On 10/15/19 I was returning my vehicle to lustine Chrysler Jeep Dodge in woodbridge, va for engine knocking and transmission thumping when (I'm pretty sure I hit a bump on the highway) and the whole electronic dashboard flicker very fast and the vehicle accelerated on its own. I arrived at the dealership, they verified a malfunction code and sent me home to return another day because they didn't have any loaner vehicle to give me. I have loud engine knocking, thumping transmission and the AC blower didn't work October 1, 2019.

The driverside headrest has spontaneously deployed, it is due to an internal failure where a plastic retention bracket cracks. It is a known issue for earlier model years, but 2019 has been left out of the warranty extension (2018 is the end of the current coverage period). This is the same headrest design/part that is covered for repair in earlier years, and is an $1,100 replacement. We would like this repair to be considered for the warranty coverage as it is the same issue being acknowleged and addressed for earlier model years.

I have spent about an hour total on 2 phone calls to only be told there is nothing they can do about it.This is clearly a manufacturing defect and a common problem with Dodge Durango's, bcause I see too many with the same problem that I have and its always the center of the lift gate and the right side tail light. I was driving my vehicle and the engine light came on and the car started overheating. I had to immediately pull over. There was fluid underneath my Vehicle again. This occurred twice in 6 months. The engine coolant lines have a whole in them. This is the 2nd repair for the same issue in 6 months. The Vehicle has been sitting for over 3 weeks at dodge. They have not answered or responded to our claims. The Vehicle poses a safety risk as it instantly overheats and you lose power. The coolant lines under the Vehicle are not secured at all and rub against other parts under the vehicle.

Started receiving an auto start error message on the dash. Then after long drives vehicle would not start up without a jump. Went to test battery and it failed while connected to vehicle. I bought a new battery, I installed it, and then tested it and failed the test. I then checked the old battery (not connected) and it past. Which means there a parasitic battery drain. I then changed the engine off and the headlight delay settings to 0, and tested the connected battery and it passed. So the delay settings for the engine off and headlight delay is causing a parasitic battery drain in the 2019 dodge durango.

My car has 7000 miles on it and the brake light is stuck on thanks to a faulty reading in the ABS system. This also causes the car to think someone is in the car because the brake pedal is being pressed. It is illegal to operate a car without the brake lights working properly not to mention unsafe. My car has been setting in the driveway for over 3 months and Chrysler is in no hurry to repair it. The ABS module part has a superseded part number so they obviously have addressed the faulty part. I paid a lot for a car that has become a driveway accessory. How long can they drag their feet? They are losing repeat customers.

After dropping off my oldest daughter at preschool, I drove for roughly 2.5 miles and parked the car, I suffered a total loss of power steering. The truck has a completely Electric steering system. This occurred 10/31/2019. On this date I took the vehicle to the local dealership for diag. They called 11/1/2019 and stated that it needed a new steering rack. It is now 11/19/2019 and the part is still on back order. Chrysler keeps pushing the date back. I still do not have the vehicle back and not definitive date of return. If this would've happened with my daughters in the car while driving down the road it would've caused a serious crash.

In order to get vehicle under control brakes were applied to maximum and vehicle was shifted into neutral which caused engine to throttle higher but driver was able to turn off vehicle and safely come to a stop. After restarting vehicle throttle reurned to normal functioning. I was lucky there were no other vehicles around or a wreck would have happened. I do not know if this related to recall 22V426000. `Dodge dealeership advised that there currenlly is no fix for this recall. Last year I notice water in my tail lights. I removed the bolt to help drain the water. Part of my tail lights is now burned out. Now at 77,000+ my start/stop light came on, then the check engine. Scan code was P0304. Misfire on cylinder 4. I changed ignition coil 4, set of spark plugs. It was still misfiring on 4. I had spark plugs on 4 changed. This still did not fix it. The person who changed the spark plugs let me know my lifter/cam was bad. I scheduled with Dodge and they diagnosed it with a blown head gasket. The service rep said the blown head gasket was my fault, however after asking the mechanic said there was no code for over heating or any of that, just the misfire.

Well back in November 2025 i had to pay for towing twice and have it in service because the ABS Stop and Start module went out and i had to repalce the battery out of pocket and then not even 7 months to the date i went out and tried to get in my durango and it wouldnt start so i replace the battery and the ABS light came back on and the vehcle shut down and i couldnt get it started back.

