Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11759121

On July 29th 2024 (two weeks after regular oil change) i noticed the engine temperature rise to the halfway mark. I stopped at Sheetz and waited for it to cool down. I opened the coolant cap and only a few drops remained in the reservoir. I added coolant and called Timbrook Nissan to complain they didn't top off the coolant. I was advised that "those Rogues are known to leak coolant out of the back." I took it to the dealership for diagnosis on August 10th. They advised that the 4th piston is cracked and a new engine is necessary. Nissan is not making new Rogue engines. They will put a used engine in for $8500. (I assume of the same quality). I took it to an independant shop. They found coolant in pistons 3 and 4. They cannot fix because Rogue engines are backordered with no ETA. There were no warnings. The car was being maintained religiously. A cracked cylinder poses risk of the engine shutting down while on the freeway. It also causes super heating of coolant posing a burn risk. Unburned fuel can be forced down the exhaust line and ignited into the catalytic converter.

I’m not exactly sure what is wrong but can only assume it would be engine or transmission related. While driving whether it’s city streets going 5 to 35 miles an hour or on the freeway with a speed limit of 75 at any moment while driving RPMs will shoot high and stay high until I am able to safely pull over Put the vehicle in park and then proceed back into drive. This has happened several times while on the freeway, which poses serious safety issues in pulling off a freeway safely, and has happened numerous times driving the city streets in my town. I took the vehicle in to be checked out And was told CVT transmissions are notorious for having issues, especially in this year make and model of vehicle. Shortly after having the vehicle serviced I see the article showing over 400,000 vehicles are being recalled for the same exact issue. I need to make sure that my car is included in that recall because it is the exact same issue and needs resolved as this is a fairly new vehicle and should not be having these issues or opposing danger to myself and my family When I have attempted to resolve the issue.

I have a 2021 Nissan Rogue and have had numerous problems with it since the purchase. My current problem is that the back hatch/trunk is leaking when it rains, water is coming through. The back hatch/trunk will also open and not stay open, it begins to automatically close unless you press the button so it will not close on you. The warning lights have also began coming on again stating that driving assistance is not available. I also lose power to the display screen on the inside and it goes dark. The nissan place where I live is aware and I have an appointment on Tuesday of this month. I have asked them in the past about recalls on my vehicle and they state that my vehicle has no recalls, I have also checked the site and it states my VIN is not included in the recall even though I feel like I have had so many problems with this car. In the past, I have already had to have my alternator replaced and a new battery. This is my first experience owning a Nissan, in the past I had a toyota and in the future I will go back to a toyota. I will not own another Nissan, my experience has not been a good one with this vehicle.

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11663623

The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the message "Malfunction Error" was displayed, and the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the rear brake pads and brake fluid were replaced, and an oil change was performed. The failure persisted, and the contact was informed that the coolant and EGR sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to a second dealer, Hallmark Nissan (1300 3rd Ave N, Birmingham, AL 35203), where the front brake pads and air filters were replaced and tire rotations were performed, but the failure recurred. The contact was informed that the engine oil and coolant needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was later involved in a crash unrelated to the failure, and while the suspensions were being replaced by the body shop, a 2023 Nissan Rogue loaner was provided, and the vehicle experienced the same failure with the "Malfunction Error" message displayed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

There are leaks at the corner of the top windshield through to the inside of the vehicle. Problem is reoccurring with rain and when vehicle is washed leaving the interior of the roof and side panel lining the windshield wet potential causing internal water damage to electrical components and creating mold and mildew buildup that is not yet visible. This creates an extreme health risk for the general population but especially for my child and myself who are highly allergic to mold and mildew. The outside of the vehicle appears to now be rusting due to this issue as well. This issue was first reported to the dealer within the first month or so of purchasing the vehicle in July of 2021 and taken in for inspection, along with several other issues, however was not noted on the service report for the technicians to inspect and was missed. Was officially inspected by the dealership in June 2025 and was told it is the roof rails that are leaking, this is a common issue, and likely was due to the vehicle being parked outside and probably had leaves trapped inside contributing to the leak, however this began within the first month of purchasing the vehicle new.

Airbag / restraint failure

AIR BAGS,SEAT BELTS

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11424722

We bought our 2021Nissan Rogue SE from Fuccillo Nissan of Clearwater, 15232 US-19, Clearwater, FL, (727-507-3200) on May 5, 2021.Our Rogue had 400+ miles on the odometer at the time we received. On June 7, 2021 the air bag dash light came on. An appointment was made for service of the airbags on June 10, 2021. At the time of pick up the airbag dash light was off. It turned back on June 14, 2021. In a call to Fuccillo Service Department the service tech informed us that because the airbag dash light was on the airbags were disabled. We had a major trip planned to attend a wedding in PA that we were driving to. Since the airbags were disabled driving our Rogue on a 3000+ mile trip would not be safe. We were put in a position of renting a vehicle for our trip. On June 15, 2021 we left our Rogue at Fuccillo Nissan of Clearwater for repair of this safety issue. Today is July 14, 2021 and our Rogue is still at the dealership waiting for the arrival of a seat belt clip which may fix the airbag issue. We have started a claim Case# 44081404 with Nissan Consumer Assistance requesting replacement of Rogue with a new 2021 Nissan Rogue comparably equipped as the new 2021 Nissan Rogue we purchased on May 5, 2021.

AIR BAGS,STRUCTURE

56 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11730826

A water intrusion issue developed originating from the roof/moonroof area of the vehicle. The problem was initially diagnosed by an authorized dealership as a failure in the moonroof drain system, and the drain tubes were replaced. The repair was completed and marked as resolved. However, the leak continued after the repair. Upon further inspection, the dealership identified the source of the leak as the moonroof rubber seal and recommended replacement of the seal assembly. Water intrusion is entering the headliner and traveling into the upper A-pillar area. This area contains curtain airbag components and associated electrical systems. The presence of moisture in this location raises concern about potential impact to airbag functionality and overall vehicle safety. There were no warning lights or system messages prior to or during the occurrence of this issue. The failure presents as visible water intrusion, including wet headliner material and moisture accumulation near the A-pillar. The issue has been reproduced and confirmed by an authorized dealership. The initial repair attempt did not resolve the problem, and the condition remains present. The affected components (drain system and seal area) are available for inspection upon request.

