the latest software is installed. The component has not been inspected. The issues described above only presented after the 68C recall work was performed and occur without warning.

Metal chunks found in engine oil, and as were not metal powder swirl, shavings, or specs, possibly from bottom engine crankshaft. At the crank pulley, with the belt off, I could feel nudge by hand from the middle, for an engine component with max specified endplay 0.012 inches, or fraction of a millimeter. An existing manufacturer recall, and not a safety recall, for this 2021 Jeep Wrangler 2.0L Turbo is inspection for loose bolts for water pump inlet. This vehicle will not be available for inspection requests, because it is still not, and waiting to be, diagnosed as the dealer could not necessarily hear an engine issue. I have heard it knock, like a rumbling V8 and turbo whined, and recently I decided to strain the old and knocking oil that I kept and discovered metal. There was something wrong all along. Top engine, with good gas mileage, has been fine. The safety concern to this vehicle is metal in oil to possibly enter top engine and create sudden or instant engine seizure while in operation. The safety of driver or others could be at risk. The safety concern to this vehicle is also the detioration of engine components since they appear under the sole discretion of this motorized vehicle. This means, no other factor known to the driver of this vehicle by which rate of engine detioration has occurred. An indicating observation to be made into this vehicle's safety is the endplay of the crankshaft. This vehicle is nearly 97,000 miles odometer. The endplay seems very excessive, causing me to speculate on original factory fitment and installation during assembly. What determinations into a non-safety recall of loose water pump bolts might emerge as consideration into engine interior deterioration, as rate of this deterioration appear under sole vehicle discretion and remain unknown to the driver. Insufficient cooling is known to cause buildup in any engine, this vehicle has burped coolant air. No warning lights in the dash was seen.

We had just reached highway speed of 70mph and the Jeep began a normal regen cycle. However, the engine revved up on it’s own and the check engine light came on and a message that stated the exhaust filter was 100% full see a servicing dealer. Then without any warning, the Jeep went into limp mode from 70mph-50mph. With no notice, we were thrown forward due to the sudden decrease in speed. This action caused the vehicles behind us to swerve to avoid collision. My adaptive cruise control shut itself off and the electronic throttle control warning light started flashing. My throttle control was weak and unreliable, taking a lot of pedal to respond and then not needing hardly any pedal and would surge forward with sudden speed. It was a very dangerous situation. We continued driving in limp mode as there were no safe locations to stop and we didn’t have any cell service. Both malfunction lights remained on and we drove straight to our dealer. They said the EGR cooler failed and clogged up all of the EGR system with soot and then burned out the catalytic converter. They were able to clear the soot out of the system and cleared the malfunction lights so we could drive it home as they didn't have any loaners to offer us. The service advisor told us if we had another vehicle we should park the Jeep and not drive it until the parts come in. They have no ETA on either the EGR cooler nor the catalytic converter. I have been in contact with the manufacturer and there has been no progress on sourcing parts, I am looking in to pursuing a lemon law claim as this vehicle is not compliant with any emissions standards and if not repaired will injure us and others. It is available for inspection with notice, as it is parked at my house I would prefer advanced notice of any inspectors arrival. The warning lights are no longer on, but it sounds and runs like crap and even if the parts are replaced I will always worry that it will do it again. We could have been killed.

My 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (3.6L eTorque, automatic transmission) has experienced recurring drivetrain instability beginning at approximately 2,000 miles while under factory warranty. The vehicle intermittently exhibits a high-RPM flare during acceleration, where the engine speed increases without a commensurate increase in vehicle acceleration. The transmission then abruptly engages, causing sudden jerking. At low speeds (approximately 10–5 mph), the vehicle shudders and harshly downshifts, creating a sudden grabbing sensation. Engine RPMs fluctuate during deceleration as if the transmission cannot smoothly match engine speed. Braking feels inconsistent, and at times it feels as though the vehicle is accelerating or resisting braking input before abruptly slowing. The vehicle has felt as though it would stall at low speeds and has stalled intermittently. Additionally, the forward collision warning / automatic emergency braking system has activated without an obstacle present. There have also been intermittent instances of loss of power steering assist. The engine has developed a ticking noise and a high-pitched ringing/whining sound from the engine area during operation. In January 2026, the transmission catastrophically failed and required replacement of the transmission, torque converter, cooler, and control module. The vehicle was out of service for over 24 days. Following installation of a Mopar remanufactured transmission and torque converter, the same symptoms have recurred, including RPM flare, delayed shifting, shuddering, harsh downshifts, unstable deceleration, and abnormal engine noises. These conditions present a safety concern due to loss of expected acceleration, unpredictable torque engagement, unintended braking activation, intermittent power steering loss, stalling behavior, and drivetrain instability. The vehicle is currently under further diagnostic evaluation. I have multiple documents, but the file is too large to upload

