Almost 2 weeks ago I was driving on the Florida Turnpike (about 77mph) and suddenly the gas quit on the car. It slower down to about 50mph as I kept trying to give it gas but to no avail. Meanwhile I was lucky enough to be able to steer it into the right lane. This seemed to last a long time but in. truth it was probably only about 5 - 7 seconds. Then suddenly the gas came back on. This happened two more times during the same trip but these were shorter in duration amounting to a big hiccup on the gas. It has never happened to me again. I took it to the Honda dealer. They said they took it out for a spin and couldn't replicate it and had no idea what was wrong. Now I rarely drive on roads that are high speed so perhaps that is why it has not happened again. I see that you are investigating a similar issue for CRV's that are 2018 -19 but mine is 2020. It sounds as though it's the same problem. Luckily I was never in an accident with the car so the police and insurance was never involved.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11542357

I purchased my Honda CR-V new from a dealer in 2020. It seemed to work fine, but earlier this year strange things started to happen with the electrical systems. The Remote starter would not work, the door locks and various lights would act strangely. The initial three -year warranty was up, but I had purchased an additional 4-year warranty extension. I took it to the dealer for repair and they said it needed a new Body Management System, which was on back order. several weeks later, I had that replaced, but they said they also had to replace the door locks, so I had to come back and have them do that too. On Sep. 1, I needed something from the car, but the fob wouldn't open the door and I had to use the manual key. I made a service appointment for Sep. 5, however on Sep. 3 I tried to use the car and found that it is totally dead. No electrical or electronic systems are working at all. From what I have read, I am concerned that this is an electrical problem that has been exhibited in many other CR-Vs as well.

While out of state for thanksgiving in 2025. after stopped for break, car started up with all of the warning lights and check engine lights on. Like front radar out, hybrid system fault and etc. took to Honda dealership near by immediate. Diagnosed (their words) customer states check engine light is on and flashing pulled codes had code p0562 and pOED. traction motor control module system voltage low and HV battery cell voltage sense circuit. went through honda trouble shooting and honda states to replace power control unit (PCU) and battery condition monitor module. test drove vehicle codes came back recommend replacing modules. includes reprogramming. They indicated it is not safe to drive as you may not able to start the car or it can die while running. This was at out of state and have to repair without options and get a rental car for a week. Tech said they never seen that before in hybrid. Local dealer back home said they can’t say they had issue before. Reached out to Honda Corporate before Christmas and they declined good will reimbursement request.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

48 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11594559

The high-pressure fuel pump in my vehicle failed. Unfortunately, this component is no longer available for inspection as it was repaired with a rebuild kit during repairs at the dealership. The failure of the fuel pump created a driving hazard. Due to insufficient fuel supply, the car exhibited erratic behavior, including the inability to maintain consistent speed. This caused the vehicle to drive at unusually low speeds, which impeded the flow of traffic. If this failure had occurred on the highway, it could have led to a fatal accident. To my knowledge, there has been no formal investigation into the failure of this component. The dealership rebuilt the high pressure fuel pump but did not conduct a thorough investigation into the root cause of the issue. The only indication of the impending failure was the activation of all warning lights on the dashboard when the car was started. Additionally, the vehicle became difficult to start. The first occurrence of this issue was on 06/08/2024, and the car became inoperable immediately after the initial warning signs.

I got onto the free and accelerated to the speed limit. I glanced at my dash and saw the check engine light start flashing. I could feel the car start to lose power and handle differently than normal. I immediately pulled to the shoulder and had the car towed to the dealership. They diagnosed it as having a blown head gasket and that coolant had gotten into 1 of the cylinders. The adviser informed me that 2018-2022 1.5 turbo and hybrid engines have been having issues with blown head gaskets. I had also been seeing complaints of that on social media before this happened to mine. My vehicle has over 100k miles and it isn’t even 6 years old. I have had older Hondas, acuras and Toyotas with similar mileage or more and no issues like this. If so many drivers are having blown head gaskets Honda needs to be looked into for this and have a recall to repair their defect. The service adviser told me it was nothing I had done to my vehicle to cause this. I get oil changes when the maintenance light comes on and I have completed scheduled maintenance on my vehicle. I also use Costco gas 95% of the time and only use other brands when traveling.

My car was parked in my driveway all day and all night. At some point during the evening all of the windows and moon roof were opened without my knowledge (my keys were on the counter). It rained all night and my car obtained substantial water damage which cost approximately $18,000.00 to repair. I couldn’t drive my car until the repairs were made due to risk of electrical incident while driving. Honda has taken no responsibility. My car is a 2020 Honda CRV. It was recently brought to my attention that windows opening unexpectedly on Honda CRVs has been an issue since at least 2017 with the most recent incident that I know of happening on a 2021 model. Honda has been aware of this “glitch” for at least five years but has done nothing to correct it. It is a safety issue for many reasons. I would like this “glitch” to be corrected so that others will not have to suffer the loss and damages that I did. Insult to injury is I purchased my car from Honda in 2020 for $33,000.00 and then in 2021 I had to pay Honda almost $18,000.00 to fix damages sustained due to their negligence in addressing an issue that they knew about for at least 5 years.

The component(s) may be electrical in nature for fuel pumps don't produce electricity. On 1/9/2024 after the car been locked and off for a few hours noticed something running at the rear of the car. The fuel pump was running. Got the car fob, started and cut off. No fuel pump was running after shutdown. My father was with me, it's his car. For safety sakes, premature failure of the fuel pump or engine will cause a stall, and while driving, potentially cause a crash. (Big picture), This car line in general has major fuel pump failures, and downstream, motor failure (fuel intrusion, known fact). If a fuel injector had a problem (leak by), motor failure. These known problems may originate at the starting switch, computer, or other in-between components. Called this into Vicksburg Miss. Cannon Honda dealership 1/10/24. It was said there was at least one more with the same problem, fuel pump running after shutdown, killing the battery or running it down. This car was bought at this dealership a year and half ago. No one has looked at the car, but if contacted, may by agreement, look at the car if a loaner can be acquired.