Powertrain / transmission failure

POWER TRAIN

4 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11438958

The cheap plastic transmission drive selector broke off when I took delivery of the rental car. I was astonished to find that the thing just broke and pulled right out of its socket while I was attempting to back it up right out of the rental parking lot. I've driven cars since 1971 and I've never seen a drive selector just break off that easily before. That should just never happen. I never could get it into drive again without just turning the car off. I finally figured out how to get it into Reverse and Drive and Neutral, but that's it. There were no warning lamps and the indicator on the shift lever that's supposed to tell you it's in Park never lit up. Without it going into park, there is a real risk of the car rolling away. Turning the car off does put it into Park because it's an electronic transmission apparently. But I had to engage the parking brake when putting it into Neutral when I went to park. I'm just astonished Nissan would put something this fail prone on the road. The shift control should just never break whether it's a lever, or dial or pushbutton. I am now liable for a $400 repair job. I realize that this was just a cheap rental car, but I strongly feel that it shouldn't have happened. Wouldn't want anyone else to have this issue.

Fuel system failure

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

54 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11714462

The fuel pump and fuel level system appear to be malfunctioning. After refueling, the fuel gauge on the dashboard fluctuates continuously and does not provide a stable or accurate reading. This fluctuation continues for several minutes after pumping gas. The vehicle also struggles to start, requiring multiple attempts before turning on. On multiple occasions, the engine has shut off unexpectedly while the vehicle was in motion. This issue poses a safety risk because the vehicle can stall while driving, which increases the risk of a collision, especially in traffic or at higher speeds. The inaccurate fuel gauge also makes it difficult to determine the actual fuel level, increasing the risk of running out of fuel unexpectedly. The problem has occurred multiple times and is reproducible. The fuel pump and related components are available for inspection upon request. Dealer or independent service center confirmation is UNKNOWN at this time. Inspection by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives is UNKNOWN. Prior to the vehicle shutting off or struggling to start, symptoms included fluctuating fuel gauge readings immediately after refueling and continued erratic gauge behavior while driving. No warning lights are recalled at this time (UNKNOWN).

Ok , so 4 weeks ago I was driving down Jefferson Avenue here in st. Louis mo. The road is completely redone , no bumps, pothole etc. I was traveling about 35mph when car stared this possible wobble.. got out and notice my drivers side tie rod had snapped in half. Mind you my car only has 44k on it and I take immaculate care of it. I searched all over trying to find a tie rod for it. No one could produce one. Soni called nissan consumer affairs to get involved amd help locate parts to this car. After them towing my car to a dealer it has sat fir weeks now, amd they finally denied any help saying they wasn't responsible. Amd it was going to have to have a whole new steering rack n pion, which is 2500 dollars I don't have. I've looked around amd called and everyone is saying you hardly ever have to replace all of that for a tie rod. Nissan. I know is under investigation for this happening to other people with the rogue. I need something done about this and I can't get any help.from nissan or any nissan dealer, not even the dealerni bought my car at. This is becoming a head ache and I might have to see about starting a Class action lawsuit against them. Not supplying the parts and forcing me to have work dome that doesn't need to be done. Help please if you can!@

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11758344

Complaint Description: On XXX, my 2021 Nissan Rogue would not start due to a busted engine block, rendering the vehicle inoperable. The vehicle was serviced exclusively at Kraft Nissan in [XXX], from the time of purchase until approximately one year prior to the failure, following the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule. I contacted Nissan regarding the engine bearing recall affecting 2021-2024 Rogue vehicles equipped with the VC-Turbo engine (Nissan recall numbers R25A8/A9 and R25B1/B2), which addresses bearing failures that can breach the engine block and increase the risk of engine fire. I was informed that my VIN is not included in this recall campaign, despite my vehicle being the same model year and equipped with the same engine type, and despite experiencing symptoms consistent with the defect described in the recall (engine block failure). My vehicle remains undrivable due to this engine failure. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether additional vehicles, including mine, should be included in this recall campaign based on the described defect and failure pattern. On around [XXX] around 9-10 pm. I hear a muffled explosion. It even vibrated our house. It scared me and our two dogs. On [XXX] we ran errands in my vehicle. We get home. I open her hatch to get stuff out. I hear broken glass sound. I look up to see her rear window completely shattered. With two holes. One in the same area on either side. The glass actually blew outwards!! I called my local Nissan in Greeneville, TN. They told me to bring it in on on [XXX]. Before taking it in. I googled our issue. Low and behold NUMEROUS 2021 Nissan Rogue owners on a Nissan Forum has had the same issue! Nissan denies that there's been any issues have they had to replace any rear windows due to this. On a Nissan Forum other customers have been denied as well! A company that makes BILLIONS won't accept responsibility. I know one thing. We'll never buy another Nissan for sure. As we had to pay out of pocket almost $500 to have it replaced. Nissan denied ours as I had to tape it all up. Otherwise it would've fallen out into the road. Roughly 2 dozen or more customers can't be lying nor be wrong. Please help us. As I'm pretty sure it's a bad batch of glass. If it were anything else there'd probably be more. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

12 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11469585

The vehicle was being driven to work approximately 30 miles. It was noticeable that the fuel gauge was dropping rather quickly. When entering the parking lot and parking the odor of gas was strong. After walking around the vehicle a puddle of liquid was under the passenger side door area. After looking under the vehicle the underside was saturated with fuel. The fuel tank was now empty. The vehicle was 75 miles from a Nissan dealer so we towed it to a class A mechanic shop for repair. At the time we were thinking something just pulled apart like a connection. The mechanic put the vehicle on a lift and took off all the covers to explore and found the fuel line blew apart. I contacted a Nissan dealership which told me I would have to tow it to them which would be my cost. It is still at the mechanic shop and whenever Nissan finds a new fuel line it will be repaired. This vehicle is a 2021 and has 44000 miles this should not happen. Now it will be 3 weeks minimum to get this fuel line because the Nissan parts service cannot find the fuel line. I think Nissan needs to look into this issue because we had 4 people riding in the car the day before and if it would of blew out at that time and caused a explosion 4 lives could of been gone. Lucky the vehicle didn’t ignite in this situation but I’m sure it could very easily being close to the exhaust system.