I would like to express a concern with how Jeep is handing the issue with the hybrid batteries in the Wrangler 4XE. I'm connected with the 4XE across the US and Canada and I am seeing issues with how they are addressing the potential for fires in the batteries. In my case, my Jeep was initially part of the B9A recall but was removed from the list. I was on the 04B recall list and had that update performed. A few months later, my battery triggered the P0BBD code that indicated that I needed a new battery. We have seen this trend in the 4XE community where someone who wasn't on the B9A list ended up having a battery issue. Some of these instances include Jeeps that were on the 04B list but had yet to receive that update because Jeep communicated that it was a "defrost" recall without telling customers that they were receiving the same updates that were included in the B9A. So some people are putting off a very important recall because they believe it is just a defrost recall. After I had my battery replaced, the latest 95B recall was issued. My Jeep is on this recall list even though I just had a new battery installed. It would sure seem like the issue with the separators in the battery would have already been known when my new battery was installed. To me, that is an unsafe mishandling of the situation to put a known faulty battery in during a replacement. I do not feel that Jeep is handing these battery issues well and I believe they need some sort of accountability in place to make sure they are truly resolving the issue and not putting band aids on a major issue. We have tracked some data in the 4XE community and are aware that way more batteries were impacted than Jeep announced would be. As well, many batteries have had to be replaced after the recall. This tell me that either Jeep isn't being very forthcoming with the data or they just don't know the correct method for addressing this matter. We need something done before someone gets hurt or killed.

I have a brand new 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, which is a hybrid and electric vehicle, which gives about 30 miles on a full battery charge. Since the electric mode distance is limited, the car has a hybrid and gas-only mode that runs on gas for when the battery needs a charge after 30 miles. The following problem occurred over 10 times in a 2 day timeframe: The vehicle gave a dashboard warning that stated "service charging system" and "service transmission" plus my Jeep app gave a message "a charge fault has occurred." Within 10 seconds, the entire car shut off. At the time, I was going 60 mph on a freeway. This nearly caused a 10-car pile up, but I was fortunately able to get onto the shoulder despite the entire electrical system shutting down. I was lucky, because after 10 seconds, the car came to an immediate stop and I could not move it at all. At the time, I had two-thirds full tank of gas. I was able to start the engine about 15 minutes later. Shortly thereafter, the same problem occurred again after about 5 minutes of driving. This sequence repeated itself over 10 times until I was able to get towed to a nearby dealership. I was advised that the battery needed to be charged and this problem would not occur. This is an unacceptable explanation, since this vehicle has a gas-only mode to account for the 30 mile electrical battery distance. The following day, I got a full charge, but the problem happened again on the freeway, this time with 20% battery remaining and a one-half tank of gas. I had to get towed for the second time in two days. This is a very dangerous problem. This car should be recalled. Someone could have died due to the car completely shutting off while on a freeway and coming to a total half after only 10 seconds. The Jeep 4xe online forum reports 10 separate episodes of the same problem. I have attached a pdf of the formum to prove this is a recurrent issue. I am certain that someone will suffer a fatality from this recurrent problem.