In November 2025 a new transmission was installed Curry Honda in Atlanta GA on my 2020 Honda CR-V. The new transmission came with a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty. In March 2026 my vehicle broke down and was towed to Tameron Honda in Daphne Al where a speed sensor was replaced at my expense of 388.44. The adaptive cruise control was not working prior to this repair. Within two weeks the vehicle experienced further issues and had to be driven in a compromised condition back to Curry Honda in Atlanta where the transmission wire harness was diagnosed as corroded and replaced at a cost of 1696.99. My vehicle has been garage-kept its entire life except when in the care of a dealership. Corrosion on a recently replaced transmission in a garage-kept vehicle cannot be attributed to environmental exposure or owner neglect. It points directly to a defective part of improper installation at Curry Honda. These failures occurred within months of a new transmission installation with no prior history of issues. I believe this is a safety defect as the vehicle broke down unexpectedly and had to be driven in a compromised condition posing a safety risk.

Hi - Thanks for your attention. I am reporting an issue that have been affected many Honda CR-V owners' safety: All Warnings Lights On Dash like Christmas tree, while driving slowly on private driveway on [XXX]. No particular reasons we could figure out: Only about 21,000 miles and < 3 years; no blocking of the sensors, good battery, no wire issue by eye inspection. Following some online suggestions, rebooted in Accessory Mode, not working; reconnected/disconnected battery, worked. However, it has been reported this issue will come back again in a short period, in an unexpected way, which poses significant safety issue. There are many online discussions, but Honda has not provided a solution for these severely defective vehicles, which surely has caused severe accidents and caused panic during HIGHWAY drive. Hope you could take some actions to protect the drivers' lives. HUGE Thanks. Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11724343

The brake warning light remains illuminated on the dashboard even when the parking brake is fully disengaged and while the vehicle is in motion. Same when the car is on or turned off. The brake warning light remain on continuously. Because this warning light is associated with the braking system, it creates uncertainty about whether the braking system and related safety systems are functioning properly while the vehicle is being driven. This raises safety concerns. The vehicle currently has approximately 50,000 miles and has been regularly maintained. The vehicle was inspected by a Honda dealership. After evaluation, the dealership indicated the issue may be related to the VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) modulator. However, they stated they cannot confirm with certainty that replacing this component will resolve the issue. This will be an expensive repair with no warranty that’s the issue. All other possible issues with pads brake system, wires…were discarded and no code showed on the initial test. Since this warning involves a critical safety system and the cause has not been clearly identified, I am concerned this may represent a potential defect or premature failure of a braking system component.

I am the second owner of this vehicle. Upon purchase, i chose to purchase all extended warranties so that I had minimal out of pocket costs to maintain and repair my vehicle. I had the vehicle maintained regularly at LaFontaine Honda in Dearborn. A couple days before my scheduled service in December 2025, several warning lights became lit on the dash. I called the LaFontaine Honda, expressed my concerns and asked if I could bring the vehicle in immediately. I brought the vehicle in on December 3, 2025, and after several hours of diagnostics, it was determined that the engine needed to be replaced. Vehicle mileage was 121,766 and I was informed that the warranty expired at 120,000. Tried to call Honda for assistance and they stated there was no assistance available, I would have to pay for the repairs. This Dealer serviced my vehicle the entire time that I owned it for 2 1/2 years. I purchased all extended warranties, and they would not help me. They only said they would put me in another vehicle put the negative equity in my new car loan. I was then ghosted by the service manager and sales manager. I had to go elsewhere and pay $8,595.76 for a used engine. I paid for the extended warranty and when I really needed it, Honda failed me.

Honda Dealership (Grainger Honda in [XXX]) replaced a steering neck on my 2020 Honda CRV at approximately 87,000 miles in XXX The vehicle was brought into the dealership in XXX with symptoms of loose steering, creaks/groans during turns/curves and the steering wheel was catching during turns/corners. The recommendation by Honda was to replace the struts, which was completed at another location. The symptoms became evident again in the summer of 2026 and in XXX was advised by Honda to replace the steering neck. The dealership had to order the part and advised that this was a safety issue, and the car should not be driven until repair completed. The replacement of the steering neck resolved the steering issues with the vehicle. . My family had been driving an unsafe vehicle since 2025? No warnings from vehicle system. The 2020 Honda CRV was not part of a recall; however 2023-2025 Honda CRVs had a recall for the same issue with steering neck and symptoms aligned with symptoms experienced with a 2020 model. I have filed a complaint with American Honda as the repairs cost over 5,000 and failure of this critical component is outside expectations for a vehicle of this age and mileage. Airbag / restraint failure

On November 9, 2022, I was making a left turn while I had a green light. A car coming from the left did not stop at the red light he had and t-boned my car on the driver side. My airbags deployed as they should. However, when I came to, I smelled smoke which was coming from the airbags. I touched my forehead and realized that something had cut my face. However, no glass from my car (windows, mirrors) was broken. I have no idea where the piece of glass came from but suspect it came from one of the airbags that deployed. While this was a small piece of glass (simply noted as an abrasion by the ER), I was not severely injured by it (however, I do have a scar from the incision). But I think this is worth investigating in case there is glass in other vehicle airbags that could more seriously injure someone. The vehicle was totaled by the insurance company and was sold at auction. I am sure it could be tracked down if necessary. Because the car was totaled, it is not able to be tested. The vehicle was inspected by Honda for repair estimates only. There were no warning notices or other symptoms of the problem prior to the accident air bag deployment which shot a small piece of glass and other debris into my face and the vehicle. The debris shot into the vehicle consists or small pieces of paper or fabric.

The vehicle jumped a curb and crashed into a tree which stopped the acceleration; the contact, who was in the passenger seat, was able to place the vehicle into neutral and shut off the engine. The contact stated that the airbags did not deploy upon impact. The police were called the scene and a police report was filed. The contact was able to drive the vehicle back home despite the severe front-end damage. The contact was also able to drive the vehicle to an independent body shop as several warning lights had appeared on the instrument panel which he linked to the accident. They remained in the possession of the body shop for repair. The contact and his wife sought medical treatment from a doctor where his wife was treated for a large lump on the back of her head and the contact was diagnosed for chest contusion after having a chest X-ray. The dealer was notified of the contact of the failure and was informed that they do not perform body repairs. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 11,500. Consumer stated the total repair cost of the car was $10,446.10.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

69 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11722740

While driving, multiple warning lights suddenly illuminated on the dashboard and the vehicle immediately began running sluggish with significantly reduced engine power. The vehicle was unable to maintain normal driving speed and was operating below the posted speed limit, creating a potential traffic hazard and increasing the risk of a rear-end collision from faster-moving vehicles. I was able to carefully drive the vehicle home, but the condition persisted. After arriving home, the vehicle required multiple attempts to start, indicating an ongoing issue. I scanned the vehicle using an OBD diagnostic tool and retrieved diagnostic trouble code P0087 (Fuel Rail/System Pressure Too Low), indicating a malfunction in the fuel delivery or fuel pressure system, which may involve the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, or related components. There were no prior warning signs before this incident; the warnings and loss of performance occurred suddenly while the vehicle was being driven under normal conditions. The sudden reduction in engine power created a safety concern due to the inability to maintain normal traffic speed. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, dealer, police, insurance representatives, or other third parties, but the vehicle and affected components are available for inspection upon request.