Powertrain / transmission failure

POWER TRAIN

53 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11735863

The failure involves the AWD drivetrain system, specifically the rear differential assembly and previously the electromagnetic AWD coupler. The vehicle developed significant shuddering and vibration during acceleration from a stop and while turning at low speeds. A Nissan dealership has confirmed metal contamination within the AWD system and recommended replacement of the rear differential. The vehicle has not yet been repaired and is available for inspection upon request. This condition creates unpredictable acceleration and hesitation, particularly when entering traffic or making turns. The vehicle does not respond consistently to throttle input, which poses a safety risk by limiting the driver’s ability to accelerate as expected and avoid potential hazards or collisions. The issue has been confirmed by both an independent mechanic and a Nissan dealership. The independent mechanic identified abnormal debris during fluid service and suspected a drivetrain issue. The dealership later confirmed excessive metal contamination in the AWD system. The vehicle has been inspected by an independent mechanic and a Nissan dealership. The manufacturer has not physically inspected the vehicle but has been contacted through Consumer Affairs. No warning lights or messages appeared. Symptoms began around November 2025 at approximately 80,000 miles and have progressively worsened.

This event has happen 5 times in the last 8 months. While driving (under 30 miles per hr.) car suddenly seems to disengage from the engine . I no longer have acceleration and the engines RPMs increase while stepping on the gas. Stepping off the gas petal will lower the RPMs but the car slows down and eventually will stop. If I brake and reset the car in Drive, will reset and begin to accelerate. Bad thing is there is not engine warning lights or indication of when this will happen. Each episode has been when I have not been going over 30 mph luckily. I never know when this will happen, my biggest fear is the engine will disengage, I will be stuck in the middle of the road and someone will not see me and rear-end me. I have contacted the dealer (January 31, 2024) and had the car looked at but because they could not duplicate the event, they gave it back to me. Attached are pics from the service call where after giving the car back to me they left diagnostic gauges, tape and rusty screwdriver in engine. The last time it happened and I took it to the dealer, they say they test drove it but on the Invoice the mileage remained the same from the Mileage in and out. Hmmm...Did they really test drive it?!!! Or are they just sick of me bringing it to them. Bought the 2021 Nissan Rogue on November 21, 2021 and currently (as of 6/3/24) only have 16315 miles. I am afraid, I have bought a Lemon.

June 2025 rear door locks stopped working. (Odometer 12,538) I was unable to lock/unlock doors with key fob or with inside driver's door lock/unlock button. Repaired 06/10/2025 at Mentor Nissan, 44060, by replacement of parts #82500-6R0B & 82501-6R0B: CONTROLLER-LOCK in both rear doors. Incident #2: Feb 2026 front driver-side door lock became inoperable, the same as had occurred with the rear door locks. I'm at Nissan Mentor today (02/17/2026) for evaluation & repair. (Odometer 15,200) Both of these door lock issues resulted in inability to enter/exit vehicle. Very dangerous if someone were unable to exit vehicle in emergency. Otherwise a big inconvenience requiring one to climb over other seats to enter/exit vehicle. The car is under extended warranty. June 2025 I paid $100 deductible plus tax & fee, totaling $110.21. Today's repair cost to be determined. In each incident there were no warning lamps or messages. Both issues began with intermittent lock/unlock failure, then escalated to complete failure within 2-3 weeks. This has caused several inconveniences of not being able to enter the vehicle through the effected doors. And now the second incident again requires waiting for repair. In the first instance with rear door there was a wait of several weeks for the needed replacement parts. I anticipate the same delay with the front door repair. As I write this I'm at Mentor Nissan facility waiting for report from service department.

The component is still in the vehicle and is available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Answer: The engine stalls or loses power unexpectedly while driving at highway speeds. This creates a high risk of a rear-end collision, as the vehicle becomes a stationary or slow-moving hazard in active traffic without warning. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Answer: I have experienced the failure repeatedly. Although I contacted a Nissan dealer, they stated they could not verify or perform the repair because my VIN is not currently listed in the R21B8 recall database, despite the vehicle exhibiting the exact symptoms described in that campaign. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Answer: No, it has not been officially inspected by the manufacturer yet because they claim the vehicle is not part of the current recall population. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Answer: The symptoms include engine hesitation during acceleration, difficulty starting, and sudden stalling. These symptoms first appeared at approximately [ No warning lights or "Check Engine" messages appeared prior to the engine stalling.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

50 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11680660

I had purchased a brand new 2021 Nissan Rouge SV AWD in 2021. I am now at 46,000 miles and I have had all system lights on and off since purchase. The first started with back hatch around 20 miles, went to go get it taken care of and it disappeared. I have broke down with electrical issues twice now, with error code of 'Warning Malfunction', 'forward collision warning', 'air bag', 'forward collision light' and 'check engine" on dash. On Sunday August 10 2025, I was driving on the highway at 70 MPH, and my vehicle slammed on the brakes automatically with kids in the car. Looking at the dashboard showed forward collision light, with no cars near me. I then went 35 MPH to get off nearest exit. I made it home safely with minor issues to kids neck from the brake issue. Yesterday on August 13 2025 I went to my local supermarket to get milk, and the car wouldn't start after I went shopping and showed a different error of 'Malfunction'. In the winter time the light of forward collision comes on, and I have no control over my vehicle at all. I then assumed I needed better tires and purchased them, however it made no difference. This SUV is very dangerous, and I am terrified to even drive it. The airbag light has now been on also, and in addition to yesterday's break down, the engine light is also on. I have an appointment again for my Nissan dealer now on Tuesday August 19 2025, and hoping this will be resolved. At 46,000 miles this should not be an issue, let alone danger my family. I also have videos, that won't allow upload here. Please help me.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

60 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11754829

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The fuel/engine vapor ventilation system in the driver-side engine bay is leaking raw fuel fumes into the fresh air intake. Yes, the vehicle and all components are available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Inhaling continuous raw gasoline fumes while driving and idling causes physical distress, including severe headaches, burning eyes, and dizziness, creating a driving hazard. The unaddressed raw fuel leak under the hood also poses an elevated fire safety risk. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center?Pinnacle Nissan previously confirmed a fuel leak and replaced the fuel tank and lock ring assembly. ABC Nissan inspected the vehicle for over a week, confirmed testing was conducted, but reported they were unable to pinpoint the engine bay leak source. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Inspected by Pinnacle Nissan and ABC Nissan service departments under active Nissan Consumer Affairs Case #56847990. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lamps or dashboard messages appeared. The symptom is a persistent raw gasoline smell coming through the front dashboard HVAC vents while driving and idling, which began prior to any repairs and continues to persist on this Certified Pre-Owned vehicle.