While driving at highway speed on November 11, 2025, my 2021 Jeep Wrangler experienced a sudden and complete electrical failure without warning. A “Battery Saver Mode” message appeared, and within seconds multiple safety systems began shutting down. First Failure: While driving on the highway and exiting, the vehicle abruptly lost power steering, ABS, stability control, airbag system, exterior lighting, dashboard displays, and engine power. Multiple warning lamps illuminated at once. Steering and braking became extremely difficult, creating an immediate safety risk. I was able to coast to a stop and park. The vehicle then appeared stable and the messages cleared. Second Failure: After restarting the vehicle, the warning reappeared. While driving on a major high-traffic roadway, the vehicle experienced a total electrical shutdown in active traffic and would not restart. Third Failure: A towing service attempted to jump-start the vehicle; it briefly powered on, illuminated nearly every warning light, then immediately shut down again with the radiator fan running at full speed. The electrical system continued to collapse and the vehicle required a full tow. Inspection and Diagnosis: The dealership confirmed a complete alternator and charging system failure at approximately 36,419 miles. This failure occurred at only 4 years of age, which is unusually early for an alternator or charging system failure. The vehicle’s original battery also failed unusually early (at only 2.5 years old) without warning, which may have been an early indication of a charging system issue. The vehicle is lightly used, garage-kept, never off-roaded, and regularly maintained. The sudden loss of steering assist, braking assist, airbags, lighting, and engine power at speed and in high-traffic areas created an extreme safety risk for myself and others. This appears to be a premature electrical system failure and may relate to broader charging system concerns reported in similar vehicles.

2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4xe has now lost total power twice and had extreme 'Death Wobble' issues. In 08/2021, at approx 1,400 miles, the vehicle lost all power and control on the highway while going speed limit at 70 mph. The screen reported issue with electronic stability control system. It was a dangerous situation trying to move to the side of the highway with no power nor power steering. Once on the side, multiple warning lights were on and vehicle would not start but control lights remained on. I called the dealership/service department of South Point Dodge and their recommendation was to disconnect the battery connection to reset. I was driving from Houston so I was desperate to get the car to start as my family was waiting outside of the car on the highway as well. I reconnected battery terminal and was able to restart the vehicle. At around 12k miles, I started experiencing extreme Jeep Wobble aka 'Death Wobble.' This occurred often while doing speed limit between 55-65 mph/higher on the highway and if vehicle hit a bump. The only way to stop the shaking was to slow down by braking to approximately 35-40 mph. In 02/2023, dealer changed out the 'dampners' and did update for electrical recall. On 03/14/2023, at approx 23k miles, the vehicle again lost complete power, would not restart and multiple warning lights came on. Control panel reported Electronic Stability Control Issue, Fuel Door Open when it physically was not, Vehicle in Drive while physically in park. Vehicle would not restart. Disconnected the battery terminal but this did not correct the issue. Vehicle was manually put into neutral to put onto tow truck. This vehicle has caused several life threatening concerns. Despite the recall fixes, the same issues continue to be present and long term solution is not available at this time. Had I known this Jeep would have such a dangerous electrical system that cannot be fixed, I wouldn't have purchased such an expensive, dangerous, worthless car.

I have a 2021 Sahara Wranger with only 11,000 miles and is only 16mths old, all stock. On November 11, 2021 is the first time experiencing the so called death wobble. I hit a divot from a recessed reflector that lines the yellow lines in the road. I was going only 55 when I only drove over two, when suddenly my steering wheel and while Jeep started shaking violently. I let my foot off the accelerator , letting the Jeep slow down to under 50 when it finally stopped. It was very frightening to me and my daughter and called the dealership immediately to report the issue and was very nervous to drive it again. After inspection at the dealership I was told they couldn’t find a problem so I took off feeling maybe it was just a freak thing. But then a month later the same thing happened, but this time I was coming down a steep grade around 60mph when there was a small divot that I ran over and again the steering wheel shacking violently and the whole Jeep shaking worse then the first time. I tried not to break and let my foot off the accelerator again, but this time the Jeep wouldn’t slow down by its self because I was going down hill. I thought I was going to loose control of the vehicle and crash. Shaking, I pulled over and called the dealership immediately. I told them I was afraid to drive the vehicle and I wanted it taken care of immediately. I had to have my husband drive it to the dealership for me, because I was to scared. After hours and hours or research on the internet, I don’t understand why this hasn’t been recalled. It is a serious safety issue and needs to be addressed. My Jeep has now been in the shop for three days, and I have not been given and information on what they are doing about it. I have read many many articles on how the dealership will just use a bandaid to fix it and it will happen again. I’m not sure if I can feel safe ever driving it again. This is a band new vehicle and everyone with this 2021 model should be contacted and told about this