The fuel injector system failed or malfunctioned. This past Tuesday while going to merge onto the highway the car stalled and would not move beyond 40 mph which nearly led to a collision because I was unable to accelerate to merge with traffic flowing at a high speed. Immediately after this all of the dashboard warning indicatros came on. It was terrifying to say the least because we could have been in a serious auto accident. I was forced to pull into the break down lane and move along at a slow speed until I was able to navigate to a safe location. There were no lights or prior warnings leading up to the event to indicate there was a problem. I also had this same issue two years ago in 2024. Both times I have been told it is related to the fuel injectors and has cost me over $5,000 out of pocket to repair. This does not include having to find alternate transportation and missing work to have the car repaired. I spoke with the mechanic at Colonial Honda of Dartmouth,MA and asked if this was normal for a car to have the same issue with this part or to have it happen within such a short time frame and he said no that it was not common. Both times they have repaired the car.The car is currently running fine but I have fear that it will randomly happen again without warning and I may not be as fortunate to escape a collison.

The orange flashing rectangular "BRAKE" warning light on the dashboard display comes on intermittently and randomly while I am driving when there is NOTHING on the road or in front of the car warning me that the car will be braking itself. This has happened while driving 70 mph on the Interstate as well as on local roads going 30-40 mph and in all of these instances there has been nothing in the way of the car! No vehicles. No objects. Nothing. If I had not seen the warning light display on the dashboard and the automatic braking system would have stopped my car while driving 70 mph I could have been killed by a driver behind me on the road running into my car or by severe whiplash from stopping so fast unknowingly. I have reported this to my local Honda dealership where I bought the car (twice now in the last 10 months; once on 8/1/23 and again on 5/9/24). They said they have no knowledge of a potential recall even though I have told them I have read multiple articles in the past several months about a possible recall. I am taking my car to a local body shop to have it scanned to see if they can find anything wrong but the dealership refuses to check the codes as a courtesy free of charge. Honda has suggested I wash my car to clean the sensors of debris which I do very often and the issue just keeps happening. Thank you.

In XXX I began experiencing a sticking/notching sensation in the steering wheel. Because this involves the steering system and therefore raises an obvious safety concern, we contacted Honda Customer Service and opened Case #XXX. Honda Customer Service instructed us to take the vehicle to an authorized Honda dealer for evaluation. We took the vehicle to Fred Anderson Honda in Greenville, South Carolina where the steering problem was inspected, verified and documented. They determined it was a sticking gear box. During our research, we became aware of NHTSA Safety Recall 24V-744, which involves a steering gearbox problem on certain Honda and Acura vehicles, including certain 2023–2025 CR-V and CR-V Hybrid vehicles. Additionally, there are reported cases with other 2020 Honda CR-V along with previous years. The sticking/notching has gotten worse since being noticed. Which has caused oversteering that could resulting in an accident. Honda wants to charge $5,817 to install a new steering rack. We requested a Full Goodwill Assistance to fix the issues. They offered to pay $1,620 of the amount leaving us with the balance. We believe the problem is a manufacturing defect and should be recalled. There were no warning lights or messages. Only symptom was the sticking/notching sensation. Your help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

In March/April 2020 I was driving at 65 miles per hour on a rural highway. The only vehicles on the road were my car, the pickup in front of me and the pickup behind me. Since the highway was so quiet, I decided to try Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). I set it for 65 miles per hour (the speed limit). We had been driving for about 15 minutes, each car maintaining the same speed and distance. The pickup in front of me turned on his turn signal for a right turn and entered the right turn lane. As my car approached the pickup, in the turn lane, the automatic braking system activated. I lunged forward, the seat belt activated, braking warning was displayed on screen and there was an audible alarm. I managed to take control of the vehicle and to accelerate. I was afraid the vehicle behind me would collide with me. I turned off ACC and tried to regain my composure. When the pickup moved into the right hand lane, there was nothing in front of me as far as the eye could see; just open highway. I will never use ACC again. Yesterday, December 19, I was driving on a side street. I had just exited a school zone, speed limit 15, and my speed was now approximately 22, no vehicles in front of me just some cars parked at the curb ahead to my right. There was an audible tone and the word BRAKE displayed on the screen. The brakes did not activate.

I am experiencing intermittent loss of motive power. Without warning at highway speeds I get a flashing check engine light immediately before the loss of motive power occurs. Motive power can be restored by turning the ignition off and back on. However, this action also clears the check engine light and any fault codes that were set. I drive with a code reader in the car and have received a P0302 code. This has happened at least five times since May 2024. It is available for inspection. I have brought it into a Honda dealership for repairs, they have changed the fuel injectors and pistons and it is still occurring. I was told this time that they did not know what was wrong so they could not repair anything. The safety of myself, my husband, and my seven month old daughter was out at risk as it occurs when traveling over 55 miles/hour and we lose power. We have to try and navigate to the side of the road to turn on and off the car. This problem was reproduced by a dealer this last time it went into the shop and it is there currently. The vehicle has only been inspected by Keeler Honda in Latham, New York. There were no other warnings prior to this failure. It has occurred multiple times, May 2024, November 2024, Feb 2025, March 2026 I have a video of what happens but I cannot upload it. This is exactly what is happening in NHTSA Action Number: PE25016

ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11394304

Crankcase fuel/oil dilution problem on Honda 1.5L direct fuel injected, turbo engine. Upon the first oil change on our 2020 Honda CR-V exl at about 6300 miles we found the oil level in the crankcase to be overfull by approximately 1 pint. The oil smelled faintly of gasoline and appeared thinner than normal. See attached picture. We live in a town of 22,000. Most trips around town are 2 miles each way at most, which according to Honda is part of the problem as the engine does not run at normal operating temperature long enough to evaporate fuel in the crankcase. We do take occasional trips of an hour or more each direction. Honda says this problem is made worse by cold climates, however, our winter where we live had been very mild compared to most winters when our oil was changed. Most days the outside air temp had been in the 30'S to low 40'S. I've been told by my Honda dealer's service manager this is a common problem and Honda has no fix for this problem. I am concerned about having proper oil viscosity. If the oil level in our Honda engine crankcase was a pint over full, that would be equivalent to a 13% fuel content since the engine only holds 3.7 quarts of oil. That seems excessive and viscosity has to suffer allowing excessive engine wear. Honda says it will be fine. I have written to Honda corp. About this problem and have not received a reply.