Since October of 2024, I've been having recurring leaks coming through the front right passenger's side at the top corner of the windshield, where the seam in the fabric meets. I have had multiple appointments at Nissan dealerships, where I've been told "your drains are clogged," "it's how it was manufactured," "we'll add some sealant," etc. and the problem has progressively gotten worse and worse, spreading to other areas of my roof, staining my interior, and causing mold and mildew issues. I wonder if it's not a sunroof problem, but a roof rack problem. There was a recall on a batch of 2021 Nissan Rogues in 2021 for this issue, but my car's manufacturing date unfortunately did not fall under that recall. Nissan will not check to see if that's the issue since my car is not technically under recall. I've found a huge community of people online who have had the same problems with their Nissan Rogues, and have unfortunately either had to sell their cars back to the dealership, or are living with mold and mildew in their cars because it's a problem that Nissan has not been willing to fix. I'm asking that this problem is looked into further on behalf of myself and other 2021 Nissan Rogue owners whose particular manufacturing dates did not fall under the recall for the leaking roof racks (attached) and are continuing to have water leak into their cars. My whole sunroof, besides the glass, was replaced in June of 2025, and the problem worsened (photos attached). My car is now back in the shop at a different dealership, with the hopes that they can help me.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 9, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11565411

Within 2 months of purchasing our Rogue, I experienced uncontrolled acceleration as I was increasing speed to get onto a very fast flowing highway. I was able to put my foot under the pedal and physically force it back to "normal" operation position and the uncontrolled acceleration stopped. I had the car towed to the dealership the next morning where they did a "full system recalibration". So far, this particular issue has not occurred again yet, I do have concerns still as it seems that the car does not always respond correctly/immediate to acceleration now. Additionally, I have experienced the entire center console turning itself off/shutting down and nothing can bring it back up until it wants to. No stopping and turning off the engine, not turning it off and back on, etc. Also have now experienced the car turning itself off when coming to a stop sign, or coming to a stop on the highway due to traffic - please note these are NOT high-speed stopping events, but occurred with regular braking in slow stop and go traffic or neighborhood driving speeds (30mph or less) - this has happened 4 times now. When taken to the dealership recently I was told there "was an update for the computer" but that it would take them 5 hours (five) to download the file and then one hour to transmit/upload it to my vehicle and that it had to be done there. I informed them I would need to return at a later date to do so. Turns out according to a different dealer across town - you can do that at home on your own WiFi... but they wouldn't tell me how. No communication yet from Nissan regarding any of this.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11675249

The battery was drained on several occasions starting just shy of a year of owning the vehicle, after recharging it would be fine and showed no signs that it needed replacing, until it was finally completely drained and wouldn’t start without being jumped in June 2025. The USM Configuration for the EEM recall was completed at this time along with a battery replacement. However, research suggests that issue could lead to draining of the battery, which the dealer denies was a possibility. These issues combined lead to all warning lights/lamps being produced on the display panel intermittently with a different message as to what the problem was each time. Turns out the only issue was the battery, according to the dealer. There have been several other issues I believe may be electrical related but unsure and when the taken to the dealership to have inspected was told the system just needed to be updated, however it has never fixed these issues, such as rearview backup camera screen black and not working intermittently and sometimes staying on while driving at higher speeds, screen in middle dash not responding to touch or buttons at random, doors automatically and unintentionally unlocked, doors not opening from the inside or outside on rare occasion, system in dash completely shutting down as if the vehicle was turned off and flashing before coming back up, vehicle not starting here and there while inside the vehicle or with key fob or app for remote start. All the random issues have been ongoing since the purchase of the vehicle, but told due to the dealer unable to recreate each problem, they are unable to actually identify what it is.

1. Rattling noise. Front driver door rattle around the window switch area (happens in some temperature like early morning, late night time, and driving on rough road). Center dash near the ac vent and hazard light area (happens driving on rough road at night time when the car cools down). Front passenger door rattles happen driving on all rough road. I think I hear something from the sun roof too or maybe it’s coming from the passenger side. 2. Passenger door sound like there is something loose around the mirror area. Just Park the car. You can hear it outside at night time when you close the door with normal force. 3. Driver side under the kick panel there is a plastic pieces not putting together right. It looks like it falling apart. 4.Driver door there is a little hole on the inside leather. I notice it when the car is like 2 days old when I was washing the car. 5. On the driver side fender is making noise when you push on it when the car is parked and at lower temperature time. 6. The engine oil thing keeps showing up. Sometime it says service due now or sometime it says service due soon. (First time it happened at 151 miles into this new car. Second time around 300 miles then around 500 miles then 1264 miles into the car then 1387 miles then 1779 miles then 2225 miles then 2477 miles). 7. The AC sync button light does not turn off when tri-zone ac is not in sync. 8. The AC light is not on when on auto mode. 9. The new Nissan digital dashboard at night time light does not dime right. there is a software issue. 10. propilot assist will pull the car to the left if there is a car next to my left. Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11484124

