Source model text: Vista V2. Incident: This complaint involves an UPPAbaby Vista V2 stroller and specifically the two rear wheels on the stroller. During normal operation of applying and releasing the brakes, the plastic adjacent to "catch points" within each wheel can crack, such that applying the brake allows the stroller to move several inches forward and backward until the next catch point is touched. To try to illustrate this a bit better, when you apply the locking break, a pin on the stroller is inserted into a hole in the rim of the wheel, and the plastic surrounding that hole prevents the tire from moving forward and backward. When these plastic pieces break during normal operation, there is no longer a hole roughly the size of the pin, but now multiple consecutive holes that are much larger then the pin. Thus, when the pin is inserted into the "hole," the stroller continues to move forward and backward until the pin hits the next non-broken piece. I contacted UPPAbaby and they refused to send a replacement part for this because it was not under warranty, but agreed that no further use of the dangerous product should continue.

I have never seen a stroller do that in my life and I fortunately quickly reacted and caught my son with the seat. The stroller is an Uppa Baby Vista. I contacted Uppa baby and they sent me a new frame since my stroller was still under warranty. They said they had never had any problems like this with any of their strollers. They asked me to send them a picture, but of course I didn't have time to take pictures as I quickly held my son with the seat and my fiance picked up the stroller and put it back in place. It snapped right back in. The stroller has a seat that detaches and reclines. At the time it happened the seat was in it's upright position so when the stroller collapse I grabbed the seat and that made the fall much smoother that my son didn't feel a thing.

The stroller is also equipped to add a toddler RumbleSeat to the front end of the stroller (designed and sold by the same company for this stroller). When the RumbleSeat is properly installed, the weight of the seat causes an increased torque on the crossbars welded joints when the stroller is turned to either side. While walking down the street on a smooth sidewalk with an 8 month baby in the stroller and a 2 year old toddler in the Rumble Seat, the welded joint completely broke apart. We were fortunate in that the children were safe and this joint was the only one that failed. The joint on the other end of this same crossbar is half detached. Had it failed at the same time the stroller would have collapsed.

The top seat fell onto the bottom seat which could have seriously injured my daughter. I noticed quickly the cause of the issue which is that the stroller is broken at the bottom. I contacted the company they did not offer to do a refund and have not at this time offered to replace the product. Moreover, I have concerns about the overall safety of the product with two seats given what they have listed as the weight and height capacity. I believe that either the second seat, the rumble seat, needs to be recalled or the height and weight capacity needs to be changed. It can cause a risk of suffocation or serious injury if the stroller is to suddenly collapse and the top seat gives out. I made the company aware of this and they did not seem to care.

Despite checking that both sides of the the seat were indeed inserted properly when I placed her in seat, the right side of the seat came out of the adapter site and the seat and my daughter nearly fell. I snapped it back in, thinking it just didn't snap securely the first time. We finished our shopping trip and my older daughter leaned on the foot rest briefly, again causing the seat to come loose. At that point, I became very concerned and put my daughter into the car. I snapped the seat back in again, but as I loaded the stroller into the car, the seat again came off. The engagement of the seat seems loose and unsafe for use. I feel my daughter could fall if we continue use of this stroller. The stroller is the Britax Affinity purchased in 2014.

Source model text: Vista chair 2012-2014. Incident: Hi - I own a 2011 Vista stroller. In 2018, I was expecting my second child and wanted to replace the fabric. UppaBaby said they no longer manufactured fabric for the 2011 Vista and offered to upgrade the baby seat entirely for $150 (new chair and new fabric). They told me they would send a chair from their 2012-2014 Vista line. They sent me the chair, it looked great and worked on my 2011 stroller frame. Fast-forward to 2019, I now have a 10-month old who is teething and he has been biting the foam fabric off the bumper bar and it comes away in big chunks. I did a google search and saw there was a recall of the Uppababy Vista 2015 model for this exact reason. It's shocking to me that Uppababy in 2018 is still sending consumers this dangerous product! There should be a recall on the 2012-2014 models as well. These strollers retail for around $1k and are used for many years. It's surprising to me that the recall only applied to one model and not all the models with the dangerous bumper bar.

Her forehead split open in two places and we had to take her to the emergency room where she got ten stitches. She also got surface scrapes on both wrists, one knee, and one toe. Five weeks later (today) she has large scars on her forehead where the stitches were.

Incident: I bought the Dream on Me 2 in 1 Lightweight Folding Portable Stationary side crib From Amazon on September 17th 2019. This crib broke TWICE, where its bottom simply gave away and my baby fell to the floor. The first time was in NOvember (exact date i donot remember). We thought maybe somehow the folding mechanism had been activated, refitted it back. Second time again it happened December 26th . We contacted the manufacturer on December 27th and were told we would get an email where we could fill out the details. No email came. I then contacted Amazon with my complaint. They told me that they had actually REMOVED the product form their website because of MULTIPLE similar complaints surrounding it. But they issued NO recall no warning to the other consumers who had already brought this product. AND this product is still being sold on their website through other sellers. But they think that is permissible. We want to query both the manufacturer of this item for making a defective and dangerous product and also question Amazon's decision in not issuing a recall/warning about a product that they KNEW was defective having received multiple complaints , enough for them to take it off their website.

Source model text: Dream on Me 3-in-1 portable folding crib. Incident: On May 24th 2011 I purchased a Dream On Me 3-in-one portable crib off of amazon.com which shipped from CSN stores. It arrived damaged on June 4th and I contacted CSN stores who then shipped me a replacement crib. On June 17th 2011 I opened the box containing the new crib and it too had surface damage (nicks in the wood) but I decided to keep it as I needed a crib and wasn't going to keep waiting for new ones to ship! I pulled out the first piece, which is partially assembled, and it fell apart. The 2 pieces had been glued together but not enough glue was used apparently. So, I had wood glue and glued the pieces together myself. They fit together well so I wasn't concerned. I assembled the entire crib and used it for less than 1 week with a 13 mth old child who weighs less than 20 lbs. He is a typical baby and when he was awake from his nap he was holding onto the side of the crib and bouncing up and down. I entered the room to get him when suddenly the crib shifted and a corner of the crib sunk down. The locking caster in the front of the crib snapped! This compromised the safety of the crib and the child! I contacted the CSN store as well as the manufacturer. CSN ordered a new caster, Dream on Me has yet to reply. I am very concerned about the safety of this crib! I have read many disturbing reviews on line now about this crib and feel that it needs attention. This crib does not feel well-built. Less than a month later, the 4 caster wheels started falling apart and collapsing. I contacted Walmart on Oct 13, 2014 and Walmart suggested I contact the manufacturer. On Oct 24, 2014 I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me replacement caster wheels. I replaced the wheels and again in less than 1 month, the wheels fell apart and started collapsing again. I contacted the manufacturer again and some email communications were received and upon my request for a resolution for the defective product, the manufacturer stopped replying to my email and I have sent across 3 follow up emails and noone has responded. The collapsed wheels are posing a risk of suffocation, as the baby is not on a flat even surface, but rather at an angle. No harm has been done to the baby as I have since bought a replacement crib from another manufacturer.