Hi pressure fuel pump stopped working while driving. My mechanic gave me the defective part in case someone wanted to inspect it. At the time of failure, the car suddenly entered "limp" mode and fortunately I was able to pull over to the side. When I tried to get moving, the engine jerked and sputtered to a maximum speed of about 15 mph. All the lights on the dashboard lit up and flashed. Warnings for many different types of problems displayed, but nothing specific about the fuel pump. There were no warnings previous to the sudden part failure. On the phone, my mechanic immediately told me that it was likely a well-known problem with Honda CRV's. He'd repaired other CRVs with the same problem. A Honda agent told me on the phone "yes" this is a common problem. However she said my CRV is not within the range of VIN numbers under recall. Therefore, I am not eligible for reimbursement at this time. That Honda Agent told me to submit my problem through the NHTSA website and then keep checking to see if my VIN number is eventually within the numbers. Once that is the case I will be reimbursed. I had my trusted mechanic make the repair, per Honda's direction (they said since I'm far away from a dealership and the car is driveable, just have it repaired by my mobile mechanic). Since the repair was completed, it is working fine although I now average 3 mpg less than before the repair.

The contact owned a 2020 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 MPH and crossing an intersection to enter a school parking lot, the contact did not see that a vehicle had merged into the opposite lane heading straight across the intersection into the path of the contact. The contact stated that she crashed into the driver's side door. The contact's vehicle spun 180 degrees and remained in the lane she was driving in. The contact stated that the air bags did not deploy. The contact stated that the front end of her hood, and grill were crushed by the impact up to the front right and left tire wheel wells. The contact struck her head on the steering wheel but had no physical injuries. The contact was not sure of the disposition of the other vehicle. The police arrived on the scene and issued the contact a traffic violation for failing to yield at the intersection. The contact was attended by an EMS team and was offered to be taken to the ER. ENGINE

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11733780

For the last two years, our CR-V has had random engine failures where the car will lose power and the ability to accelerate. If you're going uphill it will stop entirely, otherwise you can usually limp along at about 20mph. We've taken the car in to the Honda dealer multiple times with no fix. We've had to abandon the car since Honda won't fix it and it's a complete safety hazard. The final incident happened while I was driving in a tunnel in a 60mph zone. The car died and I had nowhere to pull off so I was forced to slowly crawl through the tunnel as cars flew by me going 70mph. I was finally able to get out of the tunnel and pull over in a remotely safe place. Once you turn the car off, the system resets and you can drive again until the issue happens again. Honda diagnosed the issue, reproduced and confirmed the issue and, despite having an 8-year full warranty we bought when we bought the car new, they refused to fix it stating that they simply aren't able to. Their recommendation was to take the car and monitor the issue, despite confirming the extreme danger the car poses to us. We've asked them to replace the car with anything of similar value that won't be a safety threat, or buy the car back since we can't drive it. It's been sitting at the dealership for the last month and a half. We've now been forced to hire an attorney to help resolve this since Honda is refusing to take accountability for selling a completely unsafe vehicle.

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11765263

At 29,100 miles on the odometer I started noticing a little difference in the steering, especially at low speeds. There were no dashboard warning messages. I took it to a local Honda Service Center (Vatland Honda) and they diagnosed the problem as "Electric steering rack internal failure" and an estimated repair cost approaching 6,000 after taxes and fees. They said there's no way to predict if or when the power steering would completely fail, but it could be a sudden event. I left with the impression that even total steering failure was a possibility. Because of the high cost estimate, I took it to a second Service Center (Coggin Honda) for an estimate. They checked the car and came to the same conclusion as the first Service Center. However, their cost of repair was lower (5,375 including tax), and I had them repair the car yesterday (9/17/26). I had also contacted Honda America and asked if they would agree to cover this repair under warranty even though I'm beyond the warranty time period. I felt there must have been a manufacturing defect to have a failure of this type at such low mileage. They reviewed my request and agreed to pay 80% of the repair cost. I'm grateful that Honda America has covered most of the cost, but I'm filing this report because I've read on some online forums that other 2020 Honda CRV owners have had a similar problem. If this is more than just an isolated event, I feel a recall may be warranted for this car part.

On April 13, 20026 while traveling on a divided highway at about 70 mph, the car suddenly experienced rapid de-acceleration, similar to if someone slammed on the brakes. At the same time all dashboard warning lights began flashing. The car had failed and couldn't be driven. The Honda dealer in Rochester Minnesota said the turbocharger had failed. This was a very dangerous situation as it posed a real risk of being hit from behind by others who were still travelling at high speed while the failed car was dramatically slowing and trying to get off the road. This an unreasonable risk of injury and death not only to the driver and occupants but also to the general public and other nearby drivers and occupants. The Honda dealer in Rochester inspected and repaired the failed turbocharger and flushed the system and oil as required. The charge was $5,042.41 to replace the turbocharger and $736.48 to flush and change with fresh oil. This is without tax. Full invoice is available upon request. The Honda dealer inspected the car. No police report was filed. The car was towed back into Rochester by AAA. There was no warning lamps prior to the incident. The cars maintenance was up-to-date and has only about 60,00 miles. For a [XXX] old car, an engine failure that creates a serious risk of injury or death to the driver and public would suggest a recall is necessary to maintain public safety and make owner's whole. On August 15, 2024, around noon, I was stopped at a red light waiting for the light to turn green. When it finally did, I released my foot from the brake pedal and proceeded to accelerate. Not even 2 seconds later, I heard a beeping sound (from collision mitigation system) and my car abruptly stopped. There was no car in front of me and the car behind me was 2 car distances away. My car abruptly stopped on its own with no obstruction in sight in front or behind. I am very concerned to say the least and now feel unsafe driving my car especially since I drive my children around all the time. The automatic braking system/collision mitigation braking system on my 2020 Honda CRV, although meant to increase safety seems to do the exact opposite. I did some research and learned how to turned the collision mitigation braking system off. I trust my fight or flight response more than this automatic braking system. It seems this is more likely to cause an accident. My vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer for this matter, however, I do plan on scheduling a service appointment to ensure the ABS system is working properly. The vehicle only has 38000 miles and has been driving smoothly, no warning messages or vehicle problems that I am aware of. As a public health professional, I feel it is my duty to report this safety concern. This system seems so faulty and dangerous. Please please please investigate this matter, it's so scary. Sincerely, a public health advocate, wife, and mom of 2. Thank you