When trying to start the car I had to push the Brakes almost to the floor to get it to start. THEY WERE EXTREMELY SOFT TO GET IT TO START THE ENGINE AND THEN THEY WERE GOING TO THE FLOOR BEFORE COMING TO A STOP. THEY ARE ALMOST TO THE FLOOR WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR STOPPING. Then while I was driving to pick up my prescriptions and approaching a Stop Sign, then 3 Stop Lights or approaching a vehicle that is already stopped in front of me my brakes are extremely soft and do not engage. They almost go to the floor. The car does not immediately slow down or come to a stop. I have to keep pumping the brakes and even then they were Extremely soft and went almost to the floor before Stopping. I have small feet Size 6-7 and One time my foot slid under the pedal. I had to use the Parking brake at the Stop Sign and the Stop Lights to feel comfortable enough that I would not move forward and be sure I that I came a full Stop. I pulled into a McDonalds Parking Lot less than a mile from my home to see if I turn off the car it will reset the brakes and it did not work. I called Elevated Nissan in Merriam, Kansas which is the Dealership I purchased it from (less than another Mile away from the McDonalds) they were closing in 25 minutes, so I drove less than 5 mph to get there and dropped off the vehicle. I showed [XXX] in service how they would go to the floor. He called me the next morning and after the vehicle sitting in the shop all night long the brakes engaged in a normal fashion the next day. They are trying to find out what is causing them to go soft. These Brakes can cause a Serious Catastrophe resulting in injury or worse. my gear shifter in my 2021 Rogue was stuck in park. I was stuck in the middle of a 6 lane road. Car would not go into drive or reverse in heavy traffic or neutral. Had waited for police they arrived 15 minutes later car was able to engage drive . Then towed to Nissan of Rockville Center NY. I was informed that liquid was under gear shifer and the electronics were faulty. I had the same issue in 2022 and received 2,500 dollars from Nissan but they never replaced part... Today same issue but life threatening. Water is able to drip down the shifter mechanism and made the CVT light to turned on and the car was stuck in park, Nissan said water got under the shifter. I own the car and never spilled water or accidently spilled water into the gear shifter. I called Nissan consumer affairs case # [XXX] and complained and said " How is this not water proofed as if water can get in this area cause the car to be immobile. stuck in park. I awaited a tow truck from AAA at [XXX] [XXX]... This complaint or defect is serious! I was so scared. But the police surrounded my car from traffic within 3 minutes.. on [XXX], Long Island. This ability for water to go through the shifter and cause this issue is an absolute manufacturers defect and needs to be address to this shifter design. It is the newer style shifter with only forward neutral and park button. this should be a sealed area as the cup holders are 2 inches away from the shifter. I think the issue started 2 years ago and corroded the electronics as nothing has spilt in this area ever! I don't even remember spilling anything in 2022. I asked Nissan if it could of come from below the car.? they said NO. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle and then turning off the vehicle and entering the residence, the contact then attempted to restart the vehicle, and the vehicle failed to restart. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact was unable to roll down the windows. The contact was assisted with jumpstarting the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the battery needed to be replaced. The battery was replaced. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while the vehicle was stopped at a stop sign, the vehicle made an abnormal sound and then stalled. The vehicle failed to restart, with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact was unable to move over to the side of the road. The contact called a family member for a jumpstart. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not inspected or diagnosed. The contact stated that the failure persisted. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to a manufacturer’s campaign related to the Body Control Module (BCM). Most recently, the contact stated that the rearview camera displayed a distorted image or a black screen while the vehicle was in reverse(R). The contact stated that the failure obstructed the driver's visibility, which prevented the driver from safely operating the vehicle. The contact turned off the vehicle and waited for several minutes before restarting the vehicle. The contact stated that the rear camera would then reboot. The contact stated that while using the key fob, the doors or liftgate failed to lock securely. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000.

POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11750688

I was driving my 2021 Nissan Rogue on the highway, returning from the airport after picking up a friend, when the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle began jerking on acceleration. The vehicle lost power and would only move very slowly, leaving me traveling well below highway speed in active traffic. This created an extremely dangerous situation, as surrounding vehicles were approaching at full highway speed while my vehicle could not accelerate or maintain a safe speed. The vehicle also appeared to be running hot. I did not feel safe continuing to drive the vehicle, so I stopped driving it and had it taken to Crest Nissan of Frisco (Frisco, TX) for diagnosis. The dealership retrieved diagnostic trouble codes P1217 (engine overheat) and P0300 (random/multiple cylinder misfire). Upon inspection, they found low coolant, pressure-tested the cooling system, and confirmed that coolant is entering multiple cylinders, causing the misfire and overheating. The dealership states the engine cannot be repaired and the long block engine assembly must be replaced, at a quoted cost of $6,955.49. The vehicle is barely outside the manufacturer's warranty by time and mileage. There was no warning prior to this failure, and the vehicle has been properly maintained. This is an internal engine failure (coolant intrusion into the cylinders), not a maintenance-related issue. I am aware of other 2021 Nissan Rogue owners reporting the same failure — coolant entering the cylinders/mixing with oil, misfires, overheating, and dealers requiring full engine replacement shortly after warranty expiration. This defect presents a serious safety hazard: sudden loss of power and inability to accelerate in highway traffic creates a significant risk of a rear-end collision.

STEERING

28 months

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11553540

Tue 10/17/23...power steering assist failed...steering locked up while exiting my driveway. Had vehicle towed to Sutherlin Nissan 8125 E. Colonial Dr. Orl FL 32817. They repaired vehicle and I picked it up Fri 10/20/23. They claimed this was an anomaly and would never happen again. Thu 10/26/23 steering kept locking up and releasing...steering light on dashboard kept going on/off. Had vehicle towed to Sutherlin Nissan. They claimed they found nothing wrong and returned vehicle to me. Tue 10/31/23 felt steering acting when parking...drove around building complex and parked several times...felt nothing. Thu 11/2/23 after making a left turn while driving steering locked up causing me to lose control and end up diagonally across middle of road narrowly missing another vehicle. driver of other vehicle came to my assistance and thought I had a medical episode and wanted to call 911. I had to fight the steering to get it out of the middle of the road. She then thought I was under the "influence". I had to have her check the steering to convince I was not. She then remarked that I should not be driving a "defective" vehicle on the road which can easily cause an accident resulting in serious injury or even death to myself and /or other motorists. Had vehicle towed to Sutherlin Nissan. Fri 11/3/23 went to Sutherlin and told them I would not be driving the said vehicle again and like to turn it in under the "Lemon Law"......they refused.....I am here wondering what should be my next course of action. I still owe the Bank and am responsible for the payments/balance.... they have possession of the vehicle.. and I am without transportation. I am suspecting that the vehicle might have some history of steering problems with a previous owner and asked them to show me the previous service history...but they refused.