When my family and I were making an hour long drive to a hotel for the weekend, the check engine light came on briefly, and went off. On the way home, it came on once more and vehicle lost power and i thought it was going to stall but then it was fine. I thought it was from the cold weather but a few days later, the light came on and stayed on. I got P0001 & P000A codes on a reader. It's unsafe in frigid temps to have the risk of vehicle stalling because of this issue & this isn't the 1st computer/sensor/electrical issue I've had with it since I bought it certified new. I think there are multiple computer issues with this model year and just want to make others aware. There is also a recall with the brake system in this vehicle.

(Recall 21A, NHTSA 23E-019) This recall is for defective Hydraulic Control Unit. Now the recall letter issues a suspected range on the units based on the Julian date of Manufacturing. for this recall is numbers 8166-9106. my unit is8355. The dealerships and Dodge have been making it difficult for me to have replaced because my VIN is not listed for this recall, but its clear it should based on the recall letter that provides the exact range of faulty units that mine falls inline with. I have attached some pics of the recall letter and of my hydraulic unit. any help will be appreciated

Twice this year this has happened. I was driving to work when suddenly the lights on the dash came on and the car started over heating. There was a ton of engine coolant under the car. Took the car to get repaired. They said the coolant lines rub against something under the car and caused a hole. They said it was a defect in the way the car is designed and there is nothing to hold up the coolant lines running to the rear of the vehicle. They told us we needed to contact dodge and file a claim. We did and heard nothing back from them. Fast forward 6 months and it happens again. Car is currently at a dodge dealership. Same issue. Filed another complaint and claim with them. Its been 3 weeks. 0 response. Car is still at the dealership.

The car is un drivable and currently at JT Dodge land in Columbia SC. I have notified my Insurance to see if this is something that would be covered l.

When attempting to start and the push button is pressed, the vehicle stutters for up to 5 seconds before turning over. This is happening intermittently, but will always turn over. Vehicle has been taken to the dealership on 2 occasions (10/28/22 @ 56.5K miles and 12/09/22 @ 56.7K miles) where they were able to duplicate the start crank issue, but there isn't a code appearing to provide an area to troubleshoot. It was also communicated that the service technician researched several service bulletins and was not able to find any information on the happenings. Because there isnt a "failure" we have been told that the vehicle needs to fail in order to have this fixed. We have less than 58K miles on this vehicle. This has been happening since September 2022

I bought this vehicle in Sept 2019 drove off the lot with it brand new and the headlights and whole dash lights went out when I hit a bump. For the next two years, the car kept having electrical problems when it rained or the vehicle was washed but the Virginia dealership could never duplicate the problem. I moved to Indiana where these problems continued. Finally, an Indianapolis dealer discovered my antenna gasket was bad and water had been leaking in from it running to the dash causing all the electrical issues. This was found in 2021. Dodge has recently bought my vehicle back as a lemon but in the paperwork only said it had radio problems. This is not true. It had much more and I'm guessing all the vehicles made with mine may also have a bad/faulty antenna gasket I doubt Dodge did a recall on.

Purchased my used 2019 Durango at the end of June 2022. Everything was fine, then after a month and a half the vehicle starts to act up. Had the "Service Electronic Stability Control" warning come on several times. "Stop/Start Unavailable, Service System" warning come on four or five times. Then, sitting at a stop light, the engine shut down and wouldn't turn on and a warning saying my "Hood Is Open" popped up. Put vehicle in Park. Tried again, same warning, third time was a charm it finally started. Took it to dealer, they say after a 'recall' fix is sent out, some of these problems (they say are related) will go away. Meanwhile, I'm paying for a vehicle that sits in my driveway while I drive one of my other vehicles. I can't drive a vehicle that may suddenly 'shut down' with my family in it. Vehicle only has 17, 900 miles on it too.

