SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20230216-99B7B-2147349680. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Samsung RF263BEAESR. Source model text: RF263BEAESR/AA. Incident: I have Samsung French Door refrigerator RF263BEAESR with an ongoing temperature control issue. The ice maker and evaporator fan ice up, preventing air from circulating to cool the unit. The refrigerator is set to 35 degrees F and this temp displayed this on the external monitor. However, I've checked the internal temp with an independent thermometer and refrigerator cools to just 46.4 degrees F. My foods spoils quickly and is unsafe to eat!! The ice maker has been turned off and this doesn't help the issue. Also, I must defrost the fridge every couple of months, which provides temp relief.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20200528-98195-2147372058. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Samsung RF263BEAESR. Incident: Purchased a Samsung refrigerator from Best Buy and have had nothing but problems with it ever since it was purchased. The ice machine freezes up causing it to leak was and make it impossible to get ice out. The ice tray has cracked and I have found pieces of plastic in the ice as a result. In addition I recently had to use an outdoor fridge to keep everything cold and I am strongly considering replacing the unit due to the inconsistent performance, the terrible noise the machine makes, the fear or plastic in the ice and concern the unit might begin leaking again and food spoil.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20200618-C660F-2147371624. Matched catalog product: Samsung RF263BEAESR. Incident: We have been dealing with issues with our Samsung appliances since we bought them in 2016. The refrigerator's ice maker freezes up, does not produce ice, leaks to the point it causes damage, and does not maintain safe food temperature. The stovetop range also does not keep correct temp and the dishwasher fails to dispense the detergent, thus failing to clean anything. We opened up tickets regarding the fridge and dishwasher back in 2018. The only reason we waited was that I was pregnant with twins and then dealt with the sudden death of my father. Since then, we've had multiple ticket numbers open with them: [REDACTED]. None of these resolved the defect issues. A few weeks ago I reached out again to resolve the fridge issues, I was assigned to the French Door Action Team and was told by [REDACTED] that I would be provided a full refund plus sales tax (documented). Since then I have had my ticket number canceled and reopened repeatedly. My newer ticket numbers are [REDACTED]. In those tickets, I was guaranteed a full refund plus sales tax ($1616.99) if I submitted my receipt of purchase, which I did multiple times. I was then told I would receive a prorated amount of $1427.30 ([REDACTED]) and then the amount changed to a little over $900 ([REDACTED]). These amounts changed in a matter of days and hours. I am now escalating the matter given their gross incompetence, poor service, and no real attention given that this is a known issue. It is a design defect that has sparked a cl

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20201110-047DC-2147368203. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Samsung RF263BEAESR. Incident: My samsung acct has extensive notes on the issue I am having with my defective Samsung refrigerator model RF263BEAESR...this has been an ongoing problem for months and months including 6 hour chats with Samsung, 2 repair calls, unanswered emails, phone calls...I have been on hold for over 2 and a half hours on my phone last week with case management they would not pick up and answer the call....I have 6 people in my house, a refrigerator that has been repaired twice in the same week and the fridge is still not cooling, it stays over 40 degrees, I have thrown away food, I have filed a complaint with the NJBBB, I am communicating with an attorney on small claims court, I have sent in info on food loss compensation, no response... I just want a refund of 2000 for the cost of the defective fridge and 400 for food loss compensation. I am in contact with our local news station, my uncle works at one and a family friend works at the other, they are working on a story that shows what issues people are having with this particular refrigerator. I am seeing my doctor for anxiety that has come back due to the stress of this cooling issue, and my child has an upcoming appt with an internal doctor to see if his stomach issues are from improperly cooled food. i just want to replace my defective refrigerator with one that cools properly. This company continues to give the run around even though a refund is the right thing for Samsung to do for their customers; I have been on too many phone c

Purchased in 2013. I began to have water collecting in deli tray and icing on walls. I called Samsung and they issued a ticket. I payed a Samsung tech to fix the issue on 10/20/2021. About 4 MTHS later waterline & food began to freeze. I called Samsung and was advised to reset fridge by unplugging. I did that. After about an hour of fridge being plugged in and running again, the refrigerator began filling up with water and pouring water out onto kitchen floor like a waterfall.. I had to urgently cut off water supply. Now fridge compressor doesn't even turn on anymore. This fridge has caused very much damage to my home and now refrigerator is being replaced. it was an expensive defective fridge. I put more money into it to be serviced. I lost all food in it, plus water Damages. Myself and my children could have been severely hurt

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20220607-1BCD0-2147355736. Severity: Injury, Seen by Medical Professional. Matched catalog product: Samsung RF263BEAESR. Incident: Bought a new Samsung refrigerator in Dec. 2014. In June 2021, water was appearing inside the refrigerator and the temperature inside wasn't maintaining at the temperature that it was set at/safe temperature, resulting in spoiled food. I paid Samsung $423 to have it fixed, which lasted only 5 months as again in Nov 2021 the same issues happened. Samsung sent a company to repair again, this time at no charge to me because I escalated up to senior level staff through numerous phone calls. In May 2022, the same issues started happening again, and I became aware of a [REDACTED] group dedicated to helping consumers with Samsung refrigerators. Apparently the issues with my refrigerator are known fatal defects that Samsung refuses to acknowledge despite numerous complaints with the NJ BBB and other agencies as well as a petition to recall Samsung French door refrigerators. It is a health hazard for water to leak inside of the refrigerator, not to mention the effects of the temperature inside being well above 40 F. I have been inconvenienced, have incurred great food expense, and risk to my health by not having a properly functioning refrigerator over the past 12 months, and will be requesting a refund from Samsung. Refrigerators should last more than 7 years.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260713-5C727-2147314016. Matched catalog product: Samsung RF263BEAESR. Incident: I Bought my Samsung refrigerator Sep 2019 and about 5 years ago the ice bucket that dispenses the ice broke, for a while i was bagging the ice and then i decided to off the ice machine and even though the ice machine is off it is completely covered frozen in ice like a huge ice block, i called Samsung and they said its out of warranty and to buy another ice bucket which is over 200 dollars. In 2023 the refrigerator started completely freezing in the back and the whole bottom of the fridge under the deli tray drawer becomes a thick ice sheet and if not taken out it melts and there is water all over the bottom of the fridge!! The refrigerator has always made popping noises and the temperature goes up and down and food spoils before expiring date especially milk. Alot of people have the same complaints for the same issues Samsung needs to be held responsible for selling defective refrigerators made cheaply at an expensive price