In mid-XXX, my wife reported that all the warning lights (except CHECK ENGINE) lit up along with the warning sounds. The engine immediately started losing power. When car was pulled over, it sounded like a rough running engine and very little power. Since the first time, the issue has occurred a couple dozen of times. When the car is turned off for 30 seconds and turned back on, everything resets and there is no issue. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for this occurring (happens in hot or cold temps, wet or dry conditions, all speeds, etc). Owner (me) put a FIXD device into the OBD2 port and it provided several error codes - not of which made much sense. I took screen shots of the codes and put [XXX] AI to work. Tried to troubleshoot myself but it got complicated very quickly. Took vehicle into Nissan dealership on XXX and explained that the codes came on intermittently and described the issue and engine power reduction. I paid for the engine scan ($200) and, as I thought, it came back reading NO CODES. I then provided to the service agent (Dave) an email with a video of the codes happening in real time along with the error codes provided by the FIXD device. The dealership was not able to pull any error codes nor were they able to duplicate the failures. After 1 week, I took the car back since we needed it. The safety issue is that the engine loses power and has stalled on occasion. The time my wife was driving 60 mph and engine lost power was scary and she had a friend in the car at the time. I have video clips of the errors while driving which will provide you additional information. However, I was not able to attach them below as .MP4 files are not allowed. Will provide on request. July 2022 while driving 70 mph on a highway in the middle lane (between tractor trailers) my dash flashed “Malfunction Service Now” I went to get over as the car was decelerating — the dash was lit but the gas pedal had no communication with the drive train. It was a close call bearly made it to the shoulder. Had to be towed. The dealer said the ECM ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE wasn’t clipped correctly and lost communication. December 2022 while my husband was driving it happened again. Sudden with no warning as we were about to cross the inter coastal by us….glided to the last patch of grass before a bridge at night -would have left us on a dark bridge and no where to go- no doubt that for the second time our lives would have been in danger. We were told the ECM from the first incident was arching and burned out the ECM so it was replaced….repaired not fixed!, August 2023 on a side road with nothing around it happened yet again! We had to be towed for the third time and luckily were able to glide to a semi-shoulder. Left stranded, hard to find a ride as the tow truck driver couldn’t give us a ride finally found someone to get us. A two year old car, mind you that this started at 15 month ownership of this Nissan Rogue, should NOT put peoples lives in danger!!! never a warning before these events. My husband could be filing a wrongful death suit and the kids the same when we were both in the car! Not a safe vehicle and the Rogue Facebook page shows many many owners with this same issue. Something needs to be addressed before there is a death! We gave the car back to the dealer. All paperwork is in the computer system. Something needs to be done! *****Please note all the work was done by Nissan and is available in the computer. I am out of state and don’t have the papers with me. This needs to be investigated and I don’t want to wait to file this complaint******

Airbag / restraint failure

AIR BAGS,STRUCTURE

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11693772

During a recent trip I noticed a "fluttering/rattling" noise coming from the top of the windshield of our 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum. The noise was very noticeable at interstate highway speed and on rougher road surfaces. While looking for the source of noise I found staining on the driver side headliner and interior front pillar garnish. Took Rogue to dealer and was told that the seal for the attachment clips for the roof rack were leaking into the interior. Leakage had damaged headliner and gotten into the airbag. The roof racks would have to be removed and sealed and the entire headliner, front pillar garnish, and the airbag replaced. The total repair would cost approximately $4,000.00. Since the Rogue was 45 months old with 20,500 miles it was out of warranty due to its age. The dealer told me that I would be responsible for the cost to repair it since it was out of warranty. I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs to see if they would cover the cost since the leak was caused by a design and/or manufacturing defect. Nissan agreed to pay 90% of the repair but I would be responsible for the remaining 10% (approximately $400.00). I told them this was unacceptable and that Nissan should be responsible for the entire cost of the repair. Nissan has refused my requests to cover the full cost of repair. An internet search revealed that Nissan was aware of the defect and had issued a Service Bulletin (NTB21-097, dated 10/20/21), which was a few months before we purchased the vehicle. Since the leak can allow water to damage the airbag it is a serious safety issue. The airbag may not deploy properly during an accident or could suddenly deploy for no reason and cause a crash. Nissan should take full responsibility and pay the full amount for the repair since it is a known design and/or manufacturing defect. Nissan should issue a recall for affected vehicles.

Vehicle Safety Defect Report I am submitting this vehicle safety defect report regarding a serious and dangerous failure in a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The vehicle experienced complete electronic shutdowns while driving on the highway. During the most severe incidents, on December 19, 2025 and again on January 14, 2026, the vehicle activated the automatic emergency braking system without external cause, shifted into PARK, and shut down completely, leaving the vehicle immobilized in live interstate traffic during heavy rain. The dashboard displayed multiple simultaneous warnings (engine, battery, collision sensors). A repair facility later diagnosed corrosion in the Transmission Control Module (TCM). The module was not replaced, only cleaned, and the failure recurred. This defect presents an extreme risk of collision, serious injury, or death. A vehicle that shuts down and electronically locks while in motion is unsafe to operate. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this electronic defect affecting critical safety and control systems. Videos, dashboard images, repair records, and documented evidence are attached. While driving on an interstate highway during heavy rain, my 2021 Nissan Rogue experienced a complete electronic shutdown. Multiple warning lights appeared simultaneously, the automatic emergency braking system activated without cause, and the vehicle suddenly shifted into PARK and shut off, leaving me immobilized in live traffic. This occurred on December 19, 2025, and the same failure happened again on January 14, 2026. The vehicle could not be moved and required towing. A repair facility diagnosed corrosion in the Transmission Control Module (TCM). The module was only cleaned, not replaced, and the failure recurred. This defect creates a severe risk of collision, serious injury, or death. I narrowly avoided being struck by a truck. I am no longer able to safely operate this vehicle.

On 7/23/21, I leased a 2021 Nissan Rogue SV AWD at Nissan of Streetsboro, Ohio. I leased the vehicle because I felt the newly designed Rogue looks good and drives smoothly. Unfortunately, during a recent long-distance trip from Ohio to Florida between 7/24 and 8/3 on interstate multi-lane highway I-77 and I-95 for a total of 2,500 miles, I uncovered a serious safety defect that is not possible to spot during the local test drive and it prompted me to make this report. The near accident-causing problem occurred on three occasions when the cruise control and intelligent lane intervention (I-LI) were enabled simultaneously at high speed (60~70mph). The incident occurred when I passed a big truck on the lane next to me, andthe entire Rogue got pulled towards that truck! What had happened was that the intelligent lane intervention system (I-LI) is designed to keep the vehicle in lane automatically. But when the truck next lane made a mistake and crossed line into my lane, I had to pull away from it, but then the intelligent lane intervention (I-LI) system failed to recognize the danger and forced my vehicle back in lane while the truck was still there, allowing my vehicle onto a collision course at high speed. I had since made the report to Nissan Consumer Affair. And the Nissan dealer sent the tech person out to drive along side of me, and he fully agreed that it is a dangerous problem. However, to my utter surprise, the case manage at Nissan Consumer Affair closed the case simply because that's how the feature was designed and no damage had occurred to the vehicle. I felt obligated and determined not to let this dangerous defect cause anyone's life. So, I contacted Nissan America corporate office on 8/31. They only had someone call me back to acknowledge receipt of my letter. No actions had been taken since. I am still driving this unsafe leased vehicle, and the lease is for 3 years. I think it's illegal to lease an unsafe vehicle to a customer.