On a recent 9hr drive to home the headlights got so dim that I needed to turn on the fog lights to be able to cautiously continue the drive to home. The low voltage and low headlight output makes driving at night a very dangerous situation and can come on quickly. The voltage on the cars digital display varied between 12.2 and 12.3 volts. The halogen headlights are designed for 13.8 volts. The vehicle has been checked by two Dodge dealer and they both have stated it is within the specifications of the Dodge Star Online Publication # S2008000031 REV. A which is attached. There were no warning lights or codes displayed. Dealer # 1 said they have solved this complaint before with changing the headlight assemblies to LED headlights at a cost of $1,700 to $2,000. This was reported to Chrysler under case number 80419497 and I was told I Will Not hear back from Chrysler.

The rear marker lights which are LED have shorted and are now inoperative. So at night I no longer have any rear running lights. Also the license plate lights are out. Dealer charged me $254.00 to diagnose the failed complaint and and found that the rear racetrack light and passenger rear corner light needs replaced. The estimate of repair is $254.00 for diagnosis and $2746.26 for rear race track light and pas rear corner light assembly. The dealer who is familiar with problem contacted Fiat Chrysler Automobiles with reference #931238452 looking for customer assistance with repair and dealer was told that Chrysler customer assistance would only contribute $712.85 with tax and no assistance for the $254.00 diagnosis fee. SO total out of my pocket would be $2447.08. I have read that a class action suit is underway do to the enormous amount of failures on 2017-2025 vehicles.

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11611434

The rear tail light assembly that is mounted on the tailgate (it is often referred to as a "racetrack" light) filled with water and quit working while the vehicle was under warranty. It apparently fails due to a defective seal between the lens and the housing. The light assembly was replaced under warranty and lasted approximately 1 year before leaking and filling with water again. This time it was not covered by warranty. I drained the water, but one of the license plate lights no longer illuminates. It is impossible to change just a bulb. To repair this light requires replacement of the entire assembly at a cost of approximately $2,000. Driving the vehicle with an unilluminated license plate subjects me to being stopped by law enforcement and issued a citation. This is not an isolated incident as I see countless Dodge Durangos, including many that are used by law enforcement, with the same problem.

My agent stated they would try to do on "goodfaith" but days later stated I have to pay regardless of the company malfunction. This could've happened while driving with me or my children. Im just glad that it happened while parked. It was stated to me if this doesnt get done or rather replaced this can be a safety issue. Please if you may share my formal complaint with Dodge or whomever. I have filed a formal complaint as well with Dodge and it has been escalated to case management with a case #.

The vehicle fails to start reliably. I have made all the necessary repairs in an attempt to have the car to start reliably. I have replaced items that the average owner would think are normal wear-and-tear items around the starting system. I have also replaced items that the average owner would not think would wear out and need replacing. All of this work was done out of pocket. A warranty or recall covered none of the work. Yet the car still does not start reliably. I believe this is a safety issue because it could lead to the vehicle losing power on the road and leaving occupants stranded. This is not a normal issue. This must be a manufacturer's issue. Producing and selling a vehicle that has known electrical and fueling problems. Also, Dodge, the manufacture clames the ZF 850RE-based 8-speed automatic has fluid for the life of the vehicle. Dodge claims that the transmission fluid in this transmission does not need to be changed and/or serviced. More information about this ZF 850RE-based 8-speed automatic transmission claim by Dodge would be helpful.

First, very hard time trying to file a complaint with Dodge, they make it hard to find info. To make it short, I have a Dodge Durango RT, only 83,000 miles. The vehicle would not start, and was smoking out the back. Was hoping it was something simple brought it to my mechanic. Turns out there was an oil leak, manifold leak and the starter died. I had to tow my car. Called the Dodge company, and they flat out said they could NOT HELP me and would not do an escalation because I didn't bring it to a Dodge Dealer but "who knew" I would have all these problems, thought it could be something simple and $2200 later. They were so rude, unhelpful and just horrible service. Keep repeating they would not help me or even have a conversation? The sad part is I really love this vehicle. There needs to be an investigation to see if other customers are having these problems because then it's a manufacturing issue. I know they are a huge company and I just a person to them. But I need to know if this is an ongoing problem??? This is not the normal failure on a vehicle, again maybe this was a factory engine problem while being built.