TIRES

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11503480

We purchased our Jeep brand new in January 2021. Tire Details: Bridgestone Dueler A/T, Size 255/70R18, Load Index: 133T, Speed Rating: M+S, DOT/Tire ID#: 93XJ RHF 4820. In November 2022, we experienced a catastrophic sidewall blowout of the passenger side front tire while driving 75-80 mph in the high speed lane on I-75. We were instantly warned by the dashboard automatic tire pressure monitoring system. The tire pressure dropped from normal to zero in a matter of 100 yards. This warning saved our lives. To this day, I still don’t know how we got the Jeep safely over to the emergency lane on the right side of I-75 during high traffic. Key point to note – we only had approximately 30,000 miles on our tires at the time of the incident. We called Florida’s Road Rangers who put our spare tire on the vehicle. When we got to our destination, we took it to the Okeechobee Jeep Dealer. The Service Manager and Mechanic both said they had never seen a sidewall blown out like this tire. They recommended we contact Bridgestone to notify them of a safety complaint and possible monetary credit. At their recommendation we took detailed pictures of the blown tire. The Dealer pitched the blown tire as we had a car full of luggage. We purchased a new Bridgestone tire from this Jeep Dealer at that time as we did not want to ride around with no spare. We were not sure of the integrity of the remaining 3 tires. We contacted Bridgestone, Ref # 1387342. After talking to a series of Reps, they seemed indifferent about this unsafe event and said they could do nothing on the tire warranty since we did not go to an authorized Bridgestone dealer. A Rep said if we had the original tire they would warranty it, but the pictures would not suffice! I came away with the sense that Bridgestone does not have any concern about their tire safety. They never asked for the pictures or the DOT/Tire Identification number. They did not stand behind their tires from a warranty aspect.

After picking up the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe from the dealership for repairs to the rotors and struts and bearings, the Wrangler was running roughly. Before I was halfway home, I called the dealer back to explain the engine was running roughly, wasn't able to get over 40mph, and was acting as if it was going to stall or lose power. I stated I needed to bring it back because I wasn't going to be able to drive it like this. Before I got halfway back to the dealership, the Wrangler lost power and was making a noise as if it was going to blow up. I was barely able to get it off the side of the road and narrowly missed a rearend collision from the vehicle behind me. I was on a dark, heavily traveled two lane road during evening work traffic hours. Dealership did send a tow truck. This occurred late October of 2024. The vehicle is still at the dealership and is still not repaired or running as of today 4/25/25 although the dealer says they are working to locate the exact problem. The dealership state after initially suspecting the e-battery, it is an electrical problem but are unable to locate the exact location of the electrical problem. The dealership stated they have opened a ticket with Stellantis and that Stellantis sent a technician to examine the vehicle and determined that is indeed an electrical issue but did not know where the problem was or how to repair. It appears that the Wrangler is not repairable, and it is still under the manufactures warranty of 3 years/36,000. I have included service invoices that show there were 2 other incidents where the Wrangler would not start. In one other incident, the vehicle had to be towed to the dealership. Just before the vehicle lost power, multiple warning lights began lighting up the dashboard, including (believe it or not) a turtle. I am uncertain as to what else came up, it was cold, dark and I was on a heavily traveled road during work traffic hours. A Sheriff's Department deputy did respond to my location.

After dealer recall 21D inspection on 7/30/2026 I have experienced 2 electrical failures in the recall system, and/or systems associated with recall. The first incident on 7/31/2026 at approximately 9:00 PM my wife, 2 kids, and a neighbors kid were at a stop light for a 4 lane road when the Jeep unexpectedly made a popping sound and shut down. When I arrived I pushed the vehicle into a parking lot and attempted to restart. I was able to restart the vehicle but instantly started seeing multiple warnings including Service Power Steering (code associated with the recall), Throttle body warning, and Warning that the vehicle would shutdown for safety. After the vehicle shutdown the electrical system went crazy (gauge cluster lights flashing, windshield wipers turned off and on, relays clicking). I had the vehicle taken to my mechanic on 8/6/2026 where they determined that the AUX battery was bad (previously replaced in 05/2026) AND the main fuse array fuse N3 was blown. The mechanic replaced both components, tested the vehicle, and rechecked for any new error codes. On 8/11/2026 my wife and 2 kids attempted to leave soccer practice and the Jeep would not start. I brought them home and returned to the Jeep. As it was near closing time for most auto parts retailers I decided to start by having the main battery tested. When I opened the hood to remove the battery I noticed that the engine compartment seemed abnormally hot. I removed the battery and had it tested by AutoZone (failed-only 6 CCA). I purchased a new battery and when I installed I still noticed an abnormally high temperature in the engine compartment. After installing the new battery the Jeep started & instantly displayed a power steering warning. I shut the vehicle down and let it rest approximately 30min. When restarted a low voltage warning displayed immediately. I returned the next day to a dead Jeep. I returned the Jeep to the dealership that inspected for 21D. (Aux batt. bad & main fuse array blown AGAIN)