I have had a recurring problem with the battery draining with my 2021 Nissan Rogue, which I bought brand new in 2021, although the headlight dial is set to "Auto" and no interior lights were engaged. This is also despite the vehicle having only 8,600 miles on it. I have had the vehicle checked for its 5K/10K mile maintenance, each time it was given a clean bill of health. In the last three months, I had to call a towing service to help get my car started twice and each time the towing service determined the battery was drained. When I took it to the dealership, on both times they said the battery was fine. On both occasions, once the battery was charged, the dashboard gave a headlight error. The dealership said that error was cleared and said "it was probably just the battery." For the second incidence, the dashboard gave an error about the ABS system, despite having been checked for regular maintenance at the dealership just 4 days before and being given a clean bill of health. Again, the Service Adviser said that it was probably just the battery. I took a picture of the towing service’s diagnostic tool which indicated the battery health was at 4% and that it was fully drained, and was “bad and needs to be replaced.” Once the vehicle was checked at the dealership, the Service Adviser informed me that because no error was given by their diagnostic computer, they could not replace the battery for free because "we would be out $250" and that I had to contact Nissan directly for help. I asked if their diagnostic computer would even be calibrated to detect whatever error was leading to what he described as "I have seen issues with the batteries with these cars, the batteries for these cars are different.” Given the dangerous weather we had this year, where many people have died because they were trapped in their vehicles that were unpowered, this is a clear safety issue, what if the battery dies again while I am on the road and away from immediate help?

May 1st, 2023 at approx. 3:30pm There were NO warning lights or messages of ANY kind received. No warning given by mail or phone call from selling agent that was issued March 12th, 2021. Was driving on interstate going south headed home after work. Approx 15 mi from home when smoke starting coming into the vehicle & from under the hood. Traveling in fast lane, appox 70mph in heavy traffic. Tried to pull over to see what the problem was but traffic wouldn't allow it, & I could not get to side of road & missed the next exit. So I proceeded to next rest area that I knew was less than a mile on my side. When there is smoke you usually find fire! As I entered the exit ramp to rest area I passed out from smoke inhalation. SUV continued traveling straight ahead at approx 55 mph & hit parked 18 wheeler tractor-trailer, I bounced off it, circled around & ended up facing West. I was still unconscious, truck driver & security guard pulled me from my suv. Just as they did the vehicle exploded into flames. Nothing left of vehicle. Rescuers could not see if any other passengers were in car because the black smoke was so thick & flames were shooting from under hood. Transported via ambulance to regional trauma & burn center to critical care ICU. There they did full test to check for stroke, heart, or other problems but I was in great health. I did have 4 broken ribs on left, cut in top of skull that took 8 staples, stitches in right eyebrow, damaged forehead, & various 1st, 2nd, & 3rd degree burns on my face, neck, right ear, left forearm, & both hands burned sufficiently! My shirt MELTED. SUV definitely had a problem that I was NOT aware of, for it to just start smoking, driving down the road. Purchased 3-7-23 from Hertz Car Sales. Only had SUV for 79 days/ 2 months! Loved the vehicle but it almost killed me! Thanks forever to my guardian Angel that saved my life! This model SUV must be recalled to save lives in the future & repair such a dangerous issue!

I have two major safety concerns for my 2021 Nissan Rogue. 1) FAILED REAR DOOR ACTUATORS ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE: I own a 2021 Nissan Rogue with approximately 68,000 miles. The rear driver AND passenger side door lock actuator failed, causing the rear doors to no longer lock or unlock electronically using either the key fob or the interior power door lock switch. The door must now be operated manually from the inside, no one can freely open the doors from the outside. I have to crawl in the backseat to open the doors. This creates a safety concern because, in an emergency, a rear passenger may not be able to quickly exit the vehicle if the door cannot be unlocked electronically. This failure affects a rear passenger door and could delay a child's or other passenger's ability to exit the vehicle quickly in an emergency if the electronic lock cannot be operated. It also creates a vehicle security concern because the door does not lock properly. I have found multiple reports from other 2021 Nissan Rogue owners describing the same rear door lock actuator failure at similar mileage. This appears to be more than an isolated incident. The vehicle has not been involved in an accident, and the failure occurred during normal use. 2) FAILED EGR VALVE: The EGR cooler has failed internally and is allowing engine coolant into the combustion chambers. The vehicle experienced a sudden engine malfunction related to an EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system failure. The diagnostic trouble code was P0401 –and was diagnosed with an EGR cooler failure causing coolant to leak into the combustion chambers. While driving, the vehicle displayed “Engine Malfunction-Power Reduced-Service Now.” The car went into reduced power mode, significantly limiting acceleration and normal vehicle operation, creating dangerous driving conditions. A sudden reduction in engine power on a highway or in traffic presents a significant safety hazard. Please investigate a recall.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 8, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — NHTSA complaint #11433356

Exiting a parking lot 6:45 pm 9/16/21, after braking and shifting gears from reverse to drive, the vehicle took off at top speed without my depressing the gas pedal. I negotiated a right turn with great difficulty because of high speed and pulled off to the side of the next block, braked hard, stopped, and turned off the engine. Each time I tried to restart the engine it roared into high speed (speedometer flew instantly to 140 mph) and the vehicle lurched forward without my touching the gas pedal. I repeated attempts at normal start several times; each time the roar and lurch recurred. I turned off everything and called a friend to pick me up. By the time she arrived about ten minutes later, I heard a loud pop/click in my otherwise totally silent vehicle and looked down to see the gas pedal rising up from the floor. I was then able to start it normally and drive a few blocks home to my garage. Today I have contacted a large dealership (not the smaller one where I bought this new vehicle off the showroom floor 6 months ago) to see if incidents similar to this incident had occurred with their customers. The receptionist canvassed 4 service techs who had heard of no such thing. (The last time this happened to my knowledge was with Lexus and Camry in 2007, when 5 people died in high speed highway crashes in California and the gas pedal assemblies were recalled. Toyota attributed the gas pedal malfunction to floor mats at the time. Congressional hearings were held.) The floor mats in my vehicle are rubber trays molded to the shape of the individual interior. They cannot move or impede the gas pedal in any way. My vehicle has been serviced by the dealership on schedule since purchase March 10, and the monthly vehicle report--testing conducted remotely--I receive by email finds nothing wrong with any component. However, the highly advertised safety and convenience features of this 2021 vehicle expired on September 10 and are now available only by paid subscription