I took my car into Fairfield Dodge (Fairfield Texas). I have taken my car in about 3 times already. The first two was to do test on it. I can be driving my car and smell Gas as if I stepped in it. the smell makes me sick. I can park my car and the smell is just ask bad on the outside as it is in the inside. the car dealership said oh we have found the problem. They had my car for 1mth and 2 days and changed the fuel take and canaster, oh that is it. They said it is fixed " WRONG. " I smell the same smell, and just as strong as I did when I took it in. So, I called, and they told me oh well we can set you up to bring it in so we can check it out. They DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. I only have like 57,000 miles on my car and if this is a ongoing thing I think these falls under a LEMON LAW, I bought this car new. This is very dangerous I would like to get answers on my car and not have to leave it for a month or so just to have the same thing happen again and again. It is so bad if someone was to throw a cigarette down in the parkin lot it might caught on fire. I hope I can get answers before taking it in and getting no answers. The start/stop warning light came on for the second time on my 2019 Durango. I had both batteries replaced the first time and now, at 18,500 miles it came on again even though I drive it daily on both highway and local roads. This time, the warning only came on once but the start/stop feature was affecting the performance of the truck. There would be a lag when I would start to drive again, which was dangerous because if you’re making a quick turn or merge, that little delay was significant in safely timing the turn. Also, it would jerk the wheel abruptly upon restarting. And then the truck died completely. Leaving my husband and daughter stranded. Thank god my infant and I were home because this would’ve been even worse with a baby in tow and or if I was on my way to pick up my older daughter somewhere. He said all the lights and alarms on the dash went bezerk and then the truck wouldn’t start at all. The battery strain from the start/stop must have drained the main battery enough to make the computer system go crazy and completely shut down. The tow truck driver couldn’t get any power to truck and now we were left having to get towed to the dealership right after service closed, with the truck being completely unlocked and dead and the driver side window open.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING

33 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11458088

The tracklight on my 2019 Dodge Durango is no longer working. The whole light on the liftgate of the vehicle which is a big part of the brake warning to other vehicles. Which can very likely cause an accident at anytime since the corners of the tail light arent as visible. The vehicle has been evaluated by an independent service center and I was quoted over $1,000 to fix something that is very critical in the safety of a vehicle in my opinion. No warning from the vehicle at all the only reason it was noticed was because another driver that was behind me stopped at a gas station where I stopped and let me know my brake light was out and I was in fear the rest of the ride home that I would get pulled over and cited for something that shouldnt be my problem or responsibility to fix when its clearly a design flaw. I hope Dodge does the right thing and makes a recall on this matter since I have seen this is a very common problem and through searching on the internet I come to find out its due to water entering the light fixture and causing a shortage in the light. If Dodge doesnt do something about this I can see a lot of lawsuits coming to them due to the reason that the neglect can cause someone to get into an accident being as not everyone can afford to pay over $1,000 for repairs.

Electrical system failure

SUSPENSION,POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11736465

My 2019 Dodge Durango R/T began experiencing drivetrain and warning system issues after collision/body repairs were completed by a repair facility. The original repair work involved suspension/body-related repairs and did not originally include documented transfer case or internal drivetrain damage. At the time I picked the vehicle up from the repair facility, the tire pressure monitoring system warning light was already illuminated. I notified the repair facility and was told to drive the vehicle for approximately 10 minutes and the warning would clear itself. I have video documentation related to this interaction. After the repairs, additional problems began appearing including: * Service AWD warning * Traction control warning indicators * Ongoing drivetrain concerns * Diagnosis involving transfer case/internal damage and burnt fluid The vehicle was later reported to have transfer case clutch failure and internal drivetrain-related issues despite the original repair scope not documenting drivetrain damage. My concern is that the post-repair warnings and drivetrain symptoms may indicate improper inspection, repair, reassembly, fluid servicing, calibration, or unresolved damage related to the repair process. The vehicle has been inspected by the repair facility and diagnostic information was later provided identifying drivetrain/transfer case issues.