My wife and family left Evans, Georgia, on 06-Apr-2023 for their first cruise that departed from Miami, Florida. As they traveled down the interstate on 07-Apr-2023, the cruise date, the vehicle's right brake came off. My daughter steered the CR-V to safety without causing a major accident on a major Interstate Highway. They contacted the local Honda, Brickell Honda, 690 S. W. 8th Street, Miami, Florida, who dispatched a tow truck. The Service Representative was [XXX]. She asked whether the brakes had been worked on before; they had never since purchased the CR-V. Also, she confirmed that the damage was not due to road debris. Brickell Honda repaired the CR-V for $1151.31. The communication with Brickell Honda was good while the CR-V was in the shop. However, when we tried to reach out to the Service Advisor after the repairs were completed, it differed from Honda's standards. She failed to respond to our calls, voicemail, and text message. On 23 Apr 2023, I decided to have my local Honda, Gerald Jones Honda, 4022 Washington Road, Martinez, GA, review the work completed by Brickell Honda. They did not know why the brakes would have came-off, but they noticed the right rear brake line tangled up and the bolt left loose. These were things that Brickell Honda left undone, putting my family at risk! According to Gerald Jones Honda, fixing those things would cost an additional $175.00. We paid $201.25 for Gerald Jones Honda Diagnostic. “INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).”

ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

70 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11729973

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The fuel delivery system and engine power management. The vehicle suffers from sudden "Limp Mode" activation and total loss of acceleration. The vehicle is available for inspection. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? My safety was severely compromised when the vehicle suddenly lost power while traveling at highway speeds. This occurred twice in high-speed traffic, creating an immediate risk of a rear-end collision as the vehicle could no longer maintain the flow of traffic or accelerate away from danger. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No. The issue was reported to a dealer in 2024, but because the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) turned off after a restart, the dealer was unable to reproduce the failure or find stored error codes at that time. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Yes, it was inspected by an authorized Honda dealer in 2024, but no repairs or actions were taken as they could not replicate the fault. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No. There were no prior symptoms or early warnings. In both incidents (2024 and yesterday), the engine light illuminated simultaneously with a sudden, localized loss of speed and a total inability to power up or accelerate while on the highway.

I am filing a complaint against Honda regarding the infotainment system in my Honda CR-V. When I connect an Android device, the system crashes consistently. Despite informing Honda of this issue, their response has been dismissive. They stated, “We tested it with an iPhone and found no problems,” completely disregarding the issue with Android devices. Safety Concern: The infotainment system freezing when an Android device is connected poses a significant safety issue. Functional infotainment is crucial for navigation, hands-free communication, and other essential functions while driving. Frequent crashes disrupt these functionalities, potentially leading to distracted driving and increased risk of accidents. Honda’s failure to address this problem compromises driver and passenger safety. Misleading Advertising: Honda advertises that their infotainment system works with Android devices, which is not my experience. This misleading advertising is deceptive and unfair to consumers. Warranty Information: My vehicle is under a certified warranty, yet Honda has failed to provide the necessary support and repairs to resolve the issue. Desired Resolution: I seek a thorough investigation by the FTC into Honda’s misleading advertising and failure to address legitimate safety concerns with their infotainment system. I also request that Honda be required to fix my vehicle so that the infotainment system works reliably with Android devices. Additionally, Honda should formally acknowledge the problem and improve their customer support and product testing procedures.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Hello on or about April [XXX] I was driving my Honda CRV on the freeway. all of a sudden I felt the car sputter. It went down to 25 miles an hour. I pulled over and shut the car off. A couple hours later. Oh my dashboard lights went on. One after another, I called Honda and got the service department voicemail.. Then I called my mechanic and he suggested I reboot the computer Which I did. The next day it did the same thing. I called Honda again the same thing voicemail. I called my mechanic and he suggested that I bring it in to be diagnosed.. He said it was the fuel injectors. And suggested I get a hold of Honda. I made a 3rd call ,same thing voicemail. Finally five days later after emailing the service department manager. I finally got a phone call back. I basically was told there’s nothing they can do for me. The quote for the car was $600 more than my mechanic. So my mechanic fixed it. Two weeks later, the service manager called me and told me it was covered under warranty. But I had already had the car fixed. Brad Haag from Honda of Middleburg Heights told me to send my receipt to iHonda corporate, and they said they could not help me. After doing some research on the Internet this seems to be a very common problem with Honda CRV’s. I truly believe this is a safety issue. I could’ve been killed that day.. I bought this car for its safety and reliability. I believe these cars are not safe to be on the road with fuel injectors that just fail without warning. Thank you. VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

67 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11715938

The same issue has happened twice. I'm driving on the highway, going maybe 60 or 65, and with no warning, the check engine light starts flashing and the car won't respond to the gas pedal. The car immediately starts to rapidly decelerate, and I can only try to get to the breakdown lane before I get rear-ended. I've been lucky (especially since my child was in the backseat both times). But when I stop the car, turn it off, then turn it on again, everything is fine. I can get back on the highway, and no problems occur. The codes are not stored, however, so I can't know what caused the problem. When this happened the first time (last year), I took it to the Honda dealer where I bought it, and they said they had never heard of this happening. When it happened the second time in January, I called Honda, spoke to an agent who gave me a case number (XXX), and said she has heard of something like this from other drivers, but the solutions were all different, so she couldn't say what would fix it for me. I did some internet research, and found other drivers who describe the exact same issue: [XXX] I've switched to premium gasoline ($$) and won't let it get lower than 1/4 full, and have an OBDII scanner in my glove compartment ready to go if it happens again. That said, this is a very dangerous defect, and I feel unsafe in my car. I am disturbed that a problem of with such potentially serious consequences has no solution that anyone can offer me. (Note: When I go to submit this, the final form leaves off the last # of the VIN. I tried to correct, but it happened again. The VIN is [XXX] , 2020 Honda CRV Hybrid. Best VIN ever.) TIRES