First problem occurred on Sunday, August 15, 2021 (Mileage: 4,514) when the dashboard displayed: "Engine Malfunction, Power Reduced, Service Now" Warning light came on. The same day, I left a VM with Service Manager at CONICELLI dealership (as well sent pic and video of another repeat problem w/the front passenger window) who called me back the next morning stating if the WARNING message is off its okay to drive it to dealership in which I did on 8/16/2021 (by the way, when arriving the warning did not display, but again I had taken picture) After having my vehicle for a little over any hour I was told they had to call NISSAN about the problem and they were instructed to replace a sensor, the gear shift, and battery (since I had been having problems with starting the vehicle, it takes 2-3 "PUSH START" before the vehicle turns on. Now because it will take about 3 weeks for all the parts to come in it okay for me to drive the vehicle since the warning light went off. I said that I DID NOT feel safe driving the vehicle and want to be placed in a rental until they can complete the repairs. The Service Manager (Mark) said again since the light was off its okay, I just need to be concern if the comes back on begin flashing. I did not think it should be driven until the repairs was done because it is an unsafe condition for me and everyone else on the road. But I took the vehicle. The next morning the light came back on and stayed (Mileage: 4,594) on for the enter 45 minute drive and it did not drive well (it was sluggish). I called and complained to NISSAN HQ and Service Manager, Mark at CONICELLI. They only want to repair the sensor and battery because they have those parts and call me when the gear shift comes in and I return to get that fix. I was like that's unacceptable, I don't want a partial fix I want the problem fully fixed and I want a rental while YOU wait all the parts. He wants me in rental but none available, YET I reserved a rental after R call.

Brand new Rogue at 400 miles(no previous owner) CVT malfunction due to incorrect grounding of transmission on mount. Resistance is not good and causes a draining battery… flickering lights, loss of power steering and slipping of gears. Mount is neither grounded and is experiencing a high pressurized leak. Dealership has noted leak at 20K and has considered services from the past at 46K. They note antifreeze/coolant but it is clearly transmission fluid. Wife is scared. Almost got in an accident with 2 year old baby and their parents due to jerking transmission on the road at 40K. Self serviced transmission fluid at 43k and have found very black burnt transmission fluid. No more road side assistance due to needed jump starts… Nissan claims it is the battery but this is 5th battery to be tested non-defective and new LIFEPO4 battery is saving lives but dealership refused to work on my car further until they see the OEM battery even if I use the original they want a new battery which will ultimately leave me stranded or loss of control unless driving over 100MPH in case of emergency? I have proof and images alongside a real forensic case. Dealership may be tampering with vehicle or vehicle did not pass inspection… electrical issues were prominent at first 1K but accused of “phantum burst” or leaving lights on… parasitic draw directly from alternator mount and transmission fluid at a high pressurized leak. Build quality looks like it was squeezed an good half inch to the right and components are overlapped when originally they weren’t. A/C lines poor seal. Vacuum leak in engine filter compartment resulting in undesirable dirt debris. Coolant becoming very brown more often… and components in the car not shutting off including stereo and settings in the dash. Casa has claimed to fix the “no-start condition” during a recall campaign but did not… requested 900 dollars for fluid change and new battery before looking at leak… flagstaff Nissan did miracles but did not note short

I own a 2021 Nissan Rogue SV, 2.5L engine. I have repeatedly experienced a strong gasoline/fuel/exhaust-like odor inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The odor is extremely strong and has caused me and my passengers to experience dizziness, nausea, feeling sick, and discomfort. I regularly transport my children, including a [XXX] child, creating a serious safety concern. The exact component causing the odor is UNKNOWN. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I have taken the vehicle to the Nissan dealership more than eight times for this same recurring problem. On some occasions, I was turned away without the vehicle being properly inspected, and on other occasions I was told that the dealership could not find anything wrong or that there was nothing they could do to repair the issue. The problem has continued and worsened I eventually took the vehicle to an independent automotive repair facility for a second opinion. Their written service documentation states that I reported a strong smell of gas and feeling sick. The shop removed the rear seat cushion and inspected the low-pressure fuel pump and found no leak at that particular time. They also visually inspected the high-pressure fuel pump and found no obvious signs of a fuel leak at that time. The independent shop documented the ongoing concern and recommended that I return to the dealership with the information they found. Their documentation also states that I should not drive with children in the vehicle at this time because of the unresolved issue. Although the independent inspection did not identify an active fuel leak at the time of inspection, the recurring odor remains unresolved. The problem appears to be intermittent or difficult to reproduce during inspection, but it continues to occur during normal operation of the vehicle. I am particularly concerned because this vehicle is used to transport my children and we have all experienced some health concerns. INFORMATION REDACTED P

This is a follow up on my email originally sent to Nissan North America, Inc. & forwarded to The US NHTSA. I had purchased a used 2021 Nissan Rogue SV Car bearing the VIN as [XXX] from a local used car dealer in Garland TX USA. The car ran well in the last 2 years except for 1 time repair issue on the Radiator & now the Engine. On [XXX], my car started giving me trouble on the excessive consumption of the Coolant & it got exceptionally overheated while driving. Regular Timely Service has been done on the car. More recently, the car's engine got locked a few times & did not start upon my attempting to start the car. I took the car to Christian Brothers Automotive in Bedford, TX where they diagnosed that the vehicle struggles to start & runs rough. Vehicle smells like it is burning coolant badly, pulled out oil dipstick & found coolant mixed with oil, Blown head gasket and recommended a new engine. Driving at that time was not recommended due to the overheating issues. I took the car to Nissan of Lewisville/Lewisville Nissan & requested them to check the car thoroughly. Initially, I requested a basic 60K Service package which included a Radiator Coolant Flush & other necessary services provided by Nissan North America/Nissan Motor Corporation. Nissan of Lewisville/Lewisville Nissan refused to repair the car claiming expired warranty and demanded $10000.00 from me besides their repeated threats for charging storage fees & towing charges. I invoked 15 years Manufacturer's Implied Warrant retrospectively based on 4 USDC Court Orders ordering the Automobile Manufacturers to provide 15 years Implied Warrant on the cars manufactured by them. The Nissan North America, Inc./Nissan of Lewisville are in contempt of the said Court Orders. Close All Operations of Nissan Company. Order repair the car, provide 15 years Warranty Coverage. I will take 84 cars + $8950,000000.00 in out of court settlement against Nissan North America, Inc., et al. Arrest all involved. INFORMATION REDAC