Subject: 2021 Wrangler Unlimited (3.6L) Automatic with manufacturing defects. I am writing this email to complain about my 2021 Wrangler Unlimited (3.6L) Automatic that I Purchased on 28 November 2021 from Trading Enterprises company LLC Al-Futtaim group(sales Office Dubai UAE-DFC). Unfortunately, The Jeep’s problem started on day one drive-by suspecting strange noises coming from the Engine’s side. I requested an appointment at Trading Enterprises Dubai, and the Service Advisor told me the sound is normal (it's a new car, and the noise will go after some time). In January 2022 I went on a mountain camping trip with my small family in Fujairah city and suddenly the car’s power was cut completely on a steep mountain(Have shared the videos with the TE team showing the front wheels are not spinning). The car was about to roll over and I was embarrassed, frightened, and worried about my family’s safety. I managed to get my family safe out of the car and, with the help of friends, I took the car to a safer place. On 29/1/2022 (TE Walk Around Inspection) after the test drives, the TE team requested to keep the car for proper checking and after a few days, the Service Advisor informed me that it was a problem with the 4W system, especially considering that 4L was not engaged due to a wiring problem and they had to rectify the issue, I swallow it with pain. The car is sluggish when accelerating in the first gear and misfires when I depress the gas pedal, I was on a construction site where they have a ramp and suddenly a big truck shows up and so I needed acceleration from the car but it doesn’t respond. The gas pedal was to the maximum and it still doesn’t work, it was a huge close call as I nearly crashed into a truck. On 13/4/2022 I experienced the same issue on the sand and the highway with extra problems and decided to visit the TE as I can't take this anymore, TE team requested to keep the car to check the issues. 8 weeks now and the car is still with the dealer

In late October I started experiencing a total vehicle body "shudder" when driving on the freeway and hitting uneven paving. This condition started getting worse and worse. The car was unmanagable when travelling at a speed over 58 and hitting uneven paving - the shudder took over the entire car and steering. There was no recourse but to try to safely pull over and stop the car. Upon research I found this is a now COMMON OCCURENCE called the DEATH WOBBLE. Generally it happens in modified Jeeps however my car is les than two years old with less than 16,000 miles on it. When I could finally get time at the dealership I was met with, oh yes we had five new jeeps in here just last week with this condition we are seeing it all the time. The part that is supposed to provide remedy is back ordered by at least three weeks - is this as there as so many incidents?. The dealership told me to take my car home until they had a part. The car is NOT SAFE to drive at any accelerated speed with this condition. There was no prior warning of this condition and nor would I expect it in a new vehicle but upon research I am learning how many people are experiencing this and questioning why there has not yet been a recall. The part offered as remedy by the dealership - the steering damper - has been identified as a "band aid" - and that it is likely the condition will re-occur. This is not acceptable or safe for any new Jeep owner (or any Jeep owner) I urge, no I BEG you, to investigate this "death wobble" condition and strongly consider a recall for the manufacturer before there are serious injuries and deaths caused by this. Having personally experienced this it is a terrifying experience - the entire car feels like it is out of control and everything is going to fall off including the tires and that the axle will break - it makes me never want to drive that car again with any degree of confidence and feeling of safety. I urge you to just google DEATH WOBBLE. Please help

