Government / agencyIndexed Oct 28, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20140911-B50C1-2147441026. Matched catalog product: Samsung Samsung Galaxy S10FE 5G tablet and tablet cover. Source model text: SEE ABOVE. Incident: My Samsung Microwave Oven is approximately 3 years and 7 months old. It has worked well for all this time. However I returned from a 2 day trip and was sitting in the family room and suddenly the microwave came on with the window stating POPCORN. I never use that function but it was running full blast empty which causes it to heat up very quickly without something to absorb the rays to heat. that cabinet got very hot fast. I pushed the stop/clear button and it went to time. I decided to reset it like the instructions stated by unplugging it for 10-12 seconds and then plug into power. It came on ready to set the clock again which I did. however in less than 2 minutes it came on again to POPCORN and the inside plate was turning it had full power. If this had occurred while I was gone it could have resulted in a serious kitchen fire..I have heard of the before but never thought a good product like Samsung would do that. The vendor RC WILLEY was notified of the incident. I had a 5 year warranty on it. They called back and stated that ti would cost more to fix it than to get a new one and told me to come in and pick out any brand I wanted and they would uninstall the defective one and install a new one.\

Incident: The phone was placed on charge around 1230am on June 9, 2016 using the Samsung charger that is issued with the phone. The phone was sitting on the side of the bed, with nothing covering it, and around 4am the it pretty much exploded and caught on fire. The sound was so loud it woke my child up in the next room. The fire burnt through my sheets, mattress, and luckily no bodily harm was caused. This disaster occurred while we were sleeping and could have caused a lot more damage to my house and my family. This is unacceptable for a phone to burst into flames while charging. Now, he is without a phone, and my mattress smells like burnt plastic.

Incident: Today I heated a cup a coffee for 30 seconds and while opening the door to get the cup I noticed that the door stuck, as if it were too big for the opening. Because this was odd, I touched the glass turntable and burned my finger. The glass NEVER gets hot, but it was today. I called my husband and we discovered that the inside and the entire outside of the oven was hot, hot enough to heat a measuring cup of water we placed inside without turning the oven on. We unplugged the unit and called 1800-SAMSUNG to report the malfunction. We were issued a ticket number and told that a 3rd party service person would call to set up an appointment at which time we would determine whether it is worth fixing or not. The unit was purchased a little over three years ago and is not under warranty but we felt this was important to report since it is a safety issue.

After about two minutes there was a loud pop, then flames and smoke billowing from the unit. The heating element had caught fire and incinerated itself, reducing it to metal pellets on the oven floor. Luckily I was in the room and could deal with it though the heat singed my eyelashes (it was still that hot even after the flame was out). I am told the heating element can be replaced but I am worried about the safety of my family and my property with this appliance in the house. The unit is not new, but it is not even three years old and has been kept clean and in good repair.

I believed this is a fire hazard. The unit was repaired back in January of this year for the same issue. On 29 May 14, this jam and burnt paper happen again. I contacted the manufactory SAMSUNG and advised them of the situation. I believe this a design flaw in in this unit. I entered the home and I looked around there was no visible fire but there was a large amount of smoke. I went upstairs as that was the last place I was at and nothing. I checked the house and I when I entered the kitchen the front burner to my range was on and there was no reason for it to be. I was in disbelief as I am unclear as to how it was no fire but so much smoke and damage to my home and kitchen. Emergency was called but placed on hold and was advised that the call did not process. I had a temp job and attended work. I went to the Fire department station and was advised that it was nothing that they could do and made it seem as if I did something wrong. I was so lost and left with no options and no clue what to do. We just had a storm and [REDACTED] said that they would send someone out and they did and they also denied and rejected me as if it was my fault. I am now reaching out to make awareness to having issues with no resolution

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250902-BE79D-2147328151. Severity: Injury, Seen by Medical Professional. Product: Samsung Samsung Galaxy S10FE 5G tablet and tablet cover. Incident: Product: Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE 5G with official Samsung magnetic keyboard case (purchased through T-Mobile, a few months before incident). Date of Incident: Saturday, July 19, 2025 (evening). Incident Description: Tablet detached unexpectedly from official Samsung magnetic keyboard case. Device struck me in the mouth with significant force. Resulting injuries: Broken/chipped front tooth (permanent damage). Cuts to inside of upper and lower lips. Headache and radiating pain through nasal bone and into upper molars, lasting several weeks. Additional damage: Privacy screen protector cracked badly (tablet glass intact, but protector now unusable and must be replaced). Safety Concern: This was not due to misuse device was in normal use. Case failure resulted in lasting personal injury and secondary product damage. I previously used a Samsung Galaxy S4 in its official case for 8 years without any detachment. The Tab S10 FE 5G official case appears to have a design flaw that poses a hazard.