I was driving home and felt steering wheel shake while on curved road, brakes felt like they wanted to lock up, then everything on dash lighted up looked like a shortage. My foot was still on the gas pedal then car just slowed down by itself. I had to steer vehicle to side of road. I did not panic, I was fearful something could’ve happened if I would’ve had other vehicles behind or even oncoming traffic. My vehicle is available for inspections upon request. Took my vehicle to a dodge dealership for inspection and I was advised of a recall on my vehicle. Unfortunately, I was advised by the dodge dealership that no remedy was yet available for my vehicle. I also contacted the manufacturer and they advised me the same as dealership, maybe during the first quarter of 2025 there could be a remedy. The manufacturer stated they would prioritize my case but no specific date could be given. I was given an option for a rental and due to my circumstances I would not be able to afford a rental. (I have to continue payments on my loan & vehicle insurance.) I purchased the vehicle from Dyer Chevrolet Vero Beach, I did reach out (on 3/31/2025) and asked them why was vehicle sold if there was a stop sale. Salesperson “ Cameron Andrews” stated “stop sale was not in effect at time of purchase [XXX] and it came out after the fact”. Engine failure

POWER TRAIN,ENGINE

79 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11709001

Took vehicle in for cooling issues, leaking coolant. Garage did courtesy inspection and determined oil cooler failure had caused catastrophic damage to the engine, requiring replacement. Mechanic informed me this particular shop deals with this issue 3-5 times every week, with about one per month requiring full engine replacement. The engine is the 3.6L V6 Pentastar, which is standard in Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Plymouth vehicles and this is a defect known to the manufacturer. My mechanic informed me that both Dodge and the current manufacturer of the engine had tried and failed to correct the problem, because it is an actual design flaw. Caused in part, by the oil cooler being constructed of plastic and mounted at the top of the engine, it is subject to heat and warping which causes the failure. . Mechanic said this is typical around 100k miles. My Durango has 108k, 6k out of the warranty I bought for $4,500 at the dealership, just shy of 3 years ago. This is a known defect. Why is there no recall or remedy for a consumer now facing a $17,000 engine replacement on a $30,000 used vehicle? Dodge knows this is a problem, what is a consumer’s recourse for trusting they make quality vehicles when this presents a major safety issues to anyone with the 3.6L? My dealership never notified me of this issue, nor did the manufacturer. At least a heads up to change to an aftermarket metal oil cooler, to avoid catastrophic loss? This is wrong.

Steering failure

STEERING

52 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11550261

Goodyear examined my Durango on October 4th 2023. Examination results reported a flawed electromechanical steering gearbox. Price to repair including parts, upwards of 4,000 dollars. I have a prepaid warranty covering repairs and parts. Parts availability from the Chrysler corporation are the issue. The dealership Orange Park Chrysler Jeep Dodge was informed AND examined the vehicle themselves. They related to me the "part isn't available". I returned to the Goodyear dealership. Their response is the same. Neither factory nor aftermarket steering gearbox are available for purchase. Therein lies the reason for this report from me. I've written emails to Chrysler (stellantis) customer service 3 times. The 3rd time being today October 16th. They responded once shortly after the October 4th email. Since then quiet as a church mouse. So far the steering gearbox just pops and makes grinding noises. I'm 67 years old and existing on disability payments. I can't get the parts. I still owe 32,000 plus (9650 for warranty coverage). So I CAN'T get rid of it. If it fails while being driven, State Farm won't cover the damages because I KNEW the vehicle was needing repairs and continued to drive it. I'm FORCED to drive it because of parts UNAVAILABLE by Chrysler or the aftermarket. I can't afford a rental car for what appears to be an EXTENDED period of time. I can't attach the 3 emails here. However the emails WILL be retained for future reference. Any assistance you may provide would be greatly appreciated.

I was driving down the freeway going about 70 on a trip with my 2 small kids. We were about 2.5 hours from home when the check engine light came on and was orange. Within minutes, while I was safely trying to get off of the freeway, it turned red and was blinking. I had to slow down to under 40 to get it to go back to orange while I tried to find a place to pull over and figure out what to do, creating a dangerous situation for myself and other drivers. The car only had 40,000 miles, is regularly serviced, and there were no previous issues with any of the warning lights. Took to the first repair shop and they said it was likely the coolant pipes and they have seen it in Durangos because of the way the car is assembled. They recommended that I bring it to the dealership because they didn't want to void my warranty. Dealership confirmed it was "large leak coming from back of engine. upon further inspection leak is coming from rear heater coolant pipes. replaced coolant pipes and found coolant leaks from rear heater hoses. replaced rear heater hoses" The issue with the heater hoses having to be replaced is that the car is assembled so that it has to be completely lifted and split in 2 to be able to do the work. Because of the position of the hoses, there are parts of the frame of the car that rub against those hoses and pipes creating damage and leaks, and there is no easy way to repair the damage that is caused by manufacturer positioning. The parts themselves were less than $700, but the labor charge for having to have multiple people work on taking the entire car apart to replace those parts was more than $5,000.

ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

13 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11338167

On July 2, 2020, I was driving my Dodge Durango up an isolated steep mountain road in the Sierra Nevada at about 20 MPH when it suddenly stalled on a steep grade in the road. I was able to apply the emergency brakes to prevent the car from rolling backwards. There were no engine warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel and the car had been operating at normal temperature. After trying to the restart the car, the engine at first began to operate, then almost immediately hesitated and died. I tried again with the same results, and even attempted to apply the gas pedal to no avail. As someone with some previous mechanical experience, it seemed to me that it was a fuel delivery problem. The car had nearly half a tank of gas however. I popped the hood and observed nothing out of the ordinary that would indicate any problems. There was oil in the crankcase and ample coolant. My wife and I decided to wait and let the engine and vehicle cool down since it was over 90 degrees outside air temperature. After about 20 minutes, I restarted the car without problem and continued on my way. The car had previously been in automatic mode but had shifted to the lower gears. I decided to put the transmission in manual mode and keep the car in 1ST and 2ND gear due to the steep Terrain. We had no problems the rest of the way. We were beyond cell phone Range on a very isolated road and it would have been very difficult to obtain a tow, so I am very grateful the car continued to operate after our initial problem. However, we would like to know if this problem will occur again or whether having the transmission in automative mode on a steep grade played any role.

I had a safety recall for the ABS brake module which was taken in. I was told twice one time the part they did not know when it would arrive. I kept calling. It was very hard to get a hold of the dealership Chrysler Dodge ram country and Fort Stockton, Texas. Called again last Friday conveniently. The part had been incorrectly ordered and that day it was available. They were going to have a tech repair it that day. I told them to give me a call because I would be working out of town. They did not call but they took my vehicle to my employer and left it there and left the keys with the coworker. Call them back on Monday because now I had the auto start light on and still the traction light on. Explain to them that if it could have been part of the ABS module they had supposedly replaced. They tried to convince me that it did not. So needless to say I had to replace a vacuum pump which is in the process but as the gentleman that was going to repair that took a look at the ABS module which was old. No signs of anything being new or even any of the components being removed. No signs of it being touched. I googled the part number on the abs module which came up as a recall item. So the original part was still in my vehicle which was the original part that had a recall. The item was never replaced as they had told me which could have led to a major hazard or possibly even death of myself, family, or even another vehicle causing an accident. They took it upon themselves to put myself in danger and anybody else on the roads along with anybody. I might have been carrying in my vehicle by lying that they had replaced that part. I have pictures of the part with the part number that matched the recall part number

Chrysler Customer Care PO Box 21-8004 Auburn Hills, MI 48321-8004 June 3, 2022 Dear Customer Care, I own a 2019 Chrysler Dodge Durango Pursuit. I purchased it used last year from a Chrysler dealer in Newcastle, Maine. Today, as I was driving along the road my car completely shut off. It was totally without any power at, thankfully, only 35-40 mph. I had no brakes, no power steering, no lights, including flashers, NOTHING. I was able to get partially off the road but was in a very precarious place and had to call 911 to get a police car to come to keep from being hit by traffic. When the tow truck got there, I knew that the Neutral Engagement button needed to be pushed in to pull the car onto the flatbed and advised the driver. He proceeded to push the release button, but nothing happened until he wiggled the shift level. When he did that, the electrical came back on and the car asked for the key fob to start the car. It then started to all our amazement. There is no apparent reason for this vehicle to have lost all power and electrical when it did. This is a very, very unsafe situation. If I had been in heavy traffic and going much faster the story might have been very tragic. There is no way I would have been able to get off the highway, especially if I had to cross a lane or two. I had all I could do to steer it at 35. I am sending a copy of this letter to Consumer Reports, the NHTSA, and a local Chrysler dealer. I am hoping the dealer might have some idea of what may be happening so that I can make sure it doesn’t happen again. I think you need to find out and see what you can come up with as well. This is a serious safety problem that needs your immediate attention. Please get back to me with your findings asap. Thank you. Sincerely, [XXX] cc.