22 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11459727

In September of 2020 I purchased a brand new 2020 Honda CR-V Touring with 235/55R19 CrossContact LX Sport M+S tires. On April 3, 2022 I was on a trip away (several hundred miles) from home when my 17 year old daughter (who drives the CR-V) contacted me about one tire that was low on air. She sent me a photo. I informed her to put air in the tire to see if it continued to leak and I would fix it when I got home. Taking initiative, she asked me if she could fix it while I was away. I gave her inspection instructions. She carefully inspected the tire and found no outside defects such as screw/nail/puncture foreign material. Since the leak was very slow, she filled the tire with air and safely drove the car to Firestone Tire at 395 Eisenhower Dr, Hanover, PA 17331. Once she got there the tire technician attempted to find the leak. He was unable to find any outside defect or leak and continued by removing the tire from the rim. I then got a phone call from my daughter who had the technician on speakerphone. He described the issue to me as a tire manufacturing defect that he has never seen before. My daughter then texted me photos of the issue. The defect is easily seen on the inside molded lines in the sidewall. It is where the bead rolls into the sidewall. In the molded lines there are areas where the lines are interrupted/missing and with what appears to be several small holes in the rubber. Firestone could not advise how to proceed. The tire was remounted. The technician put a little extra tire sealant on the bead. She then drove the vehicle home. I have since also read the these tires, of other sizes, have had a vulcanizing problem. My tire clearly has this issue and Continental needs to update their recall list to include these as well.

Fuel system failure

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

64 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11708651

At approximately 75,000 miles, my 2020 Honda CR-V began experiencing serious engine performance issues, including jerking, hesitation, and rough operation while driving. The check engine warning light began flashing, indicating an active engine misfire. During these events, the vehicle’s acceleration and engine response became unpredictable. Only traveling at 5 mph. The ignition coils and spark plugs were replaced, and then replaced again, by an independent mechanic. After the most recent repair, the vehicle was test driven and the issue persisted. A diagnostic scan shows the engine is running rich, which mechanics stated points to a fuel injector malfunction. Based on diagnostic results, repeated test drives, and elimination of ignition components as the cause, the fuel injector system is the component believed to have failed. This malfunction poses a safety risk because a misfiring engine can cause sudden loss of power, hesitation during acceleration, and unpredictable vehicle behavior, especially during merging, passing, or driving in traffic. The issue has been reproduced and reviewed by multiple mechanics, who reached the same conclusion regarding a fuel injector related failure. Prior to and during the failure, the vehicle exhibited jerking, hesitation, rough operation, and a flashing check engine light. These symptoms have continued despite repairs. The fuel injector failure is the subject of an active recall affecting this make, model, and year, however my VIN is not included in the recall. Despite this exclusion, my vehicle is exhibiting the same symptoms, misfire behavior, and diagnostic indicators addressed by the recall. The exact reason my VIN is excluded from the recall is unknown, but the evidence indicates a fuel injector related defect affecting safe operation of the vehicle.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

When driving at high speed on the highway, I have had instances of both FCW and/or AEB activating when there was no vehicle in front of me. This tends to happen without known cause and while I take the same route every day on my commute, the issue does not always occur. When FCW initiates with a large flashing BRAKE warning on the dash and loud beeping while at highway speeds, I am startled and second guess myself that I am not seeing something I am about to impact with. This creates confusion and can lead to making a maneuver or my braking in error which can cause a crash. This issue has occured numerous times and in speaking with other owners of the same vehicle, they have witnessed the same issue. I have also had AEB initiate at least twice while at highway speeds when there was no vehicle in front of me. This is the most frightening and dangerous issue that I've experienced in any vehicle I have driven. As with the above issue with FCW, there seems to be no way to reproduce the issue and it happens at random. While at highway speeds after receiving the FCW BRAKE warning, my vehicle instantaneously began emergency braking with no vehicle in front of me. This issue is unacceptable and can cause a serious crash on the highway. I speculate that these issues both may be caused by overhead highway signs or bridges but does not seem to occur in error consistently, even when driving the same route. I worry that these issues will cause myself or my family to be seriously injured due to failing safety technology and I have considered disabling these features in my vehicle. These issues have not been inspected nor verified independently as I have felt the issue is unresolvable based on feedback I have heard. At this point I consider myself lucky for not having been in a crash due to these systems failing.

My car, a 2020 Honda CR-V EX 1.5T AWD, was totaled in a fatal accident on a rainy night on an interstate highway. It spun on the highway a couple of turns, hit the highway barrier at all of its corners and sides, caused the airbags to all came out, and eventually deadly stopped in the middle of the highway on a rainy night. My wife and I were in our undrivable vehicle, watching countless coming vehicles approaching us rapidly. We were just waiting in the dead car unmovable, just as in a coffin for our fate to come but can do nothing. Thank GOD who made someone call 911. Thanks to the emergency rescue team. The ambulance sent us to a nearby local hospital. We bought the vehicle, the 2020 Honda CR-V EX 1.5T AWD, as new, and we realized there could be a problem at a very earlier time. It has a serious problem with its AWD control system. The rear wheels are always engaged in all road conditions, as it is displayed on the instrument panel. This causes the two symptoms of the car, (1) the MPG (miles-per-gallon) is extremely lower than the standard 34 MPG on the highway. It is only 23 to 25 MPG because it always consumes about 32 to 36 gallons of gasoline on a trip of 810 miles distance (85% on interstate highways). (2) the rear tires are worn out extremely fast. It wore 86% of the usage range at 22,000 miles usage, which is about 2 to 3 times quicker than tires on other cars on average. We visited the Honda dealer in Troy, Michigan for the tire problems on May 9, 2022, which is about five months before the severe accident. The Honda dealer refused to give any compensation for changing new tires. The car is just over 25,000 mileage (see [XXX] ). They changed only 2 new tires in the front and put the old front tires on the rear wheels. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Steering failure