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The hybrid-electric system, including the high-voltage battery, battery pack control module (BPCM), and associated cooling systems, repeatedly malfunctioned. These failures caused loss of power while driving, electrical odors, and error messages. The vehicle is currently at the dealership for service and is available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle has lost power multiple times while in motion, including on city streets and highways. These unexpected power losses significantly increased the risk of rear-end collisions and limited my ability to safely accelerate or steer in traffic. I have had to take anxiety medication when driving the vehicle due to fear of these events recurring, and I am deeply concerned about the safety of my family, including a newborn passenger. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The issues have been confirmed by an authorized Jeep dealership on multiple occasions. Despite several recall campaigns and attempted repairs, the same power loss and electrical system problems have recurred. Service advisors and technicians acknowledged the problems and attempted component replacements and reprogramming, but the malfunctions persist. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle has been inspected and serviced exclusively by an authorized Jeep/Chrysler dealership (Autonation CDJR in Roseville, CA). There is no indication that FCA/Stellantis corporate has physically inspected the vehicle beyond dealership reports. It has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. 5. Hello, I am writing to escalate an urgent issue involving my vehicle recall and my scheduled shipment. I have paid over three thousand dollars to Montway as my broker, and at this point all involved parties have failed to provide a clear solution. I cannot move forward without immediate support. My Jeep is experiencing a recurring battery recall for the seventh time. This is a product defect that is outside of my control. My vehicle is scheduled to ship through Pasha in the coming days, and the recall must be resolved before drop off. Pasha has informed me that I cannot keep the vehicle at the port before the appointment window, and Montway has not provided any realistic guidance on where the vehicle can be safely held. I hired Montway to help coordinate this process. I paid for professional support. Being told to find a holding location myself while coordinating a safety recall is not acceptable. I need all parties to provide real solutions and support. I need the following: Written confirmation from Jeep that the recall service will be completed at no cost to me and that my VIN is being handled as a priority case. Written confirmation from Montway that my shipment schedule remains active and that I will not be charged additional fees caused by this recall. Clear guidance on the correct next steps for temporary holding or drop off timing so I can comply with Pasha requirements without further disruption. I am not responsible for additional fee that has been involved due to the recall alert from 2 days ago, just a few days before my vessel departs. I have now been informed that I may need to pay additional costs due to delays and complications caused by this recall. I need to make it very clear that I am not responsible for any extra fees related to this situation. This recurring defect is a Jeep product issue and has nothing to do with my actions or maintenance. I should not be financially penalized for a repeated safety failure that is fully docume