STEERING

57 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11658777

Subject: Recurring Steering Issue in Honda CR-V – Potential Inclusion in Recall In early 2023, we began experiencing a steering issue with our Honda CR-V. The steering would intermittently feel sticky or resistant, particularly at higher speeds and when navigating curves or corners. Over time, this issue was accompanied by a clicking noise. We took the vehicle to our local Honda dealership; however, they were unable to replicate the problem at that time. As the issue progressed, the vehicle became increasingly unsafe to drive. Eventually, the dealership acknowledged the problem and replaced the power steering rack under the manufacturer’s warranty. Approximately 18 months later, the same symptoms have reappeared: sticky steering at higher speeds, clicking noises, and an overall unsafe steering feel. Once again, the dealership has been unable to replicate the issue and has advised us to return when the problem becomes more consistent, which is concerning and unsafe. Upon researching, we discovered that Honda issued a recall (NHTSA Campaign#: 24V744000) affecting 1.7 million vehicles, including certain 2023–2025 CR-V models, due to a steering gearbox defect that can cause excessive internal friction and difficulty steering . While our vehicle’s model year is not currently included in this recall, the symptoms we are experiencing seem similar to those described. Request: We urge the NHTSA to investigate whether earlier model years of the Honda CR-V may also be affected by this steering defect. The recurrence of this issue, despite previous repairs, raises significant safety concerns. We believe our vehicle may warrant inclusion in the existing recall or prompt a separate investigation into similar steering-related safety issues in earlier CR-V models. Or at minimum help us resolve this continuous issue as we feel unsafe to drive our vehicle.

On Sep 19, 2023 at about 6:10pm I got into my car at the CVS parking lot to drive home. As I reared back to get out of my parking spot, I heard a loud sound as if I had hit something on the passenger side and I returned my car to the initial spot to get out of the car and check what had happened. When I put the car into parking and tried to stop the engine, the car refused to stop. My foot was on the break, I was trying to turn off the engine but the car accelerated, went forward, then backwards, and kept going back and forth in all directions without me being able to control it. At the end it headed on the road when finally another car hit my car and this caused the car to stop. When the car stopped, it was still on Park and I was then able to turn it off. This happened in the evening. In the morning when I was going to work, as I entered my garage I tried to turn off the radio because there was no reception but I was not able to turn off the radio or to lower the volume. At that time I did not think it was an issue but in retrospect, I think the two incidents might be connected. At the end of July 2023 (about a month and a half before the accident) I started getting multiple warning signals on the dashboard and then I took my car to Honda Dealership who fixed the electronics for $850 and the car was returned to me. I have a police report # 2023-09190211 with witnesses for the accident on 9/19/2023 and the Honda Dealership should have detailed records from their work because it was quite recent. It is a miracle that there were no injured people as a result of this accident. It was extremely scary and horrible to be in a car that cannot be controlled. This has to be investigated and measures should be taken to prevent this from happening to others. I have not received yet the assessment from the insurance and I can provide more details when they share their findings.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

I request a $2,935.58 reimbursement from Honda for a catastrophic manufacturing defect on my 2020 CR-V (78,248 miles). This includes a $2,105.58 dealer repair bill and an $830.00 emergency highway tow bill. Honda Corporate denied goodwill solely on mileage, ignoring proof of an internal component defect.THE FAILURE & SAFETY RISK: While driving on a highway, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion and entered a dangerous "limp mode" in active traffic. This immediate safety hazard forced an emergency $830 flatbed tow directly to an authorized Honda dealership.CERTIFIED DEALER DIAGNOSIS: Factory technicians diagnosed the failure at 78,248 miles. The itemized invoice documents Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0087 (Fuel Rail Pressure Too Low). Physical testing confirmed the high-pressure fuel pump suffered a total internal mechanical collapse, outputting a baseline of only 300 PSI instead of the required 2,000+ PSI. The dealer verified the failure was entirely internal.EXTREME PRICE MARKUPS: To remain mobile, I paid $2,100.00 out of pocket. The dealership charged $996.91 for the part (MSRP is ~$530) and $971.52 for labor for a highly accessible part that requires only 1.2 to 1.5 factory book hours. This is an unreasonable financial penalty for a defective part.FLAWLESS MAINTENANCE: Direct-injection high-pressure pumps rely on clean oil for lubrication. I have meticulously serviced this vehicle with professional oil changes and check-ups every 5 months without exception. My records prove zero oil dilution or neglect. The collapse was structural, not operational.KNOWN DEFECT PATTERNS: Honda has issued major safety recalls (like NHTSA Campaign 24V-763000) for internal structural cracking and sudden pressure drops within their high-pressure fuel pump assemblies on identical engine families. My pump failed in the exact same manner.REMEDY SOUGHT: Order Honda to reimburse the full $2,935.58 for the repair and tow bills. All receipts are attached.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11423031

There is a wiring harness for automatic mirror dimming that runs out of the front headliner to the back of the rear-view mirror (P/N32155-TLA-A31 32119) that seems to be without sufficient strain relief inside the mirror. On 5/9/2021, I started my CR-V only to have multiple system failure warnings scrolling across the dash. On 5/10/2021, I took the vehicle to the dealership. They found a blown fuse (P/N 38221-SNA-A41) but were not able to determine why it blew. On 5/25/2021, the same problem reoccurred. I took the vehicle that day to the dealership. The only difference was that (at least as I knew at the time) was that both failures happened after I used the remote start function. On 5/26/2021, after many attempts to duplicate the problem using remote start, the dealership contacted me saying they needed to do more troubleshooting. On 5/27/2021, The dealership contacted me saying they had determined the problem was a short in the above-mentioned harness and asked if I had hung anything on it. I mentioned that I occasionally hung my Handicap Placard (net weight 0.7 ounces) on it, but it would also be bumped by the windshield sunshade I use. The service advisor said that the repairs were not covered under the warranty since it was something I did, and not the fault of the vehicle. I asked the dealership to provide me with the damaged harness for my inspection, and the service advisor agreed to that. When the vehicle was returned to me on 6/4/2021, the harness was not in the vehicle, nor, according to the service advisor, in the building. I am an engineer with years of experience in cabling and harnesses, I wanted to see the damage for myself, as well as what physical harness strain relief accommodations were made for it. When the second incident happened, we were near home, and the dealership. It could have happened a week later when we were on our vacation and driving through the middle of the wheat fields of Kansas - stranded.

I was attempting to park in front of a medical professional building with my foot on the brake slowly rolling between the parking lines when the car experienced sudden unintended acceleration. Although I realized the car was accelerating and lurching forward, the brake was not stopping the vehicle. The car jumped the parking curb and crashed into the building causing damage to both the exterior and interior wall of the doctor's waiting room. While neither myself, my passenger, nor any patients in the waiting room were injured, someone could have been. The air bags did not deploy, and the Collision Mitigation system did not engage preventing the collision. Damage to the vehicle consisted of mostly front bumper and grill damage. When I called the local Honda dealership service department asking if I should have them evaluate the car before having body work completed, I was told that the dealership does not accept damaged cars until the body work has been completed. Consequently, I had the car towed to a body shop even though it was technically drivable. I did not feel safe driving the vehicle fearing it would suddenly accelerate again. I reported the incident to the Honda corporate office and a case was opened. I was again told that damage to the car had to be repaired by the body shop before the car would be evaluated by Honda. When the body shop completed the repairs, I had the car towed to the local Honda dealership for evaluation. I specifically requested that the Event Data Recorder be evaluated, but I received conflicting answers when I asked if it had been accessed during the inspection. I was told that the Honda District Representative reviewed the data from the inspection and invoice states, "no defects in materials or factory workmanship were found (NAME of tech) inspected and found no issues, relayed information to Honda and they advised the vehicle is ok to drive at this time". The vehicle was released back to me, but I refuse to drive it.

This was my first explanation of my cars defect when submitting a claim to Honda through the NCDS. Good morning, I have had trouble with Apple Car Play since I purchased my new vehicle. I called the dealership in November and asked how to fix it. They suggested to try an apple USB/IPhone charger so I tried varies different USB cords and got them to work for awhile. In Jan. 2021 my Apple Car Play just stopped working all together. I would plug in my phone and the car would tell me that this function is not available. Then when I did occasionally get it to work, about 5 minutes into my drive. My touch screen monitor would turn completely black and I wouldn’t be able to use any other functions, even after turning my car off and back on, the screen would remain black until the next time I drove it. It works for a short period of time after doing a factory reset but only for about 12 hours, then it either turns black or the message “this function is unavailable” pops up and my device isn’t detected. I can’t even use the iPod function just to play music, it’s like it doesn’t recognize my phone, yet it will charge my phone. It just won’t recognize anything else. I have brought it into the dealer 6 times regarding this issue before the last two attempts to fix it, I even called apple support as recommended by the dealership. They were aware of the issue and told me to wait until the next update for it to be fixed. So I did... and it still didn’t work. That’s when I went in two more times and no one can seem to figure out what’s wrong. Thank you for your time, I hope we can resolve this issue soon. Have a great day! Cassie I had sent in multiple documents and a testimony explaining my cars defect and due to that defect the loss of use, value and safety to the vehicle. My request to fix this defect was denied. My case manager then notified me to move forward with my case and file a claim through the Minnesota Lemon Law and they recommend also submitting a claim to NHTSA

Airbag / restraint failure

AIR BAGS

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11477844

The passenger side airbag sensor is not working properly. There is a light that goes on and says "passenger airbag off" when a passenger under 65lbs is in the seat. The passenger side airbag in this car is being deactivated when there are passengers that weight 95-150lbs sitting in the seat. The passengers are always buckled and the car is driving forward between 10-65 mph. I filed a complaint with Honda and have brought it to 2 different dealerships. One dealership replaced the sensors but the issue continues to occur. I was told by Simon from Honda Corporation that I needed to bring it in when the problem was occurring, so I did. That dealership weighed several people on a scale and in the passenger seat with a computer hooked up to the car. The weight the seat was sensing was off by about 40lbs. The sensors was "recalibrated". After they were "recalibrated" the weight was still off by 20-30lbs when we weighed a person by scale and then compared it to the weight that the seat was sensing. I was told that there was nothing else they can do, that it was a 2 sensor system and that is the "best they can do". The dealership reported back to Honda that the system was "working without issues" despite it still being significantly off after calibration. I requested a regional engineer to examine my car and was denied by Simon. I requested to speak with a supervisor and was denied by Simon. I have multiple videos showing this malfunction and the discrepancies in weight. I offered to send them to Honda and Simon refused to accept them. The sensors clearly aren't weighing the passengers properly and disabling the passenger airbag inappropriately. This is a SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE! I am certain there are other CRV's with the same issue because the dealership hooked another CRV up to a computer and compared sensed weights vs actual weights right in front of me and that CRV seat sensor was off by 10-15lbs. I am concerned!! My car has had NO accidents/front damage.

On the evening of [XXX], I started my vehicle while it was parked in my garage. Within approximately five minutes, the vehicle suddenly produced a violent and unusually loud mechanical noise, followed by visible smoke billowing from beneath the hood. Recognizing the immediate potential fire and safety hazard to both myself and my property, I immediately shut the vehicle down. The following morning, I took directly to Honda North, an authorized Honda dealership in Clovis, California, for a professional diagnostic inspection. The dealership's certified inspection determined that the A/C compressor had suffered a catastrophic internal mechanical failure and had completely seized. According to the dealership, the compressor's internal failure while the system was operating resulted in metallic debris being circulated throughout and contaminating the A/C system. This catastrophic seizure heavily strained the engine's drive belt system. The failure was a direct result of the factory compressor shaft seal leaking out all system refrigerant and lubricating oil, causing the unit to run dry and seize. As a result, the dealership determined that replacing only the failed compressor would not be sufficient to properly restore the system. The recommended repair requires a complete A/C system overhaul, including replacement of the compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and associated refrigerant lines/components. Honda has openly acknowledged this exact factory defect in Service Bulletin 23-040, extending the shaft seal warranty to 10 years. However, Honda Corporate Customer Service is refusing responsibility for the downstream consequential destruction caused by their own defective component, citing only general vehicle age and mileage, despite the vehicle having 55,782 miles and sitting well within the 10-year extended warranty window. They have refused to provide an engineering justification or written analysis for this safety-related coverage denial. INFORMATION REDACTED PUR