Date: [XXX] Subject: Immediate Safety Concern – 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe – Acceleration Failure Dear Jeep Customer Care, I am the owner of a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe, VIN [XXX] , with approximately 50,000 miles. I am writing to report a critical and potentially fatal safety defect that occurred multiple times on [XXX], most notably at the intersection of [XXX] and [XXX] in Oregon. On multiple occasions, when attempting to accelerate from a full stop into an intersection with cross traffic traveling at 55 mph or more, the vehicle failed to respond to throttle input. Instead of accelerating, the Jeep simply rolled slowly into the intersection despite my foot fully depressing the accelerator pedal. This placed me at immediate risk of being struck broadside by oncoming vehicles at high speed, which could have resulted in catastrophic injury or death. The check engine light was on since [XXX] and my husband drove the Jeep to Lithia Chrysler Dodge of Bend (Oregon) on June 4th, 2025, 12 pm. They ran a computer test and told my husband that there was a recall on the battery but that we could still drive the car, and it was safe but not to charge the car (we followed instructions). We couldn’t even secure a vehicle appointment until July 2nd, 2025. How do you not prioritize a potentially critical situation? This defect is entirely unacceptable and renders the vehicle unsafe for operation. I will not drive the vehicle further due to the danger involved. Given the severity of this defect, I request: •Immediate investigation by Jeep/FCA engineering and technical teams. •Safe transport (towing) of the vehicle to an authorized service center at Jeep’s expense. •Full documentation of the inspection, diagnosis, and resolution of this issue. •Confirmation of whether this issue has been reported in other 4xe vehicles or constitutes part of a larger safety defect investigation. 1. The vehicle caught fire during normal operation. It is a 2021 Jeep Wrangler (VIN [XXX]) subject to FCA US Recall 21D / NHTSA Campaign 26V363000, which identifies the electric hydraulic power steering (EHPS) pump and its wiring as a fire source that can overheat and ignite. The exact failed component has not yet been confirmed by diagnostic, but the fire is consistent with the defect described in that recall. The vehicle is intact and available for inspection — it was towed to Waxahatchie Jeep, an authorized Stellantis dealer in Waxahachie, TX, on June 19, 2026 and remains in their custody under repair order [XXX]. 2. The vehicle caught fire while being driven on the highway between Waxahachie and Ennis, Texas, with two occupants returning from a Boy Scout trip, my husband, the driver, and our [XXX] son. The driver was forced to take evasive action, steering off the roadway into a service station to get the occupants clear and stop the fire from spreading further. This created a serious risk of burns, of a collision during the evasive maneuver, and of harm to the occupants and other motorists. 3. Has the problem been reproduced…? No. No diagnostic has been performed. The vehicle has been in the authorized dealer’s custody since June 19, 2026 ([XXX]), but the manufacturer has not completed an inspection or diagnostic. The underlying defect is the subject of an active recall (21D / 26V363000) affecting more than one million 2021–2025 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles, for which the manufacturer has stated no remedy is yet available. 4. The vehicle was towed by AAA to Waxahatchie Jeep on June 19, 2026 and has remained there since. It has not yet been formally inspected or diagnosed by the manufacturer. 5. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the fire. The first indication of a problem was smoke from the engine area at which point the driver immediately pulled off the road and saw a plume of smoke coming from the exhaust. When i was on [XXX] I hit a red light and when the light turned green, I went to put my foot on the gas and it would not go so the person behind me almost hit. I had to put the jeep into park and I put it back into drive then proceeded to go and it was still driving like I didn’t have complete control of the steering so then om [XXX]. I set up an appointment with Sands Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram. When I was on the phone With the advisor, she told me that was the death wobble that I was experiencing, but I need to have The Jeep diagnosed to verify that so I got a multi point inspection report Sent to me that said , Caution Steering Linkage (Damage/Leaks/Worn Components) Pending Recommendations Replace Steering Damper (Stabilizer) Associated Item General concern #1 customer states vehicle was shaking heavily on highway. The dealership is charging me when they know that Fiat Chrysler automobiles (FCA) , The former parent company of Jeep issued a recall for the 2018 to 2019 Jeep, Wrangler and Jeep gladiator models due to a steering wheel vibration issue known as the “ Death wobble”. FCA recalled over 190,000 vehicles to replace the front suspension steering damper also known as the stabilizer. and that’s Exactly what I needed to have replaced, steering damper Also known as stabilizer. Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11641641

The following is copy of an email sent to JEEP CEO in November and then again in January. I have not received a response. I have also sent an email to the dealer. I ask NHTSA to look into Dear Mr. [XXX] : I would like your assistance in a major issue I am having with my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sport. I have contacted the dealer (Airpark Jeep- [XXX] ) and your corporate customer service department with both saying they are unable to help me. As I am sure you know, social media has a lot of information on what is referred to as the Jeep Death Wobble- A problem with the stabilizer bar. My jeep has this issue and it hits mostly at highway speeds causing the entire jeep to shake violently until the jeep settles down. This is now happening too many times and there is nothing the driver can do, but hold tight on the wheel and hope the shaking doesn't cause an accident. I can not believe this was not addressed via a safety recall! This problem has the potential in my opinion to lead to serious injury or death of passengers in the jeep and others nearby! I will be turning the jeep in at the end of February and I assume the dealer will have to fix the problem (I am told it takes a couple hours to replace the stabilizer bar), before the vehicle is sold as a used jeep. To allow this condition to exist is inexcusable by both Jeep HQ and the local Jeep dealer. Because this has been a known issue and Jeep and your dealers have done nothing to resolve this problem, I will not simply go away. I and other jeep owners are owed something more than "We can't help". I have owned two CJ-7s, one Grand Cherokee, and now my Wrangler Sport. As part of a Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team, I am required to have a solid 4-wheel drive vehicle. Based on this experience and a few other issues that were not resolved, I will now consider purchasing the Ford Bronco instead. I would like the courtesy of a response please. Thank you, [XXX] [XXX] Deputy Director FBI NEIA INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FR
